The First Steps of the Journey
He listened to her talk, showing visible surprise when she said she didn't have much friends before saying, "Wait..you don't have many friends? That doesn't seem right. Why wouldn't anyone want to be your friend? You seem like the perfect friend to me." He didn't know why he felt so strongly to have said that, but he did anyone, so he was going to just role with it.
He let out a small laugh as she told him why she didn't have her hair down, saying in return, "Well I'll definitely be waiting until that day, but I don't think I'll really mind if it has a mind of its own." But when she asked if he thought she was pretty, his face turned bright red. He did find her very pretty, but he didn't know how to go about telling her. He had never been in this situation with a girl. Sure his mom use to ask him if she looked pretty before dinners or something as a joke, but that's different. "Well..yeah, I do. I think you are very pretty." he said, shifting his body a little to turn more towards her, giving her a slight smile.
He felt her grab his hand back, giving him what he needed to calm down a little. He looked at her and smiled a little, he didn't really say anything or even want to. He just let his gaze lock onto her eyes, a smile slowly crossing his lips. He didn't know what the feelings he was feeling for her mean, but it certainly wasn't a bad thing.

A lot of people don’t like me once they get to know me, they get bored with me or I get too annoying. So um.. what about you? Any friends or girlfriends you’re leaving behind?” She blushes as she says that realizing that she might be opening up to him too much, but for some reason she doesn’t mind.
She laughed a little “well then I’ll make sure you see it sometime” she suddenly felt self conscious when she saw him turn bright red in response to her question. She blushed a lot when she heard his response and tried to come up with an intelligent sounding response “um.. thanks.. sorry that was a really stupid question. I don’t usually ask guys that. She saw him turn towards her and she did the same and smiled at him.
She saw him calm down a little and smiled. She wasn’t sure why, but found herself not wanting to let go of his hand. She looked up to meet his eyes and found herself locked in his gaze, unable to find anything that she needed or wanted to say. She saw him smile out of the corner of her eye and she smiled back at him, starting to feel less self conscious. She felt something for him, something that she’d never felt before for a person and something that she didn’t think was possible to feel for someone she’d just met.

He listened to her, shaking his head at the first part before saying, "Yeah no. I wouldn't get bored or annoyed with you. You seem way to fun for either of those things to happen." The next think she asked hurt him a little inside. It made him realize that he wasn't really leaving much behind. He shook his head again and said, "No, not really. I only had one or two friends, but definitely not a girlfriend."
He smiled as she confirmed she'd let him see it sometime, saying, "Great." Hearing her apologize for her question he just shook his head and said, "There's no need to apologize. It wasn't really a stupid question, just a strange one, and I don't really mind strange things, definitely keeps things exciting."
He kept a hold on her hand, he didn't want to let go or have her let go; he felt like he was holding a cloud in his hand. He felt a pull to her like none that he had felt before, and this pull came with feelings he never thought he'd be able to feel for someone. Suddenly a question entered his mind and his eyes grew wide. On one hand he didn't want to ask her because of embarrassment, but on the other hand he really needed to know. He cleared his throat a little, a habit he had gotten from his father, before saying, "Do you um..well I know you said you didn't have many friends but..do you have a boyfriend?"

She smiles at him, happy to hear him say that she seems fun. “Well I can be kinda crazy sometimes and I ramble a lot so most people don’t like being around me.” She heard him say that he didn’t have a girlfriend and she felt sad that he also didn’t have many friends but she was happy to hear that he didn’t have a girlfriend. “Well you’ve got a friend now. I guess we both have a friend now.”
She smiled when he said that it was great that he’d be able to see her hair down. She usually didn’t let any see it down except on special occasions, but he felt different. She wanted him to see it down on more than just special occasions. ”Well I’m definitely strange in many ways and I like to keep things exciting. So stick with me and things will be very exciting.” She blushed, thinking that she just made her self sound weird and maybe ruined things. She then looked up at him, and smiled hoping that he didn’t think she was too weird.
She smiled as he kept a hold on her hand, glad that he didn’t try to let go. She watched his eyes go wide and grinned as she waited for him to say whatever was on his mind. She heard as he cleared his throat and started talking, making her blush a little as she realized she’d been staring again. She laughed a little and then answered his question, “no, I definitely don’t have a boyfriend, the few friends I do have are mostly guys and they just act like I’m one of the guys, and none of them would probably be interested in me and even if they were I wouldn’t date them.” She blushed at the thoughts going through her mind about how he was different than any of those guys and how she would love to date him.

"Well I enjoy a little bit of crazy, even if it doesn't seem that way," he said, wanting to tell her that she was kinda cute when she rambled, but he decided against it. He smiled as she said that they both had a friend now, saying in return, "Definitely." Something in his mind told him that he wasn't suppose to be making friends. He's just suppose to go to Hogwarts, pass all of his classes, and then get out of there, not get attached to someone. But he didn't care, she was different and made him feel different
Hearing what she said he laughed a little, saying, "Well at least you're honest about it. I'd be glad to stick with you and see what kind of excitement we can gather up." A smile crossed his face as he saw her blushing. For some reason when she blushed it made him think she was the cutest thing on earth.

She smiled as he said he enjoyed crazy. “Well good. I think being crazy keeps life interesting, even if people don’t think it’s normal.” She grinned as he agreed that the both had a friend, and going to the school now seemed less scary in her mind. “You know, they probably don’t expect that two people who don’t know anyone and don’t know each other, will arrive at the school as friends. But I don’t really care what people think or expect, if I did I’d never have any fun.”
She giggles softly as he said that he’d be glad to stick with her. “I’m sure we can gather up lots of excitement. I can’t promise we won’t get in some trouble though. I have a bad habit of doing that, probably something I picked up from my guy friends.”
She smiles up at him and can’t help but think about how handsome he is and blushes and then feels slightly self conscious about how much she’s been doing that. “I don’t mind if you say stupid things. I do that a lot. I have a habit of not thinking before I say things and I just say whatever comes to mind.”
She felt the train hit a bump and she softly squeezed Williams hand a little bit to try to reassure him. She thought about asking if he wanted a girlfriend but she felt that it was too soon and he probably didn’t feel the same way about her. She hadn’t felt like this for anyone before and wasn’t sure what she felt but she liked it.

He listened to what she said next, nodding in agreement until she said that she really didn't care what other people said, making William think. "How could she not care what other people think? How does she go day by day without worrying about what everyone else thinks?" He wasn't sure if he wanted to ask her what was on his mind, because it wasn't exactly any of his business. So he decided to let it go, a possible question for another time.
He listened to her with a grin on his face before saying, "Well if trouble is part of the deal, then so be it. Its not like I'm a saint and have never gotten into trouble."
He just smiled at her before saying, "Its fine. Being straight forward can be a good thing..if you're not me that is. Usually when I'm straight forward it never really ends well."

She giggled as he said that life is more fun with crazy, and then blushed because she suddenly felt self conscious thinking that he wouldn't think that if he knew just how crazy she could be, but she quickly pushed those thoughts away and grinned at him. "Definitely, lets just hope you don't think I'm too crazy."
She felt happy as he said that he had gotten in trouble before, "well you're guaranteed to get in some kind of trouble when you hang around with me." She started thinking about all the different kinds of trouble they could get into and started blushing as she let her mind drift too far and started to stare off into space. She quickly pushed the thoughts out of her head and focused back on William.
She smiled back at him, gathering her thoughts for a moment, trying to decide what she could say without saying too much, "I think you should be straight forward, I prefer people to be straight forward than beat around the bush. So with me, you can be as straight forward as you would like."
She watched him as he closed his eyes and started to relax, she didn't know why but she wanted to be there for him and wanted to help him more than she usually did with people, especially ones she just met. She laid her head back and closed her eyes and then felt him lay his head on her shoulder, it shocked her a little but it made her smile and she didn't know why.
