Brimming with excitement, Nico was ready to run straight into the train, but held back knowing Pyce must find their brother. Well, held back in theory, as in practice they were almost skipping right next to them, their face adorned with a joyful grin. Their journey was about to begin, and with new friends at their side, nothing could possibly go wrong.
Unless.
They haven’t even made it to the compartment yet, but they suddenly heard an empty thud behind them, right where Katelyn had been walking. They turned around to see the girl miserably flopped on the floor, staring daggers at another student who was taking way too much space in the cramped corridor. Nico offered a hand to help her get up, but Katelyn swiftly did so herself.
Being of small stature themselves, they could relate to the sentiment of being pushed around - though in their case, it was mostly teasing done by their cousin rather than malice from strangers. Even so, they grinned at their friend. “Being our size is rough isn’t it? But it’s fine! Next time, if anyone bothers us we’ll hex them!” Their grin morphed into a confident smug as they wiggled their fingers, pretending to send a shockwave at some distant target. A few kids turned their heads with puzzled looks - right, they should’ve used a wand. Nico simply shrugged and moved on. They were reaching the very end of the train car, so the compartments weren’t as full. One far in the back seemed almost empty, so they gestured towards it. “Pyce, maybe your brother is in that one. Let’s go!”

The train certainly was crowded. That was absolutely no excuse for someone to have bumped into Kate. At the very least, she made a quick recovery, and it seemed Nico was trying to help as well. That was good.
As they walked, Pyce had been scanning all the compartments, hoping to see Hecate. It took a while, til they were nearly at the back of the car and students became sparse, but Nico pointed out one of the compartments.“Pyce, maybe your brother is in that one. Let’s go!”
Pyce trotted over and slid the door open. Inside was indeed Hecate, who had managed to get all their luggage tucked away. At the sound of the door, Cate looked over.
"Pyce! I see you didn't get lost on your way here." Pyce set Moxy down. The puppy made his way over to Hecate, where the boy scooped him up. "And Moxy!" Hecate buried his face in the dog's fur.
"And some people to join us!" Pyce made room for Nico and Katelyn to join them in the compartment, sitting themself next to Hecate. "That's Nico and-"
"Katelyn!" Hecate chirped happily. "It's been a while, hasn't it! How was getting onto the platform? It go alright for you? Pyce got scared-"
"Did not!"
"But we made it in just fine." Then, Hecate turned to Nico. Which was nice, Pyce was almost convinced Hecate was going to ignore them. "Are you a friend of Kate's? Nice to meet you anyhow. I'm Hecate." Cate grinned a bit too wide, and Pyce really hoped he wasn't going to do anything stupid.

Katelyn let out a meek chuckle. "Yeah..hex them..sure." She dusted off her clothes before following the others. They walked for a bit, forcing their way through the narrow, cramped hallway. Whoever decided to make these hallways so narrow, especially for students having to board the train, was a complete idiot in Katelyn's eyes. The students finally started to grow sparse as they neared the back.
She followed them to a compartment that had windows on the sliding door. Stepping inside she'd hear Hecate, so this is where Hecate was, as Pyce was introducing her and Nico, Katelyn poked out from behind Pyce with a wave of her hand and a smile on her face."Hey Hecate." She stepped out from behind Pyce as she moved to take a seat as she spoke. "My mother showed me where to go; it was a little jarring trying to get on the platform but I managed."
At the mention of Nico, she gestured to him. "That's Nico, we met them on the platform right before we got on the train."
She settled into her seat near the window, watching everyone else get to their seats. The room was cozy, with plush and well-cushioned seats. There was a big window for them to watch the world pass them by.
