April has arrived, and Ava was excited for her birthday month. And the urgent notice about Pygmy Puff's fur everywhere excited her more. What could even be better than the whole Hogwarts covered in colourful fluffs?
Some decided to de-fluff the situation with teams and some without them. Ava decided to join others to help out in cleaning the mess together. The group decided to start with the corridors.
Ava made her way to the corridor where there were a lot of fluffs. The others haven't arrived yet, though even if they did, she has never met any of them. She only knows them through the owls.
She looked around at the amount of colours Hogwarts was full of. It brought out a pop of colours at the dark, dim-lit walls. If it was for Ava, she would have let them stay where they are, but that would definitely make Professor Katherine mad.
She waited a bit more in case the others would show up, but Ava was always in a bit of a hurry with everything. She started working on de-fluffing the fluffs. She was lost at how to do that. But then decided to first collect them, and maybe by then the others would show up and she could ask them.

Grouped with @Ava Lynn, @Ebony Vetra, and @Lyanna Oak for a pygmy puff adventure
Simon was assigned to the Charms corridor. He wasn't sure who was in his group yet but he did know the Charms corridor well and what was difficult about the Charms corridor when there was a pgymy puff infestation was that there was at least one secret passage that they would have to tackle as well as the corridor and classrooms. Simon was up for the challenge. He had brought his enchanted satchel with him full of odds and ends and he had his wand in hand ready.
As he walked, it was a bit of a dangerous situation before him. Those assigned to other corridors and the enchanted staircases were casting around spell after spell, not really caring where their intended target rested. This overuse of basic spells could easily get anyone jinxed if they weren't careful. Simon noticed that it seemed in an effort to cast something to defluff the pygmy puffs, an entire group of students were only making the ones in their assigned section fluffier.
When he got to the Charms corridor, he saw someone there and he smiled, figuring it was one of his assigned groupmates. "Hello, and fluffy greetings. I'm Simon Kincaid. Pleasure to meet you.......Ava," he deducted. He knew Ebony and he knew Lyanna so this was the only other group member of his.
"Perhaps we should devise a plan while we wait for the others. I've had a few thoughts but open to any suggestions you or the others might have. There's the "Lure them with Snacks" plan where we could scatter sweets everywhere, attempting to gather them in one place. We'll still have an infestation, mind you, but at least it'll be organized." And most likely sticky.
"Or we could improvise some contraptions. In the muggle world at St. Patrick's Day, sometimes kids make up this elaborate sort of creation out baskets and nets and pillows and scarves attempting to catch a leprechaun. We could do the same but for the pgymy puffs."
"I suppose we could also attempt to train them," he said as he glanced around, seeing that some were hopping about without a care in the world and some others were hiding. Simon had trained his owl last year when he brought it to school and he had taught his pet rat a trick or two. And then Porter, the family dog back home knew loads of tricks. Maybe they could teach these fluffy creatures 'follow me.'
"All I do know is that I hope we can figure out a plan that doesn't involve harming them. That's not what I signed up for in this." He wanted to help God's creatures, never harm. But it didn't seem as though this girl would want that either.

Ava was focused on getting the fluffy puffs. Now improvising her parchment papers to put the fluffs in them. She was so focused on gathering the pink and blue puffs that she jumped in surprise at the unknown voice. Looking at where the voice came from, she saw a Hufflepuff student who looked much older than her. She knew she had seen him somewhere, but couldn't pinpoint where.
"Hello, Simon!" She greeted him, smiling. "Can't we just remove the fluffs? We have to catch them, too?" Ava asked, a bit worried, she had never seen one from close, let alone think of catching those fluffy creatures.
Hearing the word 'train', she wondered, "Can we keep them?" If they could, Ava would love to have one. One thing she figured about those creatures was that they had some of the softest furs she had touched. Taking a nap while cuddling them would be a dream.
The seer did agree on his last statement of not harming them. "If we have to catch them, I think the snacks one would be best. I mean, who doesn't get lured by that?" The seer was convinced that, like her, everyone is in love with food and a trap involving food luring would always work.

![]() banner by Prat Pass Pygmy puffs were… cute. It wasn’t often that the girl used the word “cute” as a descriptor for anything, but pygmy puffs stood as an exception. Their fur was fluffy, they were in a balled, circular shape - they certainly weren’t the best pets, for Ebony preferred pets that were less vibrant, but alas, they were indeed quite adorable. However, instances where they weren’t so cute included when they were shedding their fur around the castle — such an instance was occurring now. The pink clumps of pygmy puff fur coated the entirety of Hogwarts, and rather than serving as an adorability, it stood as an irritation. It felt as though the atmosphere of the school was now ruined; Hogwarts was an ancient castle riddled with magical history and artefacts, and the colour scheme was undoubtedly various shades of brown. Pink? Such a colour was in no way harmonious with the aesthetic of the castle, and the artist within her had to resist a scream. An amalgamated, colourful chaos it was. And thus, the girl had unprecedentedly volunteered to help clean away the fur. It was simply an unbearable sight. Upon arriving in the corridor, she spotted two individuals who had been assigned to the same location as her: a girl who appeared to be a younger Ravenclaw, and then Simon, a Hufflepuff whom she had met on a peculiar occasion in an empty classroom. Ebony was unsure what impression the boy had imparted upon her, but she was glad to see a familiar face nonetheless. She offered a friendly wave to the Hufflepuff and then nodded in greeting to the younger girl. “Hello, I’m Ebony,” she said, introducing herself with an awkward dip of the head — basic courtesy, yet after 16 years of living and breathing, she still hadn’t obtained mastery. Shame. She had heard the girl say that they had to deal with the creatures as well — something along the lines of catching the pygmy puffs. Ebony Vetra was not running around trying to capture pink fluffy pygmy puffs, no matter how cute they were. No, her dignity would not stand for that. And even if she had wanted to carry out such capturing, she doubted that the pygmy puffs would cooperate with her at all. It seemed more likely that the brunette was to scare them off instead; it appeared that she had that effect on other humans, so it could be assumed that it would be the same for creatures. She came to the conclusion almost instantaneously that she was to leave that capturing task to her teammates. She, on the other hand, would simply deal with the objectively simpler task of cleaning the already shedded fur. “Flipendo,” she enunciated. The Knockback Jinx was surely sufficient in gathering the clumps of fur to make for easier cleaning. She was careful to aim the jinx properly, however, for she did not desire whatsoever to accidentally jinx a student. A detention would then be imperative in that situation, and the Ravenclaw really wasn’t in the mood. She cast flipendo several times in order to consolidate the loose fur into piles; perhaps they could transport the fur outside, then, or place the piles within satchels to dispose of. “If we have to catch them, I think the snacks one would be best. I mean, who doesn't get lured by that?" She heard the younger girl mentioning a plan to lure the puffs with snacks. Luring them with snacks? That did not sound the slightest bit appealing. She supposed that she could help with that; it certainly seemed like a far more optimal plan than chasing the pygmy puffs around the castle barehanded, but she personally preferred something a little less… hands on. She was willing to help, nonetheless. Preferably, she would stay within the comforts of handling the sheddings exclusively, but she did understand that the tedious task of capturing the pygmy puffs probably required more hands. ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

With @Ava Lynn @Ebony Vetraand
"Ebony, good to see you again," Simon said with a smile as the girl came and began to tackle some of the brightly colored fur around them. It made him think of what the tufts of a truffula tree might look and feel like from the muggle book "The Lorax," by Dr. Seuss. It was a LOT of hair and Simon could see where this, especially in such high amount, could be deemed as somewhat of a nuisaince but also as two pygmy puffs came tumbling into the corridors before them, wrestling around in a playful cat-like manner, Simon did have to think they were adorable. He could see his girlfriend AngelFyre adoring these little creatures.
"I think sweet treats is precisely what we need! My Aunt Maggie owns a bakery in London and is always sending me homemade lemon flavored treats. I've got some that are small and aromatic. We can scatter them around like bait, no need for plates or any fuss."
But they would need something to contain the fluffy creatures in. Simon looked around. There was a wooden bench under a window that was filtering in light, a couple suits of armor. There was several wall mounted sconces that were also torching light.
Simon walked to the wooden bench. It already had a boxy structure to it and figured that it could be reshaped into a ventilated crate with slats - making a ventilated secured cage for creatures.
"Alright, we need something to place them into," he said as he decided after a quick assessement and drew out his wand. He performed a general transformation charm and the seat began to collapse and reshape to where the wooden structure became more pox like. The sides rewoorked to become walls and moved to create small ventilation gaps - enough for the small creatures to get air but not nearly enough for any of them to escape. Some of the hardware on the bench moved to create a hinged door for an opening. Everything rearranged just right so now the bench became a box=like containment perfect for pgymy puffs.
"Alright, we lead a trail to here. If we get too many.....," but there didn't seem to be an overwhelming amount in their section, "I don't know how to make an enlarging charm on the crate but I do know how to shrink down the puffs themselves."
Now he opened up his satchel to gather the bait. Maybe they already began to smell what was inside because three pgymy puffs, all pink, popped out from the shadows to peer at the students. "I've got these tiny lemon shortbread buttons," and he brought out a bag. "They're crumbly, butter, and give a sharp citrus smell when broken. That might be perfect for attracting these curious little crea....." but he paused in seeing the three glancing their way. Not wanting to draw attention to them, he carried on. "I think they might be perfect for attracting these curious little creatures."
"I've got some candied lemon peel confetti strips," he pulled out another bag with thin yellow strips. "These are chewy and can easily be scattered to be trail markers."
He also had some lemon sugar pearls in his bag but since those were crunch and almost like compressed lemon drops, they were his favorite. He'd save those last because maybe they wouldn't need to be sacrificed to the fluffy things.
"So we make a controlleed path, all down the corridor to the crate. One treat every few feet. We want to make sure we're leading them away from the crowded areas and watch that we're not going to create a spot where there's a fluffy pile-up. Space them out, just so. Sound like a plan?"

Ava was conversing with the Hufflepuff when a tall Ravenclaw girl arrived and introduced herself to the younger Ravenclaw. Ava, nervous about being surrounded by so many new faces, gave her a small smile. "I'm Ava, hey." The older girl, Ebony, used the Knockback Jinx to get the puffs. Ava watched in awe, even though she preferred the food trap method.
The seer's attention went back to Simon again, who was pulling out his wand, transforming the bench into something like a cage she had seen at the pet shop. While he was explaining his plan, she pulled a paper bag from her bag, putting the puffs she had gathered in it, and offered her hand to Ebony if she wanted to put them in it.
"Sounds good to me!" The Ravenclaw replied, almost wanting to ask if she could have it later. But the social etiquette her father forced her to learn stopped her. She envied those who could go to Hogsmeade; she wanted to be a third year so badly.
"I think the pygmy puffs might love them as much as we do," she added, noticing the little pink trio that had appeared. The way their tiny noses twitched at the scent made her giggle. "We could start the trail from over there," she pointed near the window. The seer shifted the paper bag of puff more securely in her arms, careful not to squish them. If only she hadn't procrastinated when her grandmother had offered to teach her crocheting, she could have used the fur to knit something pretty for herself and Marci.
As Ava moved further down the corridor to look outside the window. "You're really good at Transfiguration," she told Simon softly. "Once they're all inside, do you think we'll get to visit them later? I mean. . . just to make sure they're okay." The thought of the cage full of pygmys made her smile. If she had her way, she'd curl up with them and take a nap buried in their soft furs.

Puff patrol with @Ava Lynn and @Ebony Vetra
"Thank you, Ava," Simon said, beaming. His wandcasting had improved through the years but he hadn't ever specifically been told he was good at Charms or Transfiguration or any of the wandcasting specific classes before. Something about being a dhampir could interfere with certain spells and incantations but he had been working hard to overcome that since he knew he wanted to become a healer. When you were a healer, doing certain things, you just couldn't have the spell fail.
"I don't know, I guess we'll see how chill they are. I wouldn't want to send you into a small enclosed space with little fluffy creatures that were ready to attack." But those three that were still now approaching closer upon them only looked ready to attack - for snacks.
Simon placed one down on the corridor stone floor next to him and the pygmy puffs just eyed him, not trusting enough to get closer. He then backed away, just a few steps, and placed another treat down, then backed up a few more and placed another. It seemed to be working. "Here, you can have this bag," Simon said as he tossed over one of the bags of sweets to Ava. He wasnt sure the other girl wanted to try this method but all he could think is how hard a knockback jinx must felt to these little guys - they could be pretty violent upon him! Hopefully the girl had good aim......
Simon began making his trail towards the crate. "You a fan of magical creatures, Ava? What about you?" he looked to the other. He just was curious what might have brought them out there in the first place.

The Seer smiled, seeing there might be a tiny percentage chance of them turning out to be calm. She calmly stood behind, acting like she did not see any little fluffy creatures approaching. Seeing how they were following the trail Simon just set, the girl jumped a little in excitement.
She caught the bag of sweets the Hufflepuff tossed at her. "Should I start from there?" She asked, pointing towards the other side of the corridor, trying to see any sight of more puffs. She looked inside the bag to see the candies. If the rest are still there, can I have them? The girl wondered; she thought she might ask him after they were done with their hunt.
The girl started following Simon's lead, starting from the cage to where he was making, to help him, hoping she was doing it right. She looked at him once again as he asked him and the other girl, "Yes! I love every creature! As long as they don't hurt me," she answered. She was so fascinated by animals in the Muggle world, always volunteering at her local farms. She wanted to volunteer for the magical creatures, too. The girl couldn't wait to be a third year, when she would start taking Care of Magical Creatures.

Clearing out with @Ava Lynn
As Ava began to make her trail of sweets for the puffy creatures to follow, Simon smiled and now there were two paths to entice the animals to his crate. Perfect.
He lined them up, feeling it was almost like setting up dominoes when he brought his one path out one way and his other out the other way, making a sort of fork in the road with the pieces of pastry he had. No, that wasn't a good thought - if two pygmy puffs happened to come upon it at once, maybe they'd start fighting over that and no one needed a cyclone of these things fighting in the corridor - there was already enough hair everywhere.
So he fixed his line and when he glanced back to the others, he saw that Ava had now made a pretty long line and he flashed her another smile and gave her a thumbs up.
Then, seeing as though he had two purple puffs that were following his line, he stepped back so not to startle them and let them head toward the crate. Those were the last two on the left side.....now they just needed to clear Ava's side. He was grateful for her help.
"None of them seem timid around you," he said quieter now. But it was true, they hadn't scattered. Hopefully the remaining pygmy puffs would find themselves brave enough to take Ava's trail and head into the crate and they'd be all done with clearing out this corridor.
