After Potions, Aster found themselves walking towards their common room almost without thinking. The exhilaration they felt previously has slowly faded and they decided to lie down before their next class.
Transfiguration was in the fifth floor and they all need the energy they can get.
Aster sank into the an armchair corner near the window and set their bag at their feet. Outside, the water of the lake stretch with the afternoon light shinning through.
For a moment, Aster simply sat there, letting the stillness settle then close their eyes for a nap.
They wished they could stay there forever but eventually, Aster woke up and stand to stretch their aching limbs after sleeping in a sitting position. Grabbing their bag and sliding it over their shoulder once more before walking towards the common room entrance. He stepped into the corridor, making their way toward the fifth floor.
By the time Aster reached their classroom, their legs ached with the effort to climb the seemingly endless staircase and paused just outside the classroom door, gathering themselves.
They pushed the door open and felt the magic inside is different.
The Potions classroom felt heavier, while Charms, on the other hand, shimmered.
And then there was Transfiguration.
The room felt bright and precise.
Aster stepped inside slowly. Afternoon light poured in through the windows and desks were arranged in perfect rows. There was no clutter here. Everything had its place, its purpose, its order.
Potions had felt like home. Charms had felt like wonder.
Transfiguration... felt like expectation.
