Potions and Memories

The next class Aster had is Potions.
They all but flew down the moving staircase as the corridors. Most people would grumble about the long walk from the third floor to the dungeons, but Aster could care less.
Potion was next.
Their pace quickened and Aster was practically glowing with anticipation as they neared the dungeons.
The magic in the dungeons had a character all its own. Walking down there have always felt heavier. Deeper.
The air grew cooler and shadows stretched in the torchlight
But when they arrive at the classroom, Aster couldn't help but to feel warm as they were welcome by the sharp scent of herbs and the curling steam rising from a simmering cauldron. It all reminded them of home.
Of their mother.
She had thought Aster long before Hogwarts ever could, granted that they could only observe. She had shown them how every ingredient had a purpose and how potion is all about patience.
'Potion demands discipline. The wisdom to know when not to act.' They remember her saying.
Aster could still hear her voice as clearly.
To them, Potion will not feel like just another class. It was more like coming home instead of another lesson they need for school.
Today’s lesson could be anything but whatever it was, Aster couldn't wait to begin.

The only seat left. Next to a Slytherin boy. He could be the worst or he could be nice. I thought. For example, you've got Tes and Jada, then you've got Angel and Dido. So yeah this could go uphill or downhill. Well there is no point in cowering, introduce yourself. I thought. I often got mad at myself for no reason. Example, me being stupid, that earns me some pretty loud comments from myself. It makes no sense at all, to me it makes perfectly no sense. I bit my lip hoping he wasn't Tes. "Hi my name is Tina Carille, I'm a first year Muggle born Ravenclaw. Sorry if I come off rude at some point. I just..." My voice trailed off. I wasn't really willing to express my insecurities to this kid. "Well what's your name?" I asked with a smile. I tilted my head. Why? I really don't know. My hair got in my face, again. I blew my curtain bangs out of my face a properly observed this boy. He had honey colored brown eyes. And long shaggy hair. It looked messy but it looked messy in a...Well he styled it to be messy on purpose. I hoped this kid wasn't a muggle born hater. I hoped he was civil.

Potions and Memories
"Hi," a voice came from beside Aster and they turned their head to see who it was.
Standing before them was a girl wearing a neatly tied blue and silver tie perfectly knotted on her uniform.
'Must be a Ravenclaw.' Aster thought to themselves.
Looking over the girl as she introduce herself, Aster observed that she had brown hair that sported golden streaks which fell around her shoulders. Her brown eyes with hints of gold, stood out against her olive skin.
Aster offered a polite smile, trying to calm themselves but the nervousness shows in their tone as they spoke, "Hi, I’m Aster Lune Moore, but you can call me Aster."
"Nice to meet you, Tina." Aster added
Aster’s eyes looked over the classroom and noting that most of the chairs were occupied except for the chair next to them.
Pausing, they pointed at the unoccupied chair beside.
"Would you like to join me?"
Aster was quite nervous. It was one of their first real interactions since arriving, aside from speaking to the professors.
But when they glanced at Tina, there was a sort of comfort.
Aster had already resigned themselves that they would be alone here.
And for the first time since arriving, that thought didn’t feel entirely certain anymore.

@Tina Carille
Apologies for the late reply. I didn’t notice the interaction until now. If you’d still like to continue, I’m happy to continue.
