Act of Kindness

He had felt as if he had gone through the 5 stages of grief for several years, and had only a few weeks ago gotten past the 4th depression stage, dipping his toes into acceptance. Barely. Often times he was still bombarded with the reluctance of accepting this new ... era of himself. So much so that he forgets of his 3rd rewritten draft on how to request to be under the healer internship. It was an odd sensation really. A whole lot of mental work too. Trying to be openly nice was sooooooo much hard work. It was a lot easier when he was just being nice in secret. And being openly an asshole even while doing it.
So really, this is exactly what he needed.
Just taking a good 2 weeks of observing this kid from afar, noting details that could help Hana's own mission. Quiet, little friends, eating alone, hunched over his meals often - he was troubled. Like the good senior he was supposed to be, one day during mealtime, he purposely sat within the empty spot of seats that seemed to often gravitate this strange kid.
" Hi~ Morning" he said with his best smile.
Time to say something nice. May I sit with you? How are you doing today? The pre-approved pre-scripted polite words that would be safe enough for people not to scoff at him for.
" your shoes aren't tied"
Was what he said in the end.

Act of Kindness
He had been enjoying the solitude he gained from exuding his usual unfriendly disposition. From what he could tell, most of his peers were rather... bothersome. He bickered over trifled things, the larger ones tried to bully the smaller ones, and their discussions tended to be nothing but dull drivel. Honestly he really couldn't tell if he was missing much by simply remaining alone, as he always did. He didn't... dislike school per say, no. He still enjoyed learning, sometimes he even wandered about exploring. The view of the night sky was relaxing, as was the lake when the ribbons of dawn or dusk reflected off of it's mirror-like surface. There were plenty things to like about 'Hogwarts' but he didn't really see the people in it as one of them, beyond the respect he held for a few of the professors, that is. Then again, respecting his elders had been ingrained in him by the culture he'd been born into well enough to linger with him even when displaced in an entirely different world. So, perhaps he was a tad biased when it came to the professors.==========
He enjoyed the food too, the dishes served often came from a variety of cultures, including cuisine from his homeland. It was soothing, being able to eat meals that reminded him of better days. So whenever he saw any familiar foods spread out over the table in the great hall, he always chose them as his meal. Much like he was doing now, as he pushed his fork into a bowl of Pelmeni. Then he was interrupted.
He stared flatly up at the older boy that interjected themselves into his usual mundane day with a greeting. Almost immediately, he studied them, as if searching for a weapon. Then again, that feeling could just be coming from his starkly silver eyes. he couldn't really help that they seemed piercing to most, but it certainly came in handy sometimes. At their next words, he rose an unimpressed brow. "No they're not. I'm not stupid."
Staring at them for a few more moments, he began eating again. After a few bites were swallowed, he spoke once more. "What do you want, senior?" The question was blunt, like a stone being dropped on the ground. His accent behind it was certainly noticeable, but it wasn't making his words hard to understand, luckily.
