The Wrong Day to Be Late!
@Maximilianus Kenneally Vidler2/11/26"Me? I'm fine. You? Did you swallow anything? Any of it at all? Even just a tiny little droplet?" she asked, very very worried. She knew that she was unaffected, but she didn't know about him.
"I didn't forget anything. Do you think you did?" she asked when he asked how he was supposed to know if he did.
"I suppose we'd just...feel a gaping hole in our memories? I'm not really sure. Do you know where you are? Do you know who you are? Do you know who I am?" she asked, still very nervous. If he couldn't even remember who he was, who she was, and where they were, then he most definitely had lost at least some of his memories.
She knew that he was probably scared too, and she decided to try to not make him any more terrified than he already was. She doubted anything had happened, because he'd spit it out, but literally one swallowed droplet could be absolutely catastrophic.
"Oh, gosh, that was pretty crazy! Thank goodness nothing bad happened, right?" she said, walking back over to their table. She found a towel and began to dry up the Lethe River Water, making sure not to touch it with her bare hands just in case. She managed to get it all dried up.

His mum and da, his sister Drew. The tent they lived in, all the hidden spots they had camped through the years. It all seemed to be there. Even the mess he made of his fathers potions lab over Christmas break was fresh in his mind. So he turned his attention to the friends he had made. Name after name, checked off. He couldn’t see that he had forgotten anything.
The color in his face was slowly receding, and he nodded shakily. «I think I’m alright too.» He counted on his fingers as he answered all she had asked. «We are in potions, at Hogwarts. My name hasn’t changed, It’s Max.» Now he paused. He was pretty sure he hadn’t forgotten his partner, but he was forever unsure about her name. So he scrunched up his face and made the best guess he could. «And your name is Rose Thorn…right?»
He dragged a hand through his hair as they returned to their workstation. «Yeah, thank Merlin…» It had definitely been more pure luck than anything else that was to thank. But the quick thinking of the Slytherin was admirable too.
He stood idly by as she dried up the leftover droplets. He had a feeling that was what was best. Him getting involved would only cause another disaster, and he didn’t think neither of them would be up for that right now. When she finished, his gaze slid to their cauldron. It was probably not long until it should be removed from the heat. Then they only needed to add the Lethe River Water. He looked back at her.
«I’m gonna get another vial, okay? But I think it’s best if you add it when the time comes…» He waited long enough for her to approve, before he crossed the room once again. Picking up the tiny vial, he held it with both hands. Crossing the room took a lot more time this time. One step at the time, almost gliding his feet instead of lifting them. Nonetheless he returned eventually. He placed it down on the table, and took a small step backwards, just to be on the safe side.

@Maximilianus Kenneally Vidler2/11/26"Good, yes, you're right. And close enough on my name, it's Rosalyn Willows, but I don't think you've forgotten anything!" Rosie said, after he went through his whole list of the things he remembered.
She finished up with the rest of the water, including the few drops that had made their way to the floor.
She looked at the cauldron, wanting to make sure that the rest of their potion was alright after the whole Lethe River Water debacle. Luckily, it looked to be fine, and she finished up with stirring it.
"Alright, just please be careful with it." she said when he told her she was going to get another vial. She thought that the idea of her adding it in was the best bet, at least for the moment, to avoid any other potential catastrophes.
She watched as he made his way back to the table, being remarkably careful with the new vial. She was surprised that nobody else had noticed just what was going on with them, but that was a good thing. She didn't want to get in trouble or something for being part of this situation!
"Perfect!" she said, acknowledging the fact that he'd made it back over without causing any forms of chaos, which she was quickly gathering that chaos was sort of tied to him.
She poured the water in, and finished up the rest of the potion.
"Here we go! Let's go and turn this in before something bad happens." she said, handing Max the other vial she'd capped of securely, full of the potion.
She walked up to the front to turn her own potion in, proud of the fact that they'd managed to accomplish a complete and hopefully working potion even after everything that had happened!

It would have been just his luck to stumble and manage to spray everyone with a broken vial. But thankfully, luck seemed to be on their side today.
He remained just over her shoulder as the Slytherin, Rosalyn, finished their potion. It seemed pretty right, at least to him. Probably because he had barely touched it all class. He watched as content was filled into two vials. How did she manage to stay so calm? If they had switched places, he probably would have broken all vials, poured the potion on the floor, and probably dropped the cauldron too. He was thankful to say the least.
He accepted the vial with two hands and a smile. «Fantastic! You know… despite the near accident, this is one of the better potion lessons I’ve had.» He shrugged as he followed after her and handed in the potion. «It usually ends in much bigger disasters… Perhaps we could partner up another time too!» It would be ideal, at least for him. He had to get a passing grade somehow.
He returned to their workstation and began packing up. Not that there was much to assemble, as within a minute he hooked his bag over his shoulder. Ready to go, but he patiently waited for her before heading out. «We just had lunch, and I already can’t wait for dinner!»

Rosie didn't know how she'd managed to remain so calm while pouring the potion into the vials, but somehow, she didn't freak out or panic or spill even a drop at all! She was quite proud of the fact, and not in the mood for any disasters, so she was glad that she'd managed the feat.
"Me too! It was a lot of fun, if you take out the near-memory loss, fainting, and overall panic!" she said, laughing a bit. She really couldn't believe that she'd fainted, as she hadn't done that in a very long time, if ever. She felt fine though, a bit tired from the taxing situation but overall just fine.
"I'd like that! Just as long as you won't die, kill me, or lose your memory." she said to his suggestion about another future partnership.
She saw him put his bag on, waiting for her before he walked out of the room, which she appreciated. She put her things in and slung the bag over her own shoulder, meeting him there.
"Me too! The food here is amazing, and I'm almost always excited for it!" she said, very much getting the excitement.
"Well, I gotta go. But thanks for an interesting class!" she said, waving goodbye before leaving, off to wherever she was going next.
