Smells Just Like Home FINISHED

Mildred waiting in anticipation- would she get in trouble for this? she was sure that she wouldn't as well, it was harmless- kind of. Minus the part where the Ravenclaw girl fell, other then that, no one got injured. She was sure that other students have gotten into way more trouble with far more dangerous acts, her suspicion was confirmed when the prefect responded to her, and well, Mildred had nothing else to say to that than to pick up the books

Mildred bent down and picked up some of the books that had fallen, looking at the names. Huh... I should really read some of these she thought. One book she had picked up was called, "the mirror" which sounded pretty interesting... Mildred began to make a mental note of some of the books she should try to read.

In the end, the other Hufflepuff boy didn't respond to her. Which was also something she suspected, Mildred at this point- felt like the whole situation was a tad awkward for her so she decided it was time for her to take her leave she definitely had extended her stay- plus she felt bad and well it seemed like the others were getting along and she'd just remind them of what had happened- she didn't really want to say something, so she ended up walking out perhaps she'd take a break in the common rooms.

Sean shook Breana's hand and said in a bit of an emotionless tone "Nice to meet you Breana. I'm Sean, Sean Hearth". He really didn't look like a Hufflepuff, his cold and emotionless demeanor gave him more of a Slytherin look but his actions made him seem friendly which was a strange mix. The Hufflepuff girl who had been upset seemed to have taken the Gryffindor Prefects advice and helped pick up some of the books. Once the books were all picked up, she made her way out, Sean watched her leave wondering if she was still upset with him.

His attention went back to the Breana and the Gryffindor prefect, they were talking about blood. They were both Half-Bloods which Sean knew meant they had a wizard parent and a muggle parent, he came to know that he was called a Muggle-Born meaning he had no wizard parents. This fact didn't really bother Sean too much but he could see that some kids did not really like his "kind". He listened to the 2 girls without saying a word, the Gryffindor prefect introduced herself as Griseldis Edelhardt and had only recently become prefect.

Then Sean heard foot steps coming their way and a House Elf came around the corner, he looked at the pile of books and seemed grumpy. We had made a bit of a mess so it was understandable, Sean had seen a few House Elves since he got to Hogwarts, mostly in the kitchen or cleaning. The Elf snapped it's fingers and all of a sudden the books started levitating back to their place. Sean couldn't help but look amazed at the levitating books, he wasn't accustomed to magic yet so everything still baffled him, he looked back at the House Elf "Thank you". Then Gris explained the library system, this made him a bit embarrassed since he was wandering around trying the find the book himself but she seemed to understand, "Thank you Griseldis".

Breana nodded as she took in Sean's name (even if he sounded indifferent with the whole situation), smiling as the fallen books are now placed in a neat stack. "Nice to meet ya, Sean." She then turned her focus to their senior, blinking her eyes as she processed the somewhat new word that's been thrown at the little Ravenclaw. "Half-blood... So that's what people call it? Well, yeah, my mom's a witch that's huma-- I mean, muggle-born, but my dad's a muggle through and through. Mom wanted to leave the wizard world behind her, but..." She shrugged with a laugh. "... Things kinda make stuff happen in a different way, so here I am, heh."

Breana looked down at the book she's planning to check out, nodding to the Gryffindor. "Oh sure! Can't say if I'm a fast reader, but I'll be happy to give it to ya during the time I'm borrowing it!" She's actually a slow reader, at out of habit. She can read fast, but since she rereads a lot of parts too often, and coupled with the fact that she doesn't use bookmarks (she doesn't want to ruin the structure of the book) it might take her two or more weeks of reading to finish it. Still, she'd be fine letting the Gryffindor borrow it first is she used up her borrowing time by then.

Her eyes widened from both realization and excitement as Gris introduced herself as a prefect. "So I was right!" Breana thought to herself. "A prefect! So that's what the pins are for! My first time seeing one! Are they all like that?" Though before she could ask more about Gris's duties as a prefect, a house elf suddenly approached them. "Did... did somebody order food...?" Breana looked over at the two fellow students. Sean was just as surprised as her, but Gris looked at the elf as if it's normal for them to be here. Breana watched in awe as the elf used their own magic to put books back in the correct order. She turned to Gris, almost expecting her to know the reason for this. Breana nodded, hanging onto her every word. "Ahh... a library elf..." She nodded with understanding. "They really are a helpful bunch huh?" She scratched the back of her head, embarrassed. "If only I knew about their help sooner, then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place..."

The Hufflepuff boy who seemed a bit emotionless first introduced himself to the Ravenclaw girl as Sean. It was a nice name for a boy, Griseldis thought with a smile while watching them having a friendly handshake before helping to pick the books up form the ground. Then she noticed the Hufflepuff silently left the group without saying anything and Griseldis wasn't sure if she helped them a bit or not but she didn't mind. Maybe it was a good thing for the girl to calm down and get some fresh air outside the library.

After they finished stacking up the books in order and told them about herself. Breana beamed with excitement the moment she revealed to her that she was a Prefect and asked if all Prefects were like her. She would tell her after the Assistant Librarian finished the work, of course.

It was quite amusing watching the confused and surprised looks on the two first-year students' faces when they saw how the Library staff elf just used their own magic with only a snap of their fingers to levitate the books back into the shelves in the correct order. Too bad the other student just left before she could witness it, perhaps the Hufflepuff girl felt too awkward with the situation and didn't want to stay any longer to make it more awkward. Sad but Griseldis understood and hopefully she would have the chance to tell that young girl that everything was fine. And finally, Griseldis turned back to face the small Ravenclaw, "Back to your question, yes, I think all Prefects wear a badge like mines. It's a great honor." she told her with pride. "Well, it's fine that you didn't know, I didn't know either during my first year and I was confused like you guys." Suddenly she remembered why she was in the Library in the first place, "Oh!? I almost forgot that I need a certain book for my Charms homework! I need to go ask that Assistant Librarian. Sorry, I need to go now but if you need anything just owl me and I'll be happy to assist you, so I wish you have a magical day." Griseldis waved good bye at the two young students before she went to ask the elf for their assistance again.

Sean watched as the Gryffindor prefect left and was reminded of the reason he had been in the library too. Looking for a book where he would find information on Cedric Diggory would be a lot easier now since he knew the library system. He looked at Breana and for a second thought about how weird this interaction has been, first he witnessed her fall because of a jump scare, then met a prefect and a house elf just levitated books back to where they belonged. Of course this probably wouldn't phase anybody else but for Sean this was quite the experience. "I hope you enjoy your book" he tried his best to smile, he wondered if he would ever talked to this person again or any of the 3 people he had just met and sighed internally. "Well it was nice meeting you, I need to go ask for a book" he turned around and made his way to the front desk where he asked the assistant for a book with the info he looked for. He waited a few minutes and she came back with a book about previous famous Hufflepuff's, which Sean was grateful for. He thanked her and made his way out the library and in to his common room.

Breana's eyes grew wide in amazement as Gris told her how honorable it was to be a prefect. As much as how promising it would be for her to have it on her school records, she's still unsure if she can make the cut. Besides, her goal right now is to be best in Potions, and having the prefect job might set her focus sideways. Nevertheless, she held what Gris does with high respect right now. As she was about to ask her Gryffindor senior more about her job, Breana jumped a bit as Gris jolted into remembering something. "O-oh!! Do you need help or--" As Breana said that, the red clad prefect was already waving goodbye. "Ah, w-well... Okay! I guess I can call-- er, owl you and stuff, uhm... G-Gris...?" She said, unsure if she should call a prefect that.

Now with the second person gone off for other matters, Breana turned her attention to the Hufflepuff boy, Sean. For a moment, she forgot what he was talking about but then remembered the book in her hand. "Oh, right! Yeah, I guess it'd be a good read, hopefully..." She chuckled lightly. "A book? Well, do you need help or--" Breana stopped mid-sentence, remembering that the Hogwarts library's organization system would be different from a muggle's. "Uh, n-nevermind... I hope you find what you're looking for though!" She said, waving goodbye to him. She watched as he's being attended by the Assistant Librarian, whilst Breana herself turns to the checkout desk, smiling with the now borrowed book in her hands.
