If there’s ever a reason for Corrine to regret being in Ravenclaw, it’d be because of the number of stairs she has to go through just to eat. By the time she’s made it out of the Grand Staircase and actually approaching the entrance of the Great Hall, not only is her stomach already rumbling in complaint, but her feet are also aching.
Frowning slightly, Corrine adjusts her hold on her small messenger bag. If that’s what I have to go through everyday just to eat my meals at the Great Hall, maybe it’s best if I stay out of the tower as much as possible, she thinks with a wince. But at the same time, if I stay down here for too long, somebody might approach..
As she quietly steps into the hall, her eyes glance around. Unsurprisingly, there are few students up and about. Even with the time she spent walking down the tower to get here, most students would still be in bed. The likelihood of Robin and Alexander meeting up with her this early is low, that much is clear.
But honestly? Perhaps this is better that she got here early. The students that are here are barely awake themselves, and they don’t spare her a glance as she passes by. Feeling considerably less anxious, Corrine lets herself absorb the details of the Great Hall.
I wonder if giants exist in the Wizarding World, she thinks dazedly as she stares up at the far-away ceiling. And if they do, can they reach that? I should look into that after class.. maybe I should go to the library.
Her eyes trail down to the four long tables. She didn’t want to stare, so she just stiffly walked past and plops down on the closest empty seat at the Ravenclaw table. The girl sets down her bag on the table, sighing in relief as the pain in her feet slightly subside now that she’s sitting.
It’s still too early, I shouldn’t expect them to get here so soon. With nothing further to do, Corrine just reaches for a small book in her bag, fishing it out. She smiles as she opens it, deciding to continue from where she left off the night before.

Robin adjusted his - not his glasses this time - his tie. It was the first day of classes and he would like to leave a good impression on the teachers. He patted his robes to make sure they aren't wrinkled or dusty, though it'd be too late if they actually were. Robin tied his shoulder-length hair into a small ponytail, trying to leave no loose strands on his face. This is because he's about to go eat breakfast, and he wouldn't want any of his hair to get in the food.
After making sure he got everything he needed in his bag, Robin nodded to himself as reassurance, then stepped out of his room and walked with a steady pace towards the Great Hall. The process was unideal, but once he got to the bottom of the stairs, his mind wandered to what foods the school would prepare for them today. His stomach rumbled, mouth watering. His pace quickened a bit as he got closer to his destination, finally arriving at the open doors.
Robin observed his surroundings. There were quite some students here already, but not enough to fill the room. It was around 8:20. He planned to get here exactly five minutes before the scheduled time with Corrine and Alexander, but his hunger persuaded him to be even earlier. To his relief, he won't be awkwardly waiting for them and have to defend the seats next to him for ten minutes, Corrine was already here. Looks like she came a little early too. He didn't know when she arrived, but that wasn't too much of his concern. He was early, that's his choice. She's also early, that's her choice. Robin walked towards an open seat next to her, "Good mornin." He then sat down and stretched his back, "Long walk, eh?"

Twenty or so minutes have passed since she sat down at the Ravenclaw table. Students have been quietly trickling in, but Corrine doesn’t look at them, still buried in the book she’s currently reading.
It’s only until Corrine feels somebody sit next to her that she finally looks up, only to flinch in surprise. “Good mornin’.” Robin greets, having silently moved next to her. It takes her a bit to respond, still shocked by his early appearance.
“Good morning,” Corrine stutters out a greeting as the surprise passes, letting her relax. “You’re early too.” She puts her book aside carefully, placing a pressed flower bookmark to ensure she didn’t lose what page she was on.
“Long walk, eh?” Robin says, stretching his back. With a soft groan, Corrine nods.
“Very. My heels are still in pain from walking down the tower and the staircases. I’m not even wearing uncomfortable shoes.” She can’t help but whine slightly, not liking the aching sensation she could still feel in her feet. It’s true as well; although they aren’t as comfortable as sneakers would be, Corrine’s Mary Janes are still considerably comfortable due to their padding.. and yet even they did nothing against the pain of walking down so many stairs.
Pushing her complaints aside, Corrine perks up, as if remembering something. “Oh, right! I just remembered something..” She reaches into her bag, bringing out what seems to be a decently-sized pouch.. of treats?
She places it in front of Robin, averting her eyes in embarrassment.
“..I was supposed to give you this on the train when the trolley witch came, but you fell asleep and we got separated after we got to Hogwarts. Then, I was supposed to try and give it to you yesterday.. but I forgot. I ended up just bringing it to you today.” Corrine’s cheeks flush. “I didn’t know what you liked, so I just grabbed two of everything.”

Alexander had woken up earlier than usual.
Not because he wanted to. He wasnt a morning person at all.
But because his brain refused to let him continue sleeping.
The words had been sitting there, replaying over and over in his mind. The plan. The invitation. The fact that he had said yes. Which still surprised him!
but…He didnt have to not go i mean they were still strangers to him, noone could force him to go.
That thought lingered for a while.
But for some reason.
He still got up.
Slowly.
More put-together than usual.
His dark pink contacts were in today because he got uncomfortable looking at him self in the mirror and not seeing the dark pink colour, he didnt have a tragic backstory for why he didnt like his eye clour he just didnt. His hair normally messy had actually been brushed which he rarely did he never used to have a reason to brush his hair his parents were very paranoid and never really let him leave the castle until now.
He stared at himself for a moment before leaving.
Good enough. He thought sighing a rubbing his face.
The walk down the stairs was… exhausting.
Too many steps. Too many turns. Too many chances to run into people.
But he made it without getting lost.
And when he stepped into the Great Hall
He paused.
taking it in.
It was quieter than his first day here less people were in the hall so it was so be expected but still
That helped.
His gaze moved across the Ravenclaw table
And stopped.
Corrine.
Already there.
Reading.
And
Robin.
Sitting beside her.
Talking.
Something in his chest tightened briefly.
Not bad.
Just… unfamiliar.
They’re already talking. And Corrine was giving something to Robin. They seemed close of course they were, they probably knew eachother longer than he knows them.
He hesitated at the entrance for a second too long.
Then.
Forced himself to move. He came this far he cant chicken out now!
Step by step, he approached the table, movements quieter than most, almost like he didn’t want to interrupt anything.
When he reached them, he stopped just slightly behind the bench.
“…morning,” he said softly.
His voice was quiet, shaky.
He slid into the seat beside them, leaving a small, careful space not too far, not too close.
His hands rested briefly on the table before he pulled them back into his sleeves slightly.
His eyes flickered to Corrine’s book.
“…what were you reading?” he asked, a bit more naturally than expected.
Then, almost like he remembered something
He reached for food.
Toast and tea.

Before Robin could even respond, quiet footsteps approached. When Corrine looks up, she’s greeted by Alexander’s presence. Although the boy looked ready to curl into himself and roll away (like a hedgehog, almost!). He seems more relaxed knowing that there’s still less people in the Great Hall than expected.
Upon seeing him, Corrine perks up, a bright smile coming to her face. She waves, clearly happy to see him as well. “Good morning, Alexander.” She returns his greeting, moving to make space for Alexander to sit. The pouch for Robin remains in front of him, and instead, she reaches into her bag.
“I still have a bit of treats left from the train ride here, and if you’d like some, I don’t mind sharing.” She mumbles in embarrassment. She wishes she could reverse time so that she could buy treats for Alexander back then too, but how would she have known? They hadn’t met back then.
I should get him a gift when I can, she thinks to herself as she places the other bag of treats between them to be shared.
Alexander’s eyes flicker over to her book, which is now sitting peacefully on the table. “..What were you reading?” He quietly asks. The girl perks up, always excited to talk about her books as per usual.
“I’m reading one of my favorite books! It’s a novel from the Muggle world, and it’s called ‘A Man Called Ove’. It’s about a grumpy old man who’s learning how to deal with grief with the help of love from his community—” She rambles happily, showing Alexander the cover. She didn't even seem to remember that she could begin grabbing food, even as her stomach rumbles slightly.

Robin looked at the treats in front of him. Ah yes, the trolly incident. Not that anything bad happened, the treats just reminded him of an embarrassing memory on the train. For those who don't know, this genius didn't want to interact with the trolly witch so he pretended to fall asleep, but couldn't really get himself to wake up after Corrine - like the considerate girl she is - put her cardigan over him like a blanket. It was too awkward for Robin to open his eyes and admit faking tiredness at the moment, so he just kept his them closed and listened to whatever's going on around him. That lasted for a long time - hours, to be precise - until they arrived at Hogwarts in the evening and she ultimately had to take off the cardigan to get off the train.
In the midst of his flashback, Alexander approached the Ravenclaw table with a soft greeting. Robin nodded and greeted back, then turning his head to thank Corrine for the treats, carefully putting away the bag.
He listened as Alexander asked about Corrine's book, while simultaneously grabbing some fried eggs and sausage. He noticed that Corrine, despite coming here the earliest, didn't have any food in her plate. Robin debated on whether or not to grab some for her when she's talking, but decided that was too much. Also he didn't know what she liked from the selection.
Robin eventually opted for a reminder. When Corrine came to a slight stop in her book sharing, he opened his mouth: "Hey, uh . . . Corrine? You want any food? It's pretty good."
"By the way, does 'A Man Called Ove' have anything to do with 'A Man Called Otto'? My nan and pops on my dad's side came to visit a couple years back, they watched a movie called that, the plot also sounded similar." Robin added, hoping to be more active in the conversation.

“…You don’t have to share,” he said quickly, almost instinctively, fingers curling slightly against the edge of the table. But after a small pause, he added, quieter, “...thank you.”
Alexander blinked listened to her talk about her book, his brain was trying to understand everything she had said. “A… Man Called Ove,” he repeated quietly, the name unfamiliar on his tongue which was expected it was a muggle book after all being a pureblood he really dont know much about muggle stuff at all.
He leaned just a little closer when she showed him the cover curiosity immediately taking over whatever nerves were left. His fingers hovered near the edge of the book for a second before he pulled them back, since its not his book.
“It sounds… interesting but sad,” he murmured, a bit unsure, but genuine.
Then.
grrrr.
His eyes flicked down.
Then back up.
Corrine’s stomach. Then Robin spoke, and Alexander’s attention shifted to him.
He blinked.
Movie?
His head tilted ever so slightly.
“…What is a movie?” he asked, a bit surprised, eyes flicking between them. “Do… books usually have those?” Then, almost as an afterthought like he remembered something important
His gaze dropped to her still-empty plate.
¨ Robin is right y-you should eat,” he said softly, not pushy, just… honest. “You look like you are tired.”

“I want to share,” The girl reassures. Then, as Robin spoke, Corrine could only blink as she glanced down at her plate. She hadn’t noticed that her stomach had been complaining, which is why she hadn’t put anything on her plate..
However, now that both of the boys mention it, she did feel quite hungry. Sheepishly, the girl flashes her friends a smile. They’re both so nice to me, she hums, happy to be friends with them. She reaches out and puts two sunny side up eggs—her favorite kind of eggs in the whole world—on her plate. She doesn’t grab anything else, just opting to turn to Robin after he had asked about the book.
Corrine’s eyes sparkle, already preparing to go on another tangent. “Well, ‘A Man Called Otto’ is actually the movie based on ‘A Man Called Ove’. I also got to watch it myself, and it’s really good! I just like the book better, but it’s no fault of the movie’s.”
At Alexander’s statement, she nods. “It’s a sad but good book, and the ending is bittersweet. I don’t want to spoil you in case you want to borrow it from me, but I really do like it.”
When Alexander asks what a movie was, Corrine freezes.
She forgot that Alexander is a pureblood with absolutely no knowledge about muggle things. Quickly, she moves to explain. “You know how the Wizarding World has moving pictures? They’re kind of like those, but for entertainment, and they usually last an hour or two.”

Alexander listened as Corrine explained what movies were.
Moving pictures… but longer? His brows furrowed slightly, trying to piece it all together in his head.
“…So it’s like reading a book?,” he murmured, more to himself than anything, “with out reading it instead you watch? is that the whole thing? ¨
He tilted his head a little, eyes drifting off for a second as he imagined it people in real life acting like his fav book character, talking, laughing, entire scenes playing out without needing to turn a page or even opening the book.
That was… oddly fascinating. He wondered if one day he could watch a movie.
“…That sounds…” he hesitated, then admitted quietly, “…intresting.”
There was a small pause before his gaze flicked back to Corrine, a bit more focused now.
“…Do they… follow the book exactly?” he asked, curiosity slipping through more clearly now. “Or do they change things like the looks or ages?”
His fingers lightly tapped against the table again.
Then he glanced at her plate.
Just eggs.
He frowned abit thats not going to do not at all.
“…Is that really enough?” he asked, softer this time, concerned.
he reached forward and very carefully nudged a piece of toast closer to her side.
Not directly handing it.
Just placing it within reach just incase she dont want it.
“…In case you know,” he mumbled, eyes immediately dropping to avoid looking at her reaction.
A faint blush crept back onto his face. Merlin his an idiot.

Robin stopped in the middle of chewing a piece of sausage he bit off. Right, Alexander is pure-blood. On the train he was the most wizard-ish person in the three, seeing both his parents had magic. However, since his dad was muggle-born, he still had his share of muggle entertainment - primarily from his passionate grandparents - despite living in a wizarding neighborhood. Robin felt a little embarrassed that he didn't consider Alexander's background before joining in the conversation.
He nodded at Corrine's explanation, swallowing the food he had in his mouth and chiming in: "The angles of the picture can change too. Think of it as when you're taking the picture, you don't click snap in one specific scene. You move the camera around, closer and further, left to right . . . it is pretty weird when you see it for the first time. As for if they often change things from the books . . . I don't watch movies much, so I can't really tell you a pattern. I think I only watched three of them? All when my nan and pops came to Scotland." He glanced at Corrine: "I honestly didn't watch the Otto movie myself, just heard them talk about it. I do normally prefer books too, anyway."
Robin hoped his explanation was enough for the pure-blood boy to imagine, but seeing as he isn't quite the film expert himself, he doubted his effectiveness. Nonetheless, he tried, talking in larger chunks than the two may be used to by now. Just like many other introverts, he isn't always a quiet creep lurking in the corner. He talks quite a lot when the subject is something he has material to share.
The Great Hall got more and more crowded, still not full but definitely more energetic. Most were excited students talking to each other about what they're looking forward to in this castle, another large portion consisted of groaning students with messy hair and frowns. Robin looked around, trying to find their Head of House, who he thinks - though he isn't absolutely sure - is the person supposed to hand out schedules.
Without too much luck, he decided to keep digging into his food. It'd be best to have a full stomach for the upcoming day of exciting lectures. He saw Alexander nudging a piece of toast closer to Corrine from the corner of his eye, deciding not to point it out due to the boy's increasingly obvious blush. Corrine might just be not hungry enough, he thought. But I guess it's fine to make sure.
