Lost Books
After a long and stressful day, the Great Lake is was what Rosalyn needed. First, she had woken up late. When studying for a test, Rosalyn stays up all night to make sure the material is drilled into her brain, but it also makes her very tired. She missed breakfast and was almost late for her first class of the day. The second terrible event that happened was at lunch. An extremely clumsy girl accidentally poured her water all over Rosalyn. The last event that was bad for Rosalyn was in her last class. One of her classmates had taken her book and ran off with it after class. She saw the student throw the book somewhere near the lake, most likely getting water and mud on the inked pages. Rosalyn was only a chapter away from finishing the book and it was getting majorly suspenseful. She decided that the only thing that may brighten up her day was finding her book, and she set out to do just that.
Rosalyn walked along the edge of the lake, searching for paper on the shore and behind rocks. The only thing she knew for sure was that the book was out there somewhere. Although she was majorly disappointed after three hours of searching with no success, she decided to give up.
Rosalyn plopped down on a rock and let out a sigh. She supposed she could get another book from the library, but she didn’t know if she could find the same one. She decided to skip dinner and stay outside. Rosalyn wondered if anyone would come to the lake to find her.

Fiona was laying her head on the desk during her transfiguration class, counting down the seconds until she heard the overhead bell ring. Transfiguration was Fiona's last class of the day, and there was nothing that Fiona wanted more than to drop onto her bed. The second the bell rang, she was out the door racing up the stairs to the Gryffindor dormitories on the fifth floor. It took her longer than she had hoped though, the waves of children heading up and down the stairs in different directions slowed her quite a bit. Eventually, she had finally pushed her body through the crowds of people and made her way past the Fat Lady's painting.
She sprinted up the girl dormitories staircase and threw her bag next to her trunk as she jumped onto the large red four-poster bed. Like in her class, she rested her head against her pillow and closed her eyes. Her rest was cut short by two other girls loudly chatting coming into the room. She turned over to her other side and considered falling back asleep when the thought of the dinner that would be served tonight persuaded her to get up from under her covers. She sat up on the bed and noticed out the window a small blonde-haired girl running down to the Great Lake. Fiona quickly got up and ran up to the large glass panes to get a better look, she realized that the girl was another Gryffindor that she recognized from one of her classes. Dinner's starting in less than an hour, what's she doing down at the Great Lake? she thought to herself. Fiona thought better of leaving the girl there by herself and went to the grounds to go find her.
The time it took to get down was considerably faster than the time it took for her the last time she was walking on those stairs. When Fiona reached the lake's edge, she saw the girl sitting on a rock further down from where she was currently standing. Fiona waved her hands above her head and shouted out to the girl to get her attention, "Hey! Are you okay? Dinner's starting soon!" Now standing only a few feet away from her, she lowered her voice and asked her, "Do you need any help? Because I can skip dinner if you need it." She sat on a rock next to the other Gryffindor girl and gave her a sympathetic smile, "I'm Fiona."

Rosalyn’s head jerked up as she heard someone shout at her. She quickly realized that it was someone from her own house, Rosalyn had seen her in the common room from time to time. The girl had long red hair, deep brown eyes, and freckles sprinkled across her flushed cheeks. Rosalyn believed that her name was Fiona, or something along those lines.
“Hello Fiona, I’m Rosalyn. I’ve decided to skip dinner to think, I lost my book earlier and I’ve searched for it, but it isn’t anywhere.” Rosalyn thought back to the three hours that she searched for the book, and let out a sigh. “You’re welcome to stay here if you’d like, but dinner is probably a better choice.”
She turned to the redhead sitting beside her and gave a small grin, trying to show Fiona that she was perfectly fine sitting under the sky. Rosalyn wouldn’t be surprised or upset if the girl decided to go to the Great Hall for supper, as she was a little hungry herself. After missing breakfast and having a small portion of lunch, Rosalyn’s stomach growled. She immediately turned bright red and started laughing.
“Maybe It would be smart to head to dinner”
