After all the new students were sorted, they all sat down at the long table for a tasty fulfilling meal. Nico watched the newcomers carefully. Observing them. Today, Professor Jensen, Head of the Snake House, had asked her to guide the newbies to what would be their home for years to come.
Quietly, Nico munched on a piece of chicken, her gaze sliding from side to side. There were all kinds of personalities. Some were hyped up. Excited to be here. They had been looking forward to this day and were even happier that they were sorted into their favourite house. On the other hand, you had the more quieter types. The famous introverts that Nico could relate with. A blonde girl sat completely still, gently poking the food that had magically appeared infront of her. It seemed that it all still needed to sink in. Poor girl.. Nico couldn't help but see herself in her.
Last year when the redhead joined, she had hoped to be sorted into Gryffindor which... ended up not happening. She was distraught and... almost depressed. Everything would've been better than being sorted into the House of Snakes. But to Nico's surprise, the Slytherin House was warmer than expected. Surely, they had a reputation of bullies... and.. hating impure wizards and witches. Not everyone in this house did so. Nico didn't atleast. Now those are ideals are mostly a stereotype. Sneks are very diverse these days.
Suddenly it sinked into her what her task for today was. Leading.. new students.. to their new home. Meeting.. new people... Gently, she placed her fork down and took a deep breath. Everything would be fine... everything would be great. You got this...
The Headmaster finished his welcoming speech after the students gobbled up their meals and with that... the nightmare began. Swallowing the last bit of chicken, Nico observed how the kids got up and almost immediately walked out the Great Hall. She had to think fast to grab their attention before they'd get lost in this way too big magical castle. Other Prefects had already found their herd of students and started to guide them to their sleeping facilities.
'E-Ehm. St-' Her social anxiety kicked in. Raising her voice above such a crowd. Could she really do it? What would they think? Maybe they'd think she's bossy and annoying.. Maybe they'd end up pushing her around and calling her names...
NO.
Before she realised, Nico elegantly hopped onto the wooden table, landing gently with a light thud, on her feet. There was no need to raise her voice. She just had to pull the attention. Don't be afraid, lil Nico. You are their guide for tonight. Some might even say, support...
Clapping her hands, her palms hitting each other in the perfect way to create a loud noise, she called out with a crystal clear voice. 'Students of Slytherin. May I have your attention, please.'
Some students didn't hear her but the ones that were closer by, managed to grab them by their cloaks or called them over. It brought a smile to the redhead dhampirs face. Many students seem to not just look at her, but stare... Nico's courage faded for a moment as she realised that she was... actually standing infront of a crowd... on a table... that they had dined at before.
'R-Right!' A soft blush on her cheeks, she cleared her throat, keeping her cool. 'Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Nico and I'll be in charge of guiding you today. I hope you guys enjoyed your first meal. Since we're not the only House giving a tour, we'll have to wait until Gryffindor finished their little speech in the foyer. Which hopefully.. won't be too long.'
Gracefully, she put her hand on her hip, her other hand pointing upwards. 'Before we walk out of here, I want to be clear about a few things. First, Slytherin is an honourable house. If you didn't wish to be sorted into our House, I can reassure you, you'll soon feel grateful that you weren't sorted anywhere else.' Nico smiled at the blonde girl she saw earlier. She wasn't convinced yet but that would surely change. The redhead was sure of it.
'Secondly, last year, we managed to install an underwater Jacuzzi at the center of our Common Room. We're the only ones who have one. We hope and expect that you keep it clean.' Her ice blue gaze scanned every face with a cold look. One of the many students swallowed softly.
'I'm kidding.' Like snow infront of the sun, her frown melted into a warm smile. 'Or am I...? Maybe it isn't in our Common Room but...' As if drawing a rainbow in the sky with the palm of her hands. '..maybe it's elsewhere. Feel free to explore the Castle. But not past curfew.'
Enough confusing the newbies.
Gracefully she got down the table and walked to the hallway. 'Alright, everyone. Let's see if we're next in line.'
The crowd of students shuffled quietly behind her, taking in the high walls. Taking a peek out at the foyer, she was happy to see that the Lions were long gone. Walking to the right, away from the center stairs. As Slytherin was located in the Dungeons, their route would go downwards and downwards only.
'Don't stay behind.' Nico flashed a warm smile over her shoulder at them before continueing to lead them.

From Sorting to Slytherin
San had gone through her sorting quietly as the hat had given her a gentle warning, but it was received nonetheless. She had walked from the hat to the Slytherin table with a stone face, one that could be perceived as smug, as her right eyebrow was slightly cocked up. Her sharp sapphire eyes looked for an empty seat before finding one closer to a blonde girl she did not know the name of nor did she at the moment care. She didn’t like being around this many people let alone with their attention focused on her though most of the students would quickly leave her alone from the fact that she didn’t smile at anyone to the cold look she leveled on them when they tried to catch her attention.
The sorting was finally finished, and food appeared making her eyes widen slightly as the large use of magic. She was used to magic sure, but this was extravagant and impressive. Before grabbing any food she stole a look up to the professors' table specifically at Professor Jensen her new head of house. She had seen this woman once during summer camp and the way the woman command attention with just a flick of her pinky was something San herself aspired to have at some point. Though she would probably need to stop glaring at everyone that moved first.
She would select a few savory items for her plate and eat with the poise of someone who was training to be an aristocrat. All thanks to her grandmother who tied her shoulders to her chair until she learned how to eat with her back completely straight without it. It could be noted that she also never touched more than a wrist to the table and only one hand raised above the table at one time unless it was necessary for her to use both hands to move or lift something.
Dinner was done and the plates were cleared leaving most of the students to get up and start heading out except her. She would have been one of the last of the first years to rise right before a girl hopped up onto the table. San’s eyes moved up to the girl's face whose goal was to have the Slytherin student’s attention. The goal had been accomplished the moment she was on the table as far as San was concerned. The girl introduced herself as Nico and San made a mental note not to forget her name as this girl as obviously somewhat important.
She spoke about a hot tub in the common room and San frowned as she looked up at Nico who seemed to be attempting to use humor to lighten the mood. She wasn’t really impressed but then again, she was quite closed off as could be seen by her arms being crossed over her chest. Nico decided they should head out, so San followed behind her, right behind her pushing her brain off of her shoulder and onto her back as she followed. Although she didn’t appreciate the humor right now, she still recognized Nico as someone she should probably know. The girl turned back around to give them a smile and she would probably notice the icicle behind her that was San her sharp eyes would meet Nico’s if Nico made eye contact with her as they continued their way down the smile was not returned only the same stoic face that she held when she left the sorting hat stool.

Interacting with @Santario Martin
As the group made their way down the long stairway to Slytherin Central, Nico decided to maybe try to have a chat with some of them. She noticed some of them were more open to social interaction than others. Which ofcourse.. was completely fine. Nico knew all too well about social awkwardness and still had her daily dose of that hellish experience.
After having a sort chat with some Slytherin boys, Nico's eye fell on a rather, special specimen. A girl with dark long hair and icey blue eyes. They kind of reminded her of her own. The girl was quite obvious very cautious and at first glance didn't seem to want to be here. Once more... relatable. Nico's first days at Hogwarts were scary and rather lonesome. Lucky it didn't last too long until a Gryffindor approached her. That Scott was still one of her best friends.
Since Nico was bad at striking up a conversation, she paused the trip downstairs for a moment, giving the students a chance to look at some suits of armors and other random magical decorations. Even though, suits of armor did actually fit this castle very well. As the crowd of studens started to casually have small talk, the small dhampir saw a chance to maybe have a talk with this new Slytherin.
Nervously, she thought of a way to not be too awkward or too overwhelming. Surely, this girl was still getting used to this new lifestyle, with all the magic and that. Maybe she was already quite familiar with magic, who knew. Nico didn't.
'So... What do you think of the school so far? Surely, you have only been here for about... a few hours?' Nico hesitantly remarked as she scratched her pale nose gently. Her first days of school weren't very memorable, how long was she even here before the sorting ceremony?
'I-I'm Nico by the way. As... well, as I already introduced myself as. Haha..' She smiled abit sheepish at the fresh Snake and tried to hold back her random small talk. Don't ramble right of the start, Nico. Hecking idiot. 'Who may you be?'

They had paused their starting trip so the students could look over the hall, get to know their surroundings and be in awe of the armor. Though Santario did look at the architecture she didn’t fawn over it. There were just so many kids here and she wanted nothing more than to put distance between herself and all of them. The girl that had to lead the tour seemed to have locked onto her and it would seem San would escape to the dungeons without a conversation. Now however she would mentally chide herself because realistically she should be trying to make friends and trying to socialize.
When asked how she liked the school so far San would offer a small shrug. “I was here for summer camp but we really weren’t allowed into the castle at that point. We’ve only been in here a handful of hours though.” The girl reintroduced herself as Nico and she seemed like she wanted to have this conversation less than she did. Santario formally holding out her in greeting. “Santario Martin, it is a pleasure to meet you, Nico.” She remembered that there was more that she should be saying. “Thank you for taking the time to give us this tour.”

From Sorting to Slytherin
After being sorted into Slytherin, Hailey calmly made her way to her designated table. She sat down admist the students she didn't know. Some gave her curious glanced then looked away while others glares at her maliciously. She stared back uneasily, though not because of them. She was still getting use to...all of this, the magic. Witches were real and she was one.
At least she wouldn't have to pretend for Halloween.
Her dirty blonde hair was tied in two low ponytails with messy bangs grazing her forehead. Hailey looked down and flinched—she was now sporting a green and silver tie. She frowned: would she ever get use to it, these sudden apparitions? Someone could get a heart attack and end up like the ghosts floating around.
Not a second later food appeared in front of her. Hailey forced herself not to flinch, noticing how not many others did, especially the Slytherins. Everyone seemed delighted at the sight of the feast so she managed a grin, picking things to eat.
Though most of it was familiar to her, she chose spaghetti and meatballs, topped with a strange sauce and a few buttered rolls.
She finished eating quickly, despite the fact that hadn't felt that hungry. Hailey yawned, unsure of what else to do. Other students were leaving the Great Hall, probably towards their dorm rooms. Hailey got up and hurriedly made her way towards them.
Thump. Her head swiveled, and she wasn't alone. Other students turned at the sound of nearby clapping. A top of the Slytherin table stood a red-haired girl with blue eyes, calling out to everyone.
She went on to welcome them, specifically the new students. She introduced herself as Nico, explaining how she was their guide and that they were just waiting for another House to finish their speech to proceed.
Nico assured the first-years that Slytherin wasn't as dreadful as they'd heard. Hailey had gotten her own fair share of baised opinions about the house of serpents but she wasn't one to let others choose her decisions and thoughts. She had nothing against Slytherin so far but she was grateful for the reassurance and smiled.
The guide went on, saying some things that were a little confusing but by then Hailey has stopped listening, too fretful from fatigue to pay attention. She was ready to get on with the tour so she could eventually bury herself into a nice, warm bed...if he dungeons had any.
Finally their journey commenced. The girl grinned at them before leading them away from the center stairs towards the right. Hailey knew that the Slytherins resided in the dungeons, a place she had every right not to be fond of.
As they walked Hailey took this time to get familiar with her surroundings. The castle really was too big. She was use to a tiny house, crowded with kids who thrived in anarchy. Now she was surrounded by children of magic in a labyrinthine castle. Paintings on walls, close and locked doors, elegeant furniture, and ghosts...The ghost were actually something that Hailey got used to first. After the showcase in the Great Hall she was couldn't and wouldn't forget the experience.
Passing a mirror, Hailey glanced at herself. Comparing herself to the others, she realized that she didn't look much like a Slytherin. Actually, she appeared more as a Hufflepuff, with her soft features, warm skin, Sandy blond hair, and hazel eyes the color of pond water in the sun. Faint scars riddle her skin, mostly on her legs and arms that couldn't be seen because of the cloak. As she stared at her reflection she noticed a darkness pass through her face, one that scared her.
She hurried after the others.
Nico was engaged in a conversation with another student. Hailey didn't give the other girl more than a glance, interested more in the dungeons that they were now in. It really wasn't much to look, actually they were pretty dreary. She wondered what their rooms would be like.
She turned to the nearest student. “Are we going to live in cells...?” she whispered.

From Sorting to Slytherin
The new Slytherin crossed his arms, following the the group, peering over the sides from where he stood in the middle, evaluating the suits of armor and ornaments, remnants of a bygone time. He had always been interested in medieval history, and his thoughts began to wander to the school's earlier days. Just how many students, Slytherins like themselves, had passed through these halls, perhaps taken the same route after being sorted as they were now?
At any rate, he was glad for the large group, as the thought occurred to him that this indeed was a magical school. Could these sets of armor spring to life? He sped up upon seeing a moving painting, and made sure to stay within relative distance of their leader, a prefect it appeared, who was a nice-seeming girl with long red hair and a mild way of speaking, picking up on pieces of her conversation with another, rather self-assured First year with an icy air. Better be near someone who has a better clue of the place, and listen to what she had to say. Passing by another, curtained work of art, he watched in dismay as its two subjects greeted them with great pomp and circumstance, dipping their feathered hats.
Ah, wait, did he hear that right? There was a... Hogwarts had jacuzzis? The thought never occurred to him... Come to think of it, he never really bothered to consider where exactly they were all headed. Dorms, perhaps?
His attentions snapped to another Slytherin nearby who, seeming a bit unfamiliar with their destination, but maybe less than himself, uncertainly mentioned something about... cells? Prison cells? "Pool... in a dungeon?" he wondered aloud to himself, trying to picture the concept but not quite able to reconcile the two vastly different items. He peered around the group, trying to get a glimmer of... well... he didn't know really. Despite eating quite a bit and being on his feet, he didn't feel very tired. At any rate, it would probably take him a while to get used to these new surroundings, but maybe that wasn't a bad thing altogether.

'H-Hey, that's not a problem at all. I mean... Sure I was offered to do this part of the Prefect job... and.. sure I was nervous... It's abit silly, isn't it?' Nico thought for a moment, she got quiet and her eyes seemed to be fixated on a point on the floor. Surely, these students or atleast this one was probably too tired to hear a Prefect ramble about herself.
'Anyhow, what I meant to say was, no problem. I hope you enjoy the tour. We're nearly there except we have to do the hellish stairs down...' Before Santario could respond to that, Nico raised her voice once more to catch everyones attention. 'Alright everyone. I'm sure you know these suits of armors inside out by now. We're now continuing to the next and... maybe most tiring part of the tour. As you all probably already know, the Slytherin facilities are located at the bottom of Hogwarts. In the dungeons even. As cold as it may sound, our common room and dorms are very well heated. How you ask? Probably magic.'
Smiling sheepishly, Nico gave the signal that they could follow her. 'Watch your step, the stairs can be abit slippery. Once again, if anyone has questions, don't be shy. I... I promise I won't bite.' Nico sounded more desperate saying that last bit than anything else. She hoped she wasn't putting too much pressure... or something... on the other students. And down they went, the long walk to the Slytherin Headquarters.

The food was amazing and filling and had appeared right before them. Madeline had experienced this before at important dinners that her father held to secure a deal, so she wasn't too shocked. Madeline wondered how many servants or house elves they had to make all of this. Either way, she was starving. She did her best to constrain herself from stuffing her face. Sitting straight, chin up, with elbows off the table. She didn't want to make a bad impression as she rather liked this place so far. She couldn't say she was homesick. In fact, this was the most freedom and carefree of a setting than she had ever been in. Madeline finished her food while politely but ravenously listening to passing conversation. After dessert, chatter started dying away and the feast had ended. Madeline started looking around as everyone started getting out of their seats and stood up to follow. Suddenly a CLAP made her jump and Madeline whipped around to see a red-headed girl standing on the table they just ate off of. She introduced herself as Nico and that they were awaiting the hall to clear.
'Before we walk out of here, I want to be clear about a few things. First, Slytherin is an honourable house. If you didn't wish to be sorted into our House, I can reassure you, you'll soon feel grateful that you weren't sorted anywhere else.' Started Nico. Madeline straighten up and watched Nico intensely. Are we about to get into rules and serious notes about the castle? Madeline thought. Nico followed this with something called a Jacuzzi and a riddle about where to find it. Is it important, as a first test... underwater... like an item in a pool? Or is it a joke? She had never heard of a Jacuzzi. Madeline furrowed her brows and her lips parted slightly in confusion, mouthing the unknown word to see if she could recall it.
'I'm kidding. Or am I...?' Nico teased. Madeline's face fell with disappointment that faded quickly. It's probably better not to be tested so early. I am pretty tired. Nico proceeded to finish up her speech and lead them out to the hall after the Gryffindor students left. Madeline briskly followed, her eyes scanning the hall, taking as much information in as she could. Nico stopped them for a moment and started talking with another student. The student looked rather hard and collected. At least some of the students seem to take their schooling seriously. Madeline thought.
Madeline kept close to the guide, as to not get lost and to hopefully eavesdrop. Moving to nearby statues and running her fingers gingerly over the cool rock underneath. She was no artist, but she did always enjoy admiring the skill and dedication it takes to make, and also envying the more abstract and creative side of it. Two things she wasn't good at and always reminded her of her sister. Madeline gazed wistfully at the beautiful statue and scrunched up her nose, pushing that painful thought away and was trying to instead listen to the guide talk. Suddenly, she heard a voice near her spoke, "Are we going to live in cells...?”. Madeline turned to face a warm, bright face that was stark in contrast to the dim dungeons. It took a moment to process the question before Madeline started laughing. Madeline immediately covered her mouth in an attempt to muffle it, embarrassed. She didn't realize how tense she was the entire day, and the question caught her off guard.
"I-I'm sorry--" Madeline composed herself quickly, a smirk still on her lips, "I don't think we're going to be sleeping in cells just because we're in the dungeons. A good night's sleep is important to learning. I certainly would prefer a warm bed." She finished, tucking a long strand of hair behind her ear. "Though it would be interesting to start in cells, and have to earn a proper bed. Which would definitely push students to work harder from the start, don't you think?" She mused, tapping her finger to her chin.

She listened to Nico who seemed a bit self-conscious almost in the way that she spoke to her. It wouldn’t be anything that Santario pointed out of course but it was noted about the girl. “I think you’re doing fine.” She offered the Prefect some confidence. Even though on the outside Santario was cold and somewhat seeming unapproachable it would appear that she had a warm heart under there somewhere. The girl was anti-social yet could hold a well-worded conversation when it came down to it. Every facet of her was different it just would take someone with the proper time and patience to figure her out.
Nico had called for everyone to start heading downstairs before she could say anything else to her and San would, of course, follow suit behind the Prefect, but the word cells caught her attention. Turning those sharp sapphire eyes back to the girls she thought had mentioned it. “Both of my parents were in Slytherin before me. From what I have heard our dorms will be quite nice and it is heated with a great view of under the lake.” Her eyes would for a moment fall upon another boy in their midst before quickly turning back forward as she carefully followed Nico down the stairs.
It was getting surreal for her now, walking down the same steps her parents had no doubt trapesed many times in their school years. Both of her parents excelled in their individual focuses, would she? Could she live up to the excellence of her parents and do this house of their justice? She pushed these thoughts down as she descended the stairs knowing that she would let nothing stand in her way.

From Sorting to Slytherin
[quote]After the sorting hat ceremony done and her fated fall into the house of honor -Slytherin-, Cassie couldn't be more happier. She knows that this house she's in for years to come will bring her to greatness. Her father, used to be a Slytherin, told her many stories about why Slytherin was and is the best house among the other houses. It was always her dreams when she'll attends Hogwarts, she'll follow her father footsteps regarding to house that she's in. Her mother was a Ravenclaw but she's not as smart as her mom, she's a bit cold and cunning just like her dad and close off if she doesn't know the person. Cassie also the kind of person that isn't easily warm up to new people.
She walks into the table and wait for the Headmaster done with his speech. After the Headmaster done his speech, a spread of varieties of food lay upon her. Cassie looked around at the bafflement of the others 1st year Slytherins at the table, she chuckled to herself. Cassie took the dishes while listening the other talks among themselves. The murmuring around the Hall can be deafening sometime.
When she's done her meal, one by one of the other houses stand up and begin the tour of this huge castle. Cassie see a redhead girl, hopped onto the long table. 'Students of Slytherin. May I have your attention, please.'She said. Once she said that the murmuring around her stopped and all of the 1st year Slytherin look up to the girl. Cassie stand a bit close to the redhead, she can see the readhead a bit nervous.
'R-Right!’A soft blush on her cheeks, she cleared her throat, keeping her cool. Cassie smirked but quickly hide it before the girl sees it. 'Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Nico and I'll be in charge of guiding you today. I hope you guys enjoyed your first meal. Since we're not the only House giving a tour, we'll have to wait until Gryffindor finished their little speech in the foyer. Which hopefully.. won't be too long.’The redhead introduce herself. Cassie nodded. She understand what her role is.
'Before we walk out of here, I want to be clear about a few things. First, Slytherin is an honourable house. If you didn't wish to be sorted into our House, I can reassure you, you'll soon feel grateful that you weren't sorted anywhere else.’Nico told the infants snakes, herself includes.
Honorable, indeed! Just like what father said.
'Secondly, last year, we managed to install an underwater Jacuzzi at the center of our Common Room. We're the only ones who have one. We hope and expect that you keep it clean.’Her ice blue gaze scanned every face with a cold look. One of the many students swallowed softly. The other do that but not Cassie. Cassie think it's amusing to say the least. Jacuzzi? that's new. Cassie think for herself.
'I'm kidding.’ Like snow in front of the sun, her frown melted into a warm smile. 'Or am I...? Maybe it isn't in our Common Room but…’As if drawing a rainbow in the sky with the palm of her hands. '..maybe it's elsewhere. Feel free to explore the Castle. But not past curfew.’Nico informed.
Ah! the curfew rules. Cassie know bits and there about it also the Headmaster told earlier in his speech that Cassie bit and pieces heard it. Gracefully Nico got down the table and walked to the hallway. 'Alright, everyone. Let's see if we're next in line.’
The crowd of students shuffled quietly behind her, taking in the high walls. Cassie moves forward until she just two or three steps behind Nico. Cassie doesn't do well in such a big and crowded settings. After Nico said that they slowly peeled out from the Great Hall. The other 1st year taking a peek out at the foyer, but Cassie doesn't. She'll have time to enjoy the magnificent of the castle later on, by herself.
'Don't stay behind.’Nico flashed a warm smile over her shoulder at them before continuing to lead them.
Cassie can hear the other talking about how excited they are or what classes that they can't wait to be in but for Cassie, she just want this whole tour to end so she can unpacked her things and explore the castle some more, on her own time.
