Harper needed a break from studying and perhaps somewhere to relax. She had heard of the Leaky Cauldron is a place for that to happen. She walked there and entered humming her favorite song. She sat down with a drink she had ordered and looked around at all of her fellow students that were sitting in there with her. Well not with her but they were also at The Leaky Cauldron. A smile appeared on her face as she watched everyone having a good time and she tried to ignore some for her stresses and frustrations from school. She loved that she could just sit here and relax and people watch. Sometimes you just need a break from school work and stress. She made a mental note to herself to come here more often. She kind of hoped she could meet someone new through this experience. Perhaps someone who was older so they could share stories about Hogwarts and also she could talk with someone who was older and get advice and also get a feel for what classes will be like for her in the future. Plus if she had someone older she was talking to then they could talk about all kinds of things like cool spells they learned that she would get to learn and talk about teachers they have that she hasn't gotten to experience yet. But even if that didn't happen she would just be glad to come here and relax on a regular basis. She looked around trying to let her fellow wizards know she wanted company although she was too scared to actually go up and talk to anyone.

Mae hadn't been outside of Hogwarts with starting classes and was beyond frazzled to say the least, she really just wanted some time to relax. The first place she thought of was the leaky cauldron. Sure, there were a ton of people and it could get loud at times but maybe Mae would find someone to talk to, maybe some shared interests. After all, it would be nice to meet someone new while relaxing. Mae looking slightly frazzled via not being able to relax for a few hours, quickly walked through the door to the Leaky Cauldron. She walked up to the counter and sat down "One hot chocolate," Mae said in her very airy and light Irish accent. She really was hoping to meet someone as she looked around the room she saw a plethora of black cloaks all with different streaks of colors red, emerald, gold, and blue. As she was looking around the room she saw a girl also looking as well. She saw that the girl had golden streaks on her robe, meaning she was most likely a Hufflepuff. She also wore round red glasses that fit perfectly on her face. She seemed quite nice as well, it also looked to Mae like she also wanted to talk to someone. Mae's hot chocolate was served and she carefully took it off the counter and got up to walk over to the girl. "Hi, you look quite lonely, would you like some company?" Mae asked. She was a bit nervous as to what the girl would say, maybe she didn't actually want any company but it was always worth a try.

Harper was in a similar boat she actually didn't know of this place until a friend told her about it. It was cool to have a place like this outside of Hogwarts to sit down and study or even just chill out. She took another moment to enjoy her surroundings the place seemed nice. It was a good atmosphere and seemed like a good place for her to possibly take her friends to hang out sometime. She smiled and nodded to herself. Harper's thoughts were interrupted when a kind-looking girl came over and Harper would smile at her and motion for her to sit down. She seemed to be older than Harper was but that didn't really bother her because she was open to having friends of any age. After a moment Harper spoke. "Yes, please sit. I would love to have some company." She said looking at the girl and giving her a warm and happy smile. She soon realized she hadn't introduced herself. "Oh yes! I should probably introduce myself. My name is Harper Pena. I am a first year Hufflepuff." She stated and smiled. "And you are?" She finished not trying to be rude or anything. She just wanted to know this new aquaintances name was all.

After a moment the girl spoke. "Yes, please sit. I would love to have some company." Mae sat down carefully, hot cup of hot chocolate in hand. "Oh yes! I should probably introduce myself. My name is Harper Pena. I am a first year Hufflepuff." she stated with a smile. "And you are?" she added. The girl had a very nice English accent, it sounded much better than Mae's weird Irish accent. Well at least it was weird to Mae. Harper seemed really nice, Mae after all was looking to get herself acquainted with the new 1st and 2nd years after all. After a brief moment of silence Mae said "Oh, sorry got a little lost in lala land, sorry about that," she said with a smile and a laugh. "My name's Mae Winters, I'm actually a third year Ravenclaw," she said cheerily, sipping on her Hot Chocolate. When Mae genuinely thought about it she didn't understand why she was having Hot Chocolate this close to summer, but here she was drinking away at it happily. It was a peculiar drink to have, especially by the fact after her break she would have to be running around Hogwarts even more for other classes. "I've actually been waiting to get acquainted with some of the newer students around here." she added on. Seeing as Mae's mind was on the subject of Summer she asked up this next question "How is your first year going so far, seeing as we are getting quite close to summer break?" Mae didn't mean to be this much of a chatter box, she was kind of afraid that she would scare away a possible friend with all her talking. She decided she would sit back and listen for the next couple of minutes AND lay off the sugary sweet Hot Chocolate. After all, sugar had a habit of making Mae bouncy.

Harper smiled at Mae and eventually spoke after she was done speaking. "Oh don't worry about spacing off I do that a lot too." She stated, which was the one hundred percent truth. Harper did have a tendency to space off and a lot of people mentioned it to her and sometimes even joked with her about it. Her friends always joked about it because a lot of times she would be looking in someone's direction and they would joke she had a crush on the person. It was a funny thing, fairly innocent fun that her and her friends had.
Harper thought for a moment when Mae had asked her how her classes were going. Eventually, she thought of how she wanted to answer. "Well classes are actually going pretty well. Definitely better than I thought they would go. I do however struggle with a couple of classes. I have a hard time with Transfiguration and Defense against the Dark Arts. I don't think I am taking enough time to study for those. They aren't as interesting to me as Potions and Charms." She said before taking a short pause and then speaking again. "What about you Mae? How are your classes going? I am assuming since your a third-year your class schedule might look a little different than mine." She asked with a warm smile. She already liked this girl, she liked how kind she was and how willing she was to talk to a first year.

"Oh don't worry about spacing off I do that a lot too." Harper stated. It was nice and it really did make Mae feel a little less weird about the fact that she thought she was the only one who did that as well. "Well classes are actually going pretty well. I don't think I am taking enough time to study for those. They aren't as interesting to me as Potions and Charms." she responded about classes. Mae could totally related on Transfiguration, it wasn't her finest subject and every single time she sent homework in, it would always be her lowest grades. Mae believed she was relatively fine at Defense Against the Dark Arts, it wasn't her absolute favorite class but she enjoyed it nonetheless, she especially liked learning about the different types of monsters in class. "What about you Mae? How are your classes going? I am assuming since your a third-year your class schedule might look a little different than mine." Harper asked. "Oh, that's totally okay. I dislike Transfiguration too, it's the class I struggle with as well." Mae said sipping on her hot chocolate. "Yes, my class schedule is a bit different, once you get to third year more classes become available, my current favorite classes are Astronomy and Divination, the Divination room is very beautiful we even get to sit on nice and comfy pillows." Mae said with a laugh. She really did enjoy the classes she had discussed, what once was a dreaded class became her favorite. She was also enjoying getting to talk to Harper as well, the girl was very sweet and mature for her age.

Harper listened to Mae's answer to her question about classes. When Mae mentioned that classes were different Harper nodded. It made sense. She was glad to have someone agree with her on Transfiguration. It's not that it was a bad class, the magic was actually pretty interesting and fun to learn. It's just that the homework was what made it hard. Harper nodded when she mentioned Astronomy and Divination as very favorite classes. When she described the Divination room Harper could almost picture it and when she mentioned getting to sit on pillows Harper smiled wide and got really excited. "WOAH! You really get to sit on pillows in Divination? That sounds so cool! But wouldn't that be a distraction? I feel like it would make students less focused." Harper said as she thought about how distracting sitting on pillows would be, at least how they would be for her. She would honestly be tempted to just lay her head down on hers and take a nap, especially if the pillows were really comfortable. She laughed in her head at herself and her childish thoughts of sleeping in class on pillows. It seemed like a strange concept to her and it definitely wasn't something she had at her old school. "The idea is just strange to me. I am used to regular old desks." She said summing up her thoughts aloud.

"WOAH! You really get to sit on pillows in Divination? That sounds so cool! But wouldn't that be a distraction? I feel like it would make students less focused." Harper said to Mae. Mae did believe that it would most likely become some sort of distraction for the Divination students, but it was a comfortable addition to the day from sitting at regular desks all day. Mae personally enjoyed Astronomy as well, the tower was amazing to be in, so high up and secluded from the rest of the world. It was nice every once in a while. Mae wanted to mention it to the first year Hufflepuff, but then suddenly remembered that she would've known what the Astronomy Tower had looked like anyways seeing as first years were in Astronomy. "The idea is just strange to me. I am used to regular old desks." Harper said after a short pause. "Yeah, I mean I do like regular old desks as well, but it's a nice type of comfort during the day in between classes. Yes, I am sure that plenty of students get distracted especially when it feels as comfy as our beds.." Mae said sweetly, reflecting on the fact that it reminded her of her bed up in the Ravenclaw Tower. Maybe that was why Mae particularly liked the Divination Room, because it was comfortable and familiar. Just like her dorm. "Maybe the reason why I like it so much in there is because it feels very comfortable and familiar, you know what I mean?" Mae asked.

Thee distraction thing was true. If Harper were in that class she would likely get distracted by the pillows and maybe even want to take a nap since her brain usually associates pillows with sleeping. She spaced off for a short moment but as soon as Mae started to talk she snapped right back to reality and listened to what Mae had to say. She nodded her head as Mae was talking because in all honesty Harper totally agreed and as she had stated before the pillows would be a distraction, at least to Harper they would. "Yeah you're probably right... I hadn't thought of the comfort between classes thing." She said after Mae had finished talking. She didn't want to interrupt she thought that was rude and disrespectful and she always at least tried to remain somewhat polite and kind. When Mae spoke again a few moments later Harper listened again she didn't want to be disrespectful and space off while someone else was talking. Harper nodded when Mae had finished talking. "I get what you mean it does make sense." She said and tried to think of another question to ask her new third-year friend. She paused for only a moment so she could before asking another question. "What's your least favorite class you've taken so far?" She asks.
