Homework and a Good Book Open

Joey sat down at a table and pulled out his potions book, parchment and a quill, before dumping his bag at his feet. He was determined to get his homework done this time. Last time he had attempted it - in the study room - Peeves had come bursting in throwing opened bottles of ink around like water-balloons. Joey had been one of the few that had managed to avoid being splattered head-to-toe in black, inky stains.
He pulled his notes from potions class towards him and looked at the first question he had written down.
Please describe the rules of Potion class, and explain why they are important.
What were the rules of potions class? He had been told so many rules for different things in the past few days, he didn't know which rules belonged to what anymore. He cast his mind back, trying to focus on potions class specifically, before pulling an empty sheet of parchment towards him, loading up his quill and beginning to write.
Some time had passed before Joey looked up. He had finished the first, second and third questions and although nothing had distracted him, he felt his fingers needed a break from writing. Looking around, he could see quite a few people, although nobody was making much noise. Sir Nicholas, the Gryffindor House Ghost, was snoozing in an empty armcharir in the corner, although he kept sinking though it and waking himself up, much to his own annoyance. He looked down and read the next question, before picking up his potions textbook and looking at the index to find a suitable potion to use as an example.
Some time later, after breaking a quill and almost knocking over a bottle of ink,Joey finished his homework. Carefully making sure it was dry so he didn't smudge it, he put it in his bag along with his book and notes. Looking at the clock, he decided he must have been quicker than he tought doing his potions homework, as he still had an hour before dinner. He thought about looking at his other homework, before opting instead to pick a book from one of the many, many shelves and read. After walking past what must have been thousands of books, Joey settled on a green, pocket-sized, soft-bound, leather book - Beautiful Beasts of the British Isles by Newt Scamander. It looked like it very much pre-dated his famous Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. It claimed, on the inside page, to be copy 7 of 50, which made Joey wonder who had the privilege of owning the other 49 copies.
He wandered off between the bookshelves and found a soft-looking, faded-purple sofa, on which he could sit and read his book. Magical creatures had excited him ever since he had found out Unicorns and Dragons were real, and couldn't wait to see what else he could find.

Aquarius found herself for the 5th time that week back in the library. She just found it very amusing.
She was very worn out from flying class. Aquarius never knew what she was capable of.
With bruises on each side of Aquarius's arm she was exhausted and had sat down on a Malachite looking like mini couch.
"Gosh! I'm so exhaust-" Aquarius was then cut off by the Librarian telling her to be quiet.
" Sorry!" She had whispered back feeling ashamed.
A few minutes later Aquarius was pacing around the library trying to do something, she wondered as she had almost forgotten she was in a Library.
Oh gosh! She thought to herself face palming herself as well.
Aquarius then went over to her favorite book.
Fantastic beasts and where to find them
Yes! She had thought to herself to herself happier than ever.
Aquarius then had opened up to the front cover to see Harry Potters signature.
Wow! Just wow! Aquarius thought to herself and smiled. Aquarius had always wished that she could have that book. Ever since her first day of Hogwarts.
She then walked over to a sofa and sat down to an Amber orange sofa as she seen that the only person that was by the sofas were her and a boy on a faded-purple sofa.
S-Should I say hi? She wondered as she was starting to read more into her book.

Joey looked up and as the girl approached and smiled at her, noticing the book in her hands was a copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, before looking back down at his book and wondering why she was reading a battered library copy instead of her own. It didn't take long before he was, once more, lost in the words of his book.
Some time had passed and Joey looked up again.
"Hi", he said, trying not to break her concentration on reading too much. She looked nice enough to talk to, Joey thought, noticing she was wearing Gryffindor robes and hoping she wouldn't snap at him for interrupting.
"So you like Newts books too then?", he added, trying to make it more than a simple hello. He had liked Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but was enthrawled by his new find. The book was written almost like a diary or log, with Newt writting about his life and finding all sorts of magnificent creatures, with an encyclopedia-like page at the end of each chapter for every new creature covered. It was almostlike reading a story, Joey thought, and that was what he found so capturing about it.

Aquarius was so intrigued into her book that she hadn't heard the boy on the faded-purple sofa say 'Hi'. A second or two later she had looked up at the boy with the blue robes. By far for what she knew, he had been a Raven claw. He looked like he had the expression that he had said something. Aquarius just decided to say a little,
" Hello!" She said with a nervous chuckle hoping the Ravenclaw wouldn't be disturbed by her hello. She had almost looked back into her book until she heard him start to speak.
"So you like Newts books too then?" He had asked looking at her book.
" Oh yeah. I guess so. I'm kinda new to these types of books." Aquarius had admitted, with a smile. She remembered that someone put a fake signature in her book. She became a little mad about that but she ignored that fact and looked back at him with another smile.
She knew she should be looking for books on sicknesses that make people die. It wasn't homework but to herself, it was something she should find. Her mother had a sickness and she wanted to know what it was. Yet she had been busy for the past week on her homework that she finally had gotten done.
Hm. I wonder if I should ask him if knows much about- never mind. I just need to be patient She thought to herself anxious to find her book. But now she was in a conversation that she did not want to ignore.

Joey was a bit dissapointed by her answer, but not everyone had the same enthusiasm he did.
"I read that book in three days! I wish we didn't have to wait until third year for Care of Magical Creatures. I want to start now. There's loads of creatures we could study that aren't dangerous..." he trailed off, realising he was talking quite loudly and seeing the librarian had just shot him a stern look. He continued in a hushed voice, "We do herbology in first year and there's plants way more dangerous than alot of creatures." He had read in books, from wanting to find out as much as possible about the magical world so he didn't feel out of place, about plants whose pollen burns you or seeds that begin to hiss followed by a small explosion when you pick them up. He had even read about a vine that wraps you up tighter, the more you struggle.
He looked at the girl sat across from him, "Sorry, I'm Joey, I never introduced myself." He was still getting used to actually talking to people and having to tell them who he was, although he liked having people to share things with - especially people that didnt think he was odd.

Aquarius was shocked by how much the Raven claw knew about plants and animals. She stood there shocked until he had introduced himself,
"Sorry, I'm Joey, I never introduced myself."
Aquarius smiled and started to introduce herself as well,
" I'm Aquarius Laven. It's nice to meet you. I love books a lot, but I'm not that fast of a reader." Aquarius said getting up.
" But I also wanna keep reading it. I don't know why but I just like looking at it every now and then because i'm fascinated by the creatures in there." Aquarius said and then looked around with her head.
" Do you know where I could get other interesting books?" She asked in curiosity as she set down Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. She then felt her scratches against her arm but then covered them so it wasn't noticeable, her flying class was harsh once she landed, and she didn't want people to try to take her to the nurse. She knew she could handle it. At least she thought. She then picked up her wand just incase he shows her a high book that she can't reach. Aquarius was used to getting hurt a lot, she had liked to climb trees and all sorts. But with the grasp of her Aspen wood wand, she felt a bit better.

"What kind of book do you want to find? I mean all books are interesting, you just need to figure out what you want to read about. That's one of my favourites," he looked down at her copy of Fantasic Beasts and paused, "Every book can teach you something new, you know." He pulled a book off a shelf within his reach and looked at the cover. It was pale blue with loopy gold writing across it, above a photo of a blonde, blue-eyed wizard beaming back at him, his pearly white teeth glistening. Magical Me by Gilderoy Lockhart.
"Hey, didn't he used to teach here?" he asked, half recognising the name from a list of ex-teachers he had seen. "I think he taught Defense Against the Dark Arts," he said thoughtfully as he flicked the book open to find another picture of Lockhart smiling up at him, this time wearing robes a horrible shade of turquoise. "Thinks a lot of himself, this man," he muttered to himself, under his breath, as he noticed the first four pages were all photos of the same wizard smiling at waving at him, or blowing him kisses.
He snapped the book shut, put it back on the shelf, stood up next to Aquarius and pocketed his little green book.
"Do you want to head down to dinner?" he asked cheerily, forgetting Aquarius was a Gryffindor and would be sat at a different table.
