Skylar hums to herself as she walks along the gravel path. In her hand was a broom, which she had borrowed from Professor Ruckus's shed. She had been coming to the grounds quite often, practicing her flying and skills with the broom. She was quite proud of her talents in flying, given how fast she can easily learn tricks and skills.

As she ventures her way to the grounds, she pauses when she notices a figure. It was late in the afternoon, so not many people were around. The sun was setting behind the mountains, turning the sky into a wonderful shade of red and orange. Skylar tilts her head curiously at the figure, the broom held loosely in her hands.

The boy was pale and slender, with jet black hair that was slightly messy. He also looked quite tired. Skylar was about to ask the kid if he was okay when she catches sight of his... pink eyes.

Woah.

Skylar blinks as she squints at the boy. Pink eyes? Not like the sickness, no. His eyes were quite literally dark pink. Was he a metamorphmagus? Curiosity stirs in Skylar as she wonders about the boy. After all, it is not everyday you see someone with pink eyes. Well to be fair, she does have bright blue hair, so she really cannot judge.

Making her way to the student, Skylar offers him a bright grin and waves, her broom still in her other hand.

"Hello there! I saw you from a distance and thought your eyes looked extremely cool. Name's Skylar. Skylar Blue. How about you?"

Gone With the Wind PV: Alexander Zolotov abandoned
Alexander had been staring at the horizon. He had a book on his lap but he wasnt reading it, he was not really looking at the horizon just… letting his eyes rest there he may take a nap maybe. The sunset painted everything in soft red and gold, and it should’ve been calming. It was calming. That’s why he’d come out here in the first place. He really thought noone will be here
it was supposed to be less noisy,
Less… really everything honesty.
He really to merlin really hadn’t expected anyone else to be here.
So when a voice suddenly broke through the quiet
Alexander flinched.
Actually physically flinched.
His shoulders tensed instantly, posture going rigid as his head snapped toward the source. His heart jumped up into his throat, and for a split second, he just stared at her.
Bright.
Bright grin. Bright energy. Bright hair. He blinked.
His brain took a second longer to catch up with what she had said.
Your eyes looked extremely cool.
Oh.
Oh no.
His hand instinctively twitched, like he might reach up to cover them, but he stopped halfway and instead awkwardly let it fall back to his side. His gaze darted away for a second, then back, then somewhere just slightly to the left of her face anywhere but direct eye contact.
“…Oh...uh”
Words.
Right.
He needed words.
“I...um....hello.”
Brilliant. Amazing. Incredible start Alexander.
His fingers curled slightly into his sleeves, fidgeting with the fabric as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other.
She was smiling.
Still smiling.
Why was she still smiling?
Why was she smiling at him is she making fun of him?
“My--my name is… Zolotov,” he managed after a second, voice quiet but not completely lost. “Alexander Zolotov.”
There was a small pause, and then because his brain refused to leave things alone
“…and um thank you i guess.”
For the eyes.
Right.
That was normal. People thanked others for… noticing their eyes.
His cheeks warmed slightly.
He risked a glance at her again really looked this time. The broom. The confidence in how she held it. The way she stood like she belonged exactly where she was.
Flying.
She must be practicing.
That made sense.
His gaze flickered back to the broom, then quickly away again before it looked like staring.
“I...I didn’t think anyone else would be out here,” he added, softer now, almost like he was thinking out loud.

Skylar tilts her head thoughtfully as she looks at Alexander. Saying he was shy is a huge understatement. He quite literally flinched at her greeting. She notices the way his eyes darted to her broom before looking away. Did he want to fly?

“I...I didn’t think anyone else would be out here.” He said quietly, the wind almost drowning out his voice.

Skylar hums in agreement, her eyes trailing off to the sunset. "Well, most people tend to enjoy the warmth of the castle around this time. However, I tend to find the sunset quite nice."

"Say, have you ever tried to fly before?" Skylar asks as she faces Alexander again. "I practice on my own and find it enjoyable. It also helps relieve stress, in a way. Being in the air just gives this sense of freedom I cannot describe."

Setting down her broom, Skylar commands it up. With practiced ease, she mounts the broom and levitates a few feet off the ground. Then, with sudden power, she launches herself high into the sky. Skylar lets out a little 'whoop!' before doing a backflip. She slowly descends to the ground again, her face flushed and split with a wide grin. Hopping off her broom, she turns to Alexander and offers the broom to him.

"How would you like to try?"

Alexander blinked.
Once.
Twice.
His eyes followed her as she lifted off the ground like it was the most normal thing in the world.
It wasn’t.
It really really wasn’t.
He hadn’t even realized he’d stopped breathing until she did the backflip.
A backflip.
His fingers tightened slightly around the fabric of his sleeve, shoulders tensing again but this time not from fear of people.
Just… that.
That looked
His brain scrambled for the word.
Terrifying.
Absolutely terrifying.
…And a little
His thoughts cut off the second she landed.
And then
She was holding the broom out to him.
Alexander froze.
Completely.
“…Oh.”
That was all that came out at first.
His gaze dropped to the broom like it might suddenly do something on its own, then flicked back up to her face, then back down again.
Try?
As in him? He looked left and right and pointed to himself ¨m-me?¨
His stomach did a small, unpleasant flip.
“I—um”
His hand lifted slightly.
Stopped.
Lowered again.
His heart was beating a little too fast now, and not in the quiet, manageable way he was used to. This was different. Louder.
Unpredictable.
“…I’ve… never…” he started, voice quieter now, almost getting carried off by the wind.
He swallowed.
“…not really.”
That wasn’t even a proper answer.
He knew it.
His eyes drifted back to the sky where she had just been open, wide, too open.
No walls.
No ground.
Nothing to hold onto.
“…It looks…” he hesitated, searching carefully this time, “…very high.”
Brilliant observation, Alexander.
He winced slightly at himself.
There was a pause.
Then, softer
“…and fast.”
Another pause.
His fingers curled again into his sleeve, grounding himself.
“…I don’t think I would be very good at it,” he admitted, almost apologetically, like he was letting her down somehow.
But he didn’t step away.
Didn’t leave.
His gaze flickered just briefly back to the broom.
Lingering a second longer this time.
Curious.
Nervous.
Both.
“…Do you… fall a lot?” he asked quietly, glancing back at her, genuine concern slipping through his voice.
Because that seemed like a very real possibility.
A very painful possibility.

Skylar ponders Alexander's question a bit. She has not fallen from her broom yet, but she knows a few people who did. Mostly because they were messing around though.

"Well, not really. I do know that it is different for everyone though. My suggestion would just be to grip your broom tight. Many students get over confident and start goofing off, causing them to fall." She explains. Though now she thinks of it, it might be better if she teaches Alexander how to fly a broom, especially since it is his first time. Placing the broom on the ground, Skylar gestures Alexander to come over.

"The first thing we are going to do is summon the broom. It is quite simple. You just hold your hand out and command it up. Once you do it enough times, the broom would just fly into your hands without needing a verbal command."

With that, Skylar holds out her hand and allows the broom to fly into her palm. She grips the wooden handle tight as it reaches her grasp.

"Then, we are going to mount it. You merely saddle the broom where it is between your legs —" She states as she mounts the broom. "And set your weight on it. It may feel a little weird and off-balance at first, but just trust the broom. The broom can bear more weight than you think, you just have to steady yourself. After you are stable, you can tuck in your legs and hook them under the broom."

And so, Skylar settles in position and floats comfortably above the ground. She turns to Alexander and offers him a reassuring grin. "If you need me to explain anything more, feel free to ask. These should cover the basics though."

Skylar then dismounts the broom and hands it over to Alexander. She gives him an encouraging nod and a thumbs-up.

"Now you try! I'll be right here if you need me."
