Dear Pericles Drat Dalt Dralt,
It is no secret that another Blossom Ball is happening this year. Word has spread like wildfire. Anyways, thats not why I wanted to owl you- actually no it is. I'm not so good at these sorts of things, so forgive me if I come off too strongly.
I have seen how these events go down, and I was wondering if you would like to accompany me. I'm afraid Schrödinger will not be coming with me this time around though- as I have learned dances are unfortunately not for cats.
If you feel that you should decline, that is all swell. I hope that you will at least save me a dance, if that is the case.
Your friend Sincerely,
- Xailah Alptraum

A delicate hand, the pressing of wax, the sealing of the parchment. The letter was off to its destination. She did not know how this boy got involved in the mess of planning for a secret ball, but she wanted to be there for when everything turned to shit. She needed answers and he seemed to be good at collecting clues- this way would ensure she could get closer to the answers she needed. Being a participant of two balls, and the fire starter for one, she knew that not everyone could be saved. But the least she could do was save him and the possibility of getting answers if the situation called for it.
Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

Xailah was competent. She was clever and quick, but that didn't make the situation any less daunting for the first-year. He had just declared (with ink on paper, that was practically a document!) his first friend. The very last thing he wanted was to lose her so soon. Pericles reread his words, unable to shake an uneasy frown, cursing his own inability to insist that she avoid the absurd affair altogether. With a pet of gratitude and grimace of reluctance, he sent the Great Horned Owl off, letter wrapped in twine and clutched in beak.Dear Xailah,@Xailah Alptraum
You have an enviable nose for secrets. I'm sorry I wasn't the one to tell you about this one, but if I am absolutely honest, I had half hoped the rumor wouldn't find you. Please don't think that I wouldn't want to see you- it's just that I have a horrible feeling about this event. With all the things brewing under the school's surface (remember when we first met, and you told me Hogwarts is riddled with secrets?), I'm worried about students congregating away from the school, but it isn't as though I can stop them either. I'm going to come along and try to keep an eye on things. I would be a dreadfully droll companion for the night, but if you're truly set on coming, I hope we have time to talk, and I'd be delighted to dance. You have been so kind to me. I want us to be friends, you don't deserve to feel alone... aside from the company of Sir Schrödinger, that is. Please be safe.
Your friend,
Peri

Dear Pericles Dralt,
As someone who is inviseeble invisible to half of the student body, it was only a matter of time until I found out about the ball. People here, pay no heed to who they whisper secrets to. Besides, the way I see it, its better that I found out now, rather than later- or never for that matter.
I think you fail to remember what house I am in- I understand your concerns, but I simply can not let you attend that ball with only incompetent peers to accompany you. So you should expect to see me there. I can hold my own. Trust me.
However, if something does happen, and I am unable to attend, I beg you, please do not touch any food or beverages that may be served. Do not stray from the herd, but do not follow them if a panic does surface. They will throw you to the wolves, if given the chance.
Yours Truly,
- Xailah Alptraum
P.S: It charms me to read that you want us to be friends. I was never good with the whole friend thing, if I'm being honest. Though, I hope you're not claiming friendship, because you feel that you owe me for something.

He did it. He staked a claim she never wanted to make, nor did she reciprocate. Her only interest was keeping her information broker around. Now she was faced with the troubling task of keeping up the farce she had stumbled into- a task which was much easier said than done. Feeling confident, she signed off with a: yours truly. It was much harder for the metamorph to write this letter, than the last one.
Perhaps it was because she was accepting the inevitable doom that would probably befall the ball. A tear raced down her cheek as she remembered her prior traumas, it was too fast to catch. It splattered on the letter she was writing. The indigo ink used for her signature, bled into an odd circular pattern. "Ah. I ruined it. Darn." She wiped her cheek with a had that was free of ink. She traced over her signature one last time, so it was at least semi-legible.
"Good enough for now." She sniffled, before heating up the wax to seal the letter with. Droplets of deep purple- nearly black wax, fell onto the envelope; ensuring that it would remain sealed. She pressed down on the warm wax, with her own little stamp, leaving behind the imprint of a moth. "You know where to go." She slipped the parchment into the beak of the owl, that had delivered the previous letter. The ball of feathers blinked down at her.
Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....
