"Wingardium Leviosa!" , George muttered over and over, as he watched his blue quill hover, as if floating, up and down. As he set it down for the 13th time, he heard a quick snapping of wings, then a feathery mass of white landed on his shoulder, shielding his eyes. "Aurora! How are you? My mom's writing, right?" .
Aurora blinked her amber eyes at him twice. Does she mean my mom's not writing?, George wondered. Then he saw the package Aurora had brought. It was long. Long with a capital L.
An idea suddenly hit George. He quickly tore the parcel open. Out fell a letter. He unfolded it and read:
His heart hammered against his Adam's apple. Lily was right, he did guess what was in there. Well, almost.Hi George,
Now, now, I hope you haven't opened the parcel? Good boy. Go to the Grounds this evening and then open it. I won't say what's in there. But you've probably guessed, right, smartie pants?
~Lily and Mom
He got up and pointed his wand at the package. "Wingardium Leviosa!", he muttered. The package flew up. George rushed down the stairs, two steps at the time. By the time he reached the Courtyard, he was already out of breath. He ripped open the parcel. Out rolled a long, black, bent piece of wood with some brown at one end. On the black glittered the words 'Comet 180'. Oh, and another letter was wrapped around the handle. A short message read,
George folded it and put it in his pocket. Then he stretched out his hand and said, "UP!" The broomstick got on his hand. As he got onto it and soared up to the purple sky above him, he felt a renewed sense of weightlessness.I got to know that you signed up for Quidditch Chaser tryouts.
~Dad

18 Galleons of Wood… And A New Friend
August was sitting peacefully on the ground, paper and quill in hand as she wrote down quick notes from a book perched on her knee. As much as she enjoyed spending time in the library she always did love working outside. She believed it was because the fresh air helped cleanse her mind and rid it of negative thoughts or emotions which significantly helped her efficiency.
She was mid-writing for a phrase from the book when she heard a commotion, catching her off guard and startling her which led her hand jolting out, leaving an illegible scribble of ink across her paper.
Looking up in frustration she quickly found the source. It was a boy, one she believed she recognized from seeing in the halls up in the air on what she assumed was a new broom he had just received, given the excitement and torn paper on the ground.
She took a pause before standing, debating whether or not to say something. Twigs and gravel crunching beneath her step as she made her way towards where he was previously standing and crossing her arms, a neutral, curious expression on her face as she stood planted on the ground, watching the boy above her with a slight smile.
