Who the on Earth didn't knock before they opened a door at a school full of people practicing potentially dangerous spells and potions? The idiot who had braged in on Ana practicing, that was who.

She had just learned Avifors, and had been practicing constantly since it was both a difficult spell and one that she was absolutely obsessed with. She had figured out how to make several different kinds of birds, including a swan, which she had been quite proud of until it had attacked her. Fortunately, she'd gotten quite at untransfiguring things after what had happened on her first day of school. She'd decided to push herself and had managed to make a lovely flock of bluebirds until they started falling down dead because she made so many. That was fairly traumatic for the girl. She'd pressed on and successfully made several flocks though. Now she was working on bats. They were harder than the birds, and her first few attempts had been unsuccessful, to say the least. This attempt had been perfect until someone opened the door.

She was flashing back to the incident from last week with that moron Hufflepuff and his cookie jar. She had never wanted to think of that again and had threatened the boy to ensure he wouldn't mention it again. He'd apparently taken that to mean "please owl me and ask me to the blossom ball so we can talk about it". Since she really couldn't think of any reply that wouldn't be horribly rude, she'd opted to ignore it altogether, and had pretty much forgotten about it until this moment. She would be perfectly fine catching these bats as long as that moron didn't show up.

Working ahead was stressful for Donald; however he was determined to get the job done no matter the cost. The approval to so much as practice next year transfiguration spells was a brutal task to obtain. It was the single largest achievement in Donald's entire life thus far. Which sounded super pathetic when he thought about it that way, but it was a start. The classroom where second years often practiced spells for transfiguration was supposed to be open to him so he went for it at nearly full sprint. He was going to be late and he couldn't afford to fall behind in his practice.

"Crap... crap... crap..," Donald swung into the doorway full speed and pushed it open with abandon.

Something got in the way. A thud resounded and sparks flew. Not only because of who Donald saw on the other side of the door, but because she was casting a spell at that moment as well. Suddenly, there were bats too. It must have been avifors! Donald was excited to see had been practicing the exact spell he was coming here to learn. That could not have been a coincidence.

With the door hanging open partially and the spell being knocked off target, bats were now loose in the corridors of Hogwarts. It looked like the foot was on the other shoe. Or something like that. This time it would be Donald's turn to help the lovely girl fix a problem.

"Hey! Uh... should we stop those?" He asked sheepishly as he anticipated her rage to come at him like a cat whose belly had been scratched just a nanosecond too long so it bore its claws and teeth to scar the victim for life.

Ana (if that was her name (she had not answered an owl her sent to that name after asking around (she did not give him her name after the first meeting so he tried to find it (from some not too confident Gryffindor first years ( who really were too open with information (Donald might have been a stalker or something (not that he was (that anyone could prove))))))), was like a dirty gym sock that used to be your favorite (but got lost at the bottom of a gym bag (and got really stinky)) and you just had to keep smelling it despite the offensive stench. It's some sort of requirement that when something is truly rancid, you just have to smell it multiple times and maybe even show others. That was the only way to explain how Donald felt about this girl.

Anastasia was going to commit a murder. Like an actual, cold-blooded murder. Not only was the irritating idiotic Hufflepuff there, but he was also the one who had opened the door. Was he stalking her? That would have been creepy if he were not so clearly an incompetent moron. She muttered a few expletives at the sight of the moron. She debated setting him on fire again for what he had just done, but decided against it since she really needed to stop the flying terrorists.

"I am going to catch them. Do not get involved, she snapped, shoving past him as she ran to catch up to the bats. The last batch had been alright until they had started pooping everywhere, and somehow, Anastasia felt as though she would get in trouble if her bats were flying all over the school pooping on people.

This was worse than the last encounter with the boy because she had managed to make a flock of 17 bats. That meant that if the flock split up, she would have to hunt down and untransfigure 16 more creatures than she had last time. She'd just learned Incendio Duo, so maybe she would just fry all of the stupid flying rodents. She was sure that things like this happened often enough for nobody to mind if there was one less desk or whatever it was she had turned into bats.

This was better than last time since her hair was pulled into a high ponytail instead of loose, and her bookbag sat safely in the classroom she was practicing in. She was very grateful for her practice of the transfiguration spell since she was sure she was about to need it badly. She was also almost certainly going to use the Slug Vomitting spell she had recently learned the second she saw the stalker again. Along with a nice little Flipendo. And obviously some Incendio. She relished the thought and ran faster. The stupid bats were flying far higher than she would have liked, and as good as her aim was, somehow she didn't think shooting fire at the ceiling was the best course of action at this point in time.

Hundreds of hours of studying, at least what felt like hundreds, had not prepared Donald for dealing with girls. He felt bad for opening the door at a bad moment for this girl but it was the perfect chance to pay her back for helping him. It was only fair that he helped her like she had helped him. Despite being shoved out of the way and told no, Donald would help.

"But I owe..," he trailed off as the girl began running down the hall after the bats. "Wait!"

The bats didn't seem to split up too much so far. Don's only logical choice was to chase after Ana to follow the flock. Was a group of bats called a flock? Donald wasn't sure. It sounded wrong but he couldn't think of a better word. He swore that in Muggle school they had learned about bats and even the name for them.

A school of bats? No, that's Fish... like me. Maybe a colony? Like Ants? Yeah that has to be it! Donald thought to himself as he started to catch up.

Ana had never answered the owl and the chase was partially to see if she had received the invite. Asking a girl to dance in person was a bit too difficult, but causally asking if she got the written message? Donald could handle that. If she said no he would just ask for her name. If she said yes, he'd freak out and do something awkward most likely.

"You go right I go left!" He shouted at the Gryffindor girl as the bats began to split in different directions towards other hallways.

Her ponytail trailed behind her as she ran. She was going to have to try something because she couldn't do this forever. As she racked her brain for a better idea than setting something on fire, she heard a familiar irritating voice. What part of "don't get involved" meant "please get involved" to this idiot? After she tracked down all the bats, she made a mental note to tell him to get his head looked at again because, between this and his misunderstanding of her telling him to leave her alone, she was completely certain that his tiny pea brain was badly damaged in their last encounter.

"I told you not to get involved!" she snapped at the boy, glancing over her shoulder. When she focused back on her target, she was dismayed to see the bats were splitting up. She still had zero plan, and now she was going to need an even more complicated one. Her thoughts of a plan were interrupted again by the boy yelling instructions. Who did he think he was? Anastasia was in charge. "Absolutely not, that's a terrible idea. I'm going left, you go right. Actually, you just walk away from this situation, I can handle this, she told him, before sprinting down the left hallway.

She hadn't changed the plan completely arbitrarily. Alright, it had been mostly arbitrary, but about 10 of the bats had gone this way, and Ana knew that she knew more spells and was, therefore, better equipped to tell with more bats. Thankfully, the ceiling was lower, and she felt comfortable trying to set something on fire from here. "Incendio Duo!" she cast at the nearest bat.

Well, the good news is she had absolutely incinerated one bat. The bad news is her lovely stream of magical fire had somehow bounced off the low ceiling and back at her. She dodged to the side and barely avoided catching on fire. Lovely, just lovely...

This girl never listened to Donald. She was just like him really. A colony of bats was loose and the only thing on Donald's mind was Ana. She snapped at him once more but she didn't seem to mind too much. It was like to keep face she would yell at him but then include him in her adventure. Donald remembered the advice his dad once gave him about girls.

Donnie, girls your age play hard to get. The more they hurt you but still hang out with you? It means they like you.

Donald's plan was to split left and she seemed to want to go that way. Taking his dad's advice to heart, he kept to his original plan. She probably wanted him to take that path, hence why she went the same way as him. Donnie had already aimed himself to go left and it would be awkward to cross back towards the right. More bats were going this way anyhow so it was best to team up.

"Ok jus-" Donald was interrupted by Ana instantly tossing fire into the air with a spell. "Don't catch me on fire this time..."

But it was too late. Donald knew he was defeated the moment the flames launched from her wand. A single bat met the full fury of her power while the overkill attack meant it would spread around them. It didn't go right for Donald this time but it did get hot real quick.

"Well... that was close." He said with a big grin as Ana managed to escape the flames. "INCENDIO!"

Now Donald would show off his own magic. The flames aimed at another Bat but this spell was not incendio duo. It would simply scorch the bat who would scream in pain before it fell to the stone floor. No flames went off track (this time). Hopefully Ana would be impressed with this move. Donald also really needed to make sure her name was Ana.

Anastasia was going to set him on fire, shove his wand somewhere a wand ought not to go, and more than likely simply murder him. What was he doing? There were now 7 bats that would likely split up further. "Are you actually stupid? I'm serious, how hard did that helmet hit you?" Anastasia said, her dark eyes flashing dangerously. "Walk away. Right now"

She highly doubted that he was going to listen to her instructions, but it was worth a shot. ANnnnd now he was grinning at her like a complete and utter clown. Incendio shot from his wand and she wanted to curse. This was worse than last time since now, he would probably magically kill her and be proud of it.

The remaining 8 bats scattered to either side of the ceiling, dropping lovely little presents on Ana and Donald as they flew about. "Pluvia Velo!" she said quickly, casting the umbrella charm over only herself. She quite frankly hoped that he got covered in bat droppings. That would serve him right. Once the bats stopped raining on them, she flicked the transparent blue umbrella away, and shot two more streams of fire at the bats, leaving only 6 more for them to deal with. Well, these 6 and then the other 7 that they she would have to track down, but right now, she was dealing with these ones.

Maybe this girl was just really angry inside. Donald was starting to wonder if she truly did despise him. That seemed harsh but it was possible. The poop raining down didn't help him think too hard though as he had to act quickly to prevent it from hitting him. There wasn't some fancy shield spell for Donald to use that he knew off hand. Such a thing was too easy. But an idea did come to mind that would have a similar effect in the end.

"Multicorfors!" He bellowed with his wand pointed at his own head.

Fairly instantly, Donald's hat turned into an adorable umbrella hat of sorts. Rainbow colored of course with a little attachment going to his head (much like his constant use of this spell). The poop bounced off the strange apparatus before plopping onto the stone floor with an audible splat. Flames once more rose from the Gryffindor as she expertly flung her spell upwards. Donald was impressed as she took down a couple more of the creatures. Those poor things.

"Oh," was all Donald could say in response at first. "Did you get my letter?"

There was no better time to ask about a date than while crap was literally raining down around them. It really set the mood. Donald would wait to hear her answer before helping further. His spell focus wasn't strong enough to do both. If he tried doing a spell while nervously waiting for a response he'd probably turn the bats into super bats.

Ana wrinkled her nose at his umbrella hat. He would literally have bat crap on his hat for the rest of the day, and really, anytime that he wore it ever again. Who would do that? She supposed it was marginally better than having the bats poop on your head or something, but not by much. When his response to her murdering several bats was to ask if she had gotten his letter, she knew one time for certain. Between this and their last encounter, this boy was utterly bat shit crazy.

If her answer were not already a hard and absolute no, it certainly would be one with him asking when bat droppings were raining from the sky and he was rather covered in them. In any event, she already had a date, or rather two of them, since she had been unclear in her invitation to Scott. That was something she would need to deal with later, but she was more focused on the insane person and bats at the moment. "I did," she told him, before casting Incendio again and dropping another bat. She didn't think that saying anymore was necessary since if she was planning on accepting his asinine invitation, she would have accepted it by now. She was attempting to be somewhat gracious since he clearly didn't have much dignity to lose, so she would give him the opportunity to preserve what little he had. She wasn't completely cruel and evil after all.
