Aurora wasn't very fond of the idea of 'running through a wall'. Sure, having a mother who used to study at Hogwarts, she was informed about the 9¾ Station, but she was afraid to say the least.

Aurora and her mother had arrived early to the station, so that they she could go through things calmly and spend the last bit of time together with words of encouragement. And also so that she could snatch a seat in a compartment.

After hauling her bags into the luggage racks above, she flops to the seat with a sigh. She looks out her window to see her mother still standing outside, waiting for the train to start and see her daughter off.

She studies her mother's huge smile, her pink worn scarf around her neck make her look warm and cozy. She mouthes 'I am proud of you' for the hundreth time. It is strange how many time that a phrase repeated to you, you started believing it yourself. Her mothers pride started bleeding to her, that she slowly felt good about this decision.

Aurora raise her hand and wave, with a big grin on her face. This is it. She will left her mother which is also her best friend, her comfort, her home. Which sounds dramatic, since she will only left for a while before going back home once the term ends, but she has never been away from home before. Being nervous is normal.

After some time passes, The Hogwarts Express shuddered. Deep mechanical sounds and shrill steam signs that the train will start to set on the journey. Aurora wave one last time to her mother, not keeping her eyes off of her until finally she can't see the familiar pink scarf anymore.

"Well, this is it then. New journey. Yay.." She mumble unenthusiastically. With a rhythmic chuff-chuff-chuff that quickened by the second, the girl slumps and leans back again the compartment seat. It is empty and quiet spacy. It's not so bad. I don't have to interact with anyone. Good. She slowly slump lower. Anyone who sees her would probably judge her for her poor posture. But no one's here to judge me, eh?

Or so she thought..

Elwyn was very excited to get on the train, but saying goodbye to his parents seemed to be harder than he expected. As they said their goodbyes he looked around the station. It was filled with kids and proud parents. He’s been here before, whenever his sister started the school year, but he never looked around properly. His sister had already run ahead and got on the train with her friends.

When he got on the train, he waved one last time to his parents and went looking for a cabin. They seemed to be filled and he didn’t want to bother his sister and her friends so he kept looking.

He was starting to give up on finding one cabin which is not full of kids when he peeked into one of the last ones. There was one girl, she seemed content sitting alone and he didn’t want to disturb her. He hesitated, it was this or a packed one. He sighed and poke his head in, speaking quietly to not startle her if she didn’t notice him.

“Excuse me…can I sit with you? This whole train is full and this is the only I could find that is not so crowded. Crazy how many people can fit on this train. I mean, how? It’s like a never ending train.” He’s ranting. He always talks a lot, but never with strangers, unless he’s trying to make small talk in which he’s terrible at. “I’m sorry, I talk a lot I’ll shut up.” He grins sheepishly. “So…can I sit? I promise I won’t bother you.”

He sways in one place nervously. He’s not used to talking to people outside of his family so he tries to remember the time when he used to go to public school. Well..he was not good at it back then either, so that’s a lost cause. He doesn’t want to seem like a fool, but he feels that’s too late now. He just waits for the girl to respond and thinks about what he will do if she declines. Which would be reasonable, he knows. Maybe he could go to his sister, he knows she won’t mind, but he just doesn’t think it’s a good idea if he bothers her friends.

At the sound of a voice, Aurora jumps up from her seat and stumbles in surprise. She falls to the ground on the ground embarassingly. Ah, damn it. just burn me alive. She picks herself up quickly, and pretend to dust herself off, but her cheeks had slowly turn red from the embarrasment. She didn't even step her foot into Hogwarts yet, but she had already make a fool of herself.

She fixes her crooked glasses before managing an awkward smile. "Oh, hi. Sure, you can come in. There's plenty of room in here." Aurora looked at the boy with the short green hair. He has a soft and youthful face and also sports a pair of glasses. "I definitely didn't just fell, so dont worry!" She awkwardly chuckles.

She fixes her posture and watch as the boy enters the cabin "You're right about the train being packed, though. There's so many kids. It's a relief me and my mom came early, so that i got in an empty cabin." The girl fiddles with her fingers as she waits for the boy to settle in. She started to try make small talk awkwardly. "I'm Aurora, by the way. Aurora Coleman."

He smiled at her, ignoring how she stumbled to not embarrass her. "Oh yeah, I'm Elwyn Ambrose, nice to meet you. Thank you for letting me sit. Me and my family have a hard time being on time so it's a relief we caught the train. One time my sister missed it and we had to write a letter to the Headmaster so we could get her in school."

While he talks, his legs are swinging like a nervous habit. He didn't know what to do, he said he will be quiet but it turned out to be harder than expected. The soft noise of the train moving does little to fill the silence so he attempts to talk again. "Sorry, I don't like silence. I love your hair it reminds me of a fox." He points at her hair as if she doesn't know how it looks like.

He rummages through his pockets, his tongue sticking out. "Here, I have these, do you want one? My sister gave them to me." He holds out a chocolate frog for her to take with a grin, the frogs are slightly melted but not messy so he hopes she'll take it. "Did you have one of these before?"

Aurora followed the boy's action with swinging her legs over the seat as she talked. At the mention of her hair, her hands touched the short bob. "My hair? Look at your hair! It's really pretty, and its one of my favourite color." She grinned and admire his hair more. "Did you dye it yourself? It looks so good on you."

She fiddles with her sleeves as she replies more "You have a sister that goes to Hogwarts as well? It must be nice! You can like, ask for extra pocket money or something." She chuckles as she imagine the act of asking for money from an older sibling. If she ever had any older sister or brother, she must got scolded a lot for burdening them.

Her eyes widen at the chocolate offering, she gasps "You're giving me a chocolate frog?! I've never gotten myself any of these." She smiles widely before she gingerly accepts the small dessert. "I've seen the boys in my neighbourhood being so obsessed with this, but i never knew where they got them." She smiles softly as she inspect the slightly melted chocolate frog.

"Thank you so much, Elwyn. I'll cherish it. And what i mean by cherishing is i'll eat it slowly." She jokes and pats her pocket to find something to exchange with him. But she can only find empty candy wrappers. "Oh no, i dont have anything to give you back. Maybe i can give you something later.. I've eaten all of my candy on the way here."

Elwyn touched his hair also when she complimented him. "Thanks! My dad dyed it for me. I fell into a swimming pool and the edges turned green. But I liked it so my parents let me dye it."

He grins at the mention of his sister, getting more comfortable on his seat. "Yeah, she's starting her third year at Hogwarts. Her name is Flora. But she doesn't have money either. Just a little which we both get from our parents. Although…she did get a bit more this year because of Hogsmeade." He likes talking about his sister, he's very proud of her. "Oh! Do you know if we have a way of going there too? I really want to see it, I've never been there."

He beams as she takes the chocolate frog and shakes his head when she mentions she doesn't have anything with her. "That's alright! I ate most of my stuff before I got on the train." He laughs while leaning back against the back of his seat comfortably. He's more at ease now, Aurora seems kind. He's happy she's the first kid he spoke to. "Which house do you think you will get into? Flora is in Gryffindor, but my dad was in Hufflepuff. I think I'll be sorted into Hufflepuff it seems the most fitting but I don't really know much about the other houses" He doesn't apologize again. She doesn't seem to mind how he's speaking a lot or asking a bunch of questions, but you never know.

Aurora thinks for a while at Elwyn's question about Hogsmead. "Hm.. I'm not quite sure. I've never been to Hogsmead as well." She fiddles with the chocolate frog box, tracing the borders with her fingers. "But i know there's a candy shop called Honeydukes. We can get Every Flavor Beans there. Maybe we could go explore the town together someday, Elwyn!"

She sats back as she thinks of the other question. That's right. The sorting ceremony. The turning point of every first year students in Hogwarts. The house will be like your family for the next seven years you'll be learning there. Her mother had spoken about her experience getting sorted as well, "My mother was a Hufflepuff. And i've got to say that I'm much like a smaller version of her. So yeah, probably Hufflepuff. But i don't really mind, whichever house i got into." The girl grins at the boy seated in front of her ,"It will be nice to get into the same house as you though, i just hope you won't get tired of me."

"Are you excited to start attending the classes? You seem like a boy who's eager to learn."

omo i dont think i got the frog, or maybe i just dont know how to check whether ive gotten it or not. but its alright! and sure! we can roleplay again in other threads as well, its nice meeting you!

Elwyn shakes his head at her comment on being tired of her
“I don't get tired of people easily. I think. I'd love to get into the same house as you!” It would be great to have someone who he knows even just a little.

He thinks about her other question for a bit before he answers with a reluctant nod.“I guess I am, but I'm a bit afraid how strict the professors are going to be. I'm excited for potions the most. What are you most excited about Hogwarts? I was in school before, but that was not like this.”

When he finishes saying this, Elwyn jolts a bit when the train suddenly starts moving faster. “Whoa! Why is it going so fast?” He holds onto his seat to balance himself. “Are we there soon that's why? Isn't it supposed to slow down if we are reaching the end?”

He looks outside the window to see what is going on. He's not very familiar with trains. Never been on one before. “I can't see anything? Just trees and all. There's no school around. Oh! There are some creatures out there. I can't see what though..” He squints his eyed, adjusting his glasses. “Do you see them?”

Aurora clutches into the edge of the seat. Out of the blue, the train had sped up bit by bit. She hold onto Elwyn's shoulder when she saw the boy struggling. "I dont know.. Is something happening..?"

She looked out the window to investigate the current situation. The view was blocked by handful of trees and nothing else. "Oh! There are some creatures out there. I can' see what though.." Elwyn said. The girl squints her eyes to spot the creatures that were mentioned, but to no avail she couldn't see anything. "Creatures? Where?"

Curious to see creatures in the forest, she leans closer to the window, until her nose touch the glass. "I didn't see anything though.."

After a while covered in only trees, the train finally got through the other side. No more trees could be seen, instead dark blue sea stretch until what seems like the horizon. They both looked up to the sky and noticed that it has already turned nightime. Clouds exchange with stars.

"Woah. It's already dark out. Do you think it's like a magic portal or something?" In the corner of her eyes, she saw the magneficent building. The incredible architecture. Beautiful even in the dark. Hogwarts. Right before her eyes. "Woah."

She looked at Elwyn and smile. "I think we're almost there. Best we change into our robes before we arrived."

Sorry for the late reply! I love what you did with the train moving faster to accelerate the scene. Ive never watched Harry Potter though before, so i just went with it so i hope it goes like how you imagined. And i also think we could add two or three more posts before we end it. But i'm okay if you want to continue more! It's been fun rpging with you, hope Elwyn and Aurora can keep being friends and we can do this again! Oh and thank ou for he gift its lovely!

He pouts a little when Aurora says she didn’t see anything. Maybe he was just imagining things. It happens often. He looks up at the night sky wondering how time passed so quickly. “Maybe it is, we were not on route for this long. I guess…they wanted to make it more beautiful? I don’t know. My sister never mentioned this.” He mumbles with wide eyes still looking out the window.

But then he hears that they need to change into their robes. “Oh, right! I almost forgot we have to wear these. These are so itchy tough. I tried it on when we bought it and it was so warm the whole time. I hope we do not need to wear it all day long.” He rambles on while getting his robe out and putting it on with a slight frown on his face.

“Do you think the sorting ceremony will be very long? My attention span is not the best so if we have to stand for a long time I think I will forget to hear my own name.” He tends to daydream if something is taking too long. Fidgets or swings on his leg, not paying attention to his surroundings. The train suddenly stopped, making a screeching sound. “Oh, we are here!”

I am so so sorry for the late reply. I will be more active finally. I will have a graduation on Thursday so not that day but other than that, I think I will have more free time
