Vera learned that, despite being set alight, one must continue flinging spells lest they so much as get pummelled to the ground. The movement duellists did during their matches helped put out the flames eventually. Of course, patting yourself down sped up the process, but it often felt like a waste of time and energy. The enemy was still going to throw a spell at you, so it was often better to reciprocate that with another spell.

So, Vera did. She could fight fire with fire, fling a Fire-Making Spell at Raizel. Though, its strength would barely rival the older Gryffindor's own. A Knockback Jinx was a classic option, but surely there was something that could both wear the opponent down and still do some damage, no?

Tickling charms were the next best option, then. Herbology had taught her one version of it, but there was another version which seemed more common in duelling that she had taught herself one evening. She pointed her wand at Raizel, blanked for a second, then finally said, "Rictusempra!"

The split second hesitation definitely cost her her aim and her focus, because in the next second, she was on the floor. The instinct to blink was blocked by whatever had washed over her, and even her grip on her wand felt foreign. What...?

What's the next move here? Another attack spell? If she wanted to end this quickly before she humiliates herself then yes but she could never deny the part of her that wanted to try the new spells she had learned. This was her chance to do so. Is she really going to experiment on some spells on a first year though? Who was watching right now? What would they think of her? Cruel? Merciless? No, if one could see her right now, the correct one was…

Stop!

She was getting distracted again within her own head, a habit that she had picked up since everything just felt wrong for her. That moment had caused her to lose focus, a terrible mistake, especially when she was in the middle of a duel. In a rush to make her move, she just casted whatever came into her mind and that was: “Petrificus Totalus!” Now, what came next was… unexpected. That spell was a lot more powerful than she had anticipated and her wand was being cooperative as well even though they barely knew each other yet. She remembered being a target of that spell before and it felt awful just lying on the floor, watching your teammates go down while you couldn't do anything. That had truly made her feel so useless and weak. Of course, even if she was good at casting, it doesn't change the fact that she was still slow on her feet. Really? Getting hit by another spell? It was laughable and that wasn't just the tickling spell talking.

The Blonde seemed to be trying to free herself from the curse that had been cast on her. But nothing happened. She was still stiff on the piste with some subtle movements that definitely couldn't help her at all. It was the power of a curse, something that Zach didn't have. The boy performed very poorly in Dark Charms to the point that he gave up. At the very least, he knew the mechanism. He just hoped the exam wouldn't need him to cast any Dark Charms, or he would be doomed.

His gaze moved from the Blonde to the Brunette. The effect of the previous Tickling Charm could be seen towards the girl. She might feel something very uncomfortable on her body, something that could force her to laugh, but not in a good way. Zach felt that this charm shouldn't be called charm. It was more like Dark Charms. Perhaps a Jinx?

But the thought vanished when he saw Raizel move forward, still with the magical power that forced her to laugh. Zach is afraid that if she still has the effect, her muscles would be exhausted.

But intervention must not happen.

At least for now.

Zach stayed silent in the corner of the hall.

Once a player reaches the edge of a field and got hit by another spell, they must perform a Str vs. Arc check to see if they go out of bounds or not

Each player has 3 potions slot to be able to use potions. Once the slots are consumed, they are not able to use anymore potion

Potion actions takes place before the spell actions

Out of bounds is considered knocked out

For potions aimed at opponents, perform an Acc vs. Eva check

Upon succesful potion use for Contact and Gaseous, target takes 10 dmg and has a 5% bleed chance (-5 hp for 4 rounds)

Ah, she knows damn well how much it sucks being petrified. Watching Verity try to break free from it reminded her how she was struck by the same spell during her first duel. Unfortunately, their opponent decided to mark her as probably the greatest threat in their team and what better ways to hinder than to make her unable to duel? To make it worse, her teammates were… let's just say they weren't doing so well to simply put it in a nice way. It was in the past now after all so might as well put it behind her.

Instead of beating an already down opponent, Raizel took her time to try and regain her composure, fighting the urge to laugh from the still ongoing effect of the tickle charm. It was awful but with how many times she had been struck by it, she had better tolerance to it compared to the first time she was under it. Looking back, she was getting too close to the edge and that won't do her no good. She bit her lip, not caring if it bleeds if that was the only way to stop herself from laughing. Slowly, but surely, she began to move forward, moving away from the end of the piste but only just a bit until she paused once she knew she was far enough.

Now then, what was the next step here?
