h soft jingle of her purse from the new coins inside could be heard as she, the professor and her mom made their way down the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley. They passed by broomstick shops, robe shops and the like. Soon they began to approach a shop where a few students and parents sat, each enjoying a soft treat. Anna tugged eagerly on her moms shirt. "Mama, can we get some ice cream?
Please?"
Theresa's eyes studied the shop; Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour for a moment. "Alright, but not too much, you'll spoil your appetite for dinner."
The professor let them know she would be doing a little errand while mom and daughter take a break from shopping. So it was just Anna and Theresa heading inside. A little jingle sounded as they did, and they were greeted by a friendly face and voice.
"Welcome to Fortescue's. Looks like it's been a busy day of shopping for you. New student eh?" The shopkeeper said brightly.
Anna gave him a warm, but nervous kind of smile, staying close to her moms side.
"Yes sir." she replied.
"Well, we've got plenty of options for you guys today. Come take a look!" Anna and her mom listened and viewed the choices as they were read out to them. There were the usual flavors that one might find at any muggle shop. But then, they had other flavors that were surprising.
Bertie Botts Jelly Bean mix, chocolate frog crunch, licorice wand ice cream, etc. A part of her wanted to experiment. But the more cautious side of her didn't want to choose a flavor she wouldn't end up liking, not when she was eager for a sweet treat to satisfy. So she went with her preferred; chocolate chip mint and fudge chocolate.
Her mom got a single cone with vanilla and a cherry and the two took their seat outdoors under an umbrella to enjoy.
