Lauren puffed and quickened her footsteps, speed walking her way in the small hall. She was determined to have enough time to study for her DADA class and do her homework. Having her first few homework assignments was extremely exciting and she needed to have at least an E for her to be ok with her grade. Besides she would her it from her father if she didnt get a good grade.

Carrying her books in one hand and trying to avoid people by making extending her hand in front of her as a warning not get to get too close, she smiled seeing that the library hall about 2 minutes away from her. She continued to slightly jog, her hair long dark bouncing up and down with gravity pulling it down again.
I'm almost there, just a bit further and 'll be able to it down and get to work! She thought to herself, knowing that others may say that she sounded like a Ravenclaw. Truth was she had expected the sorting hat to put her in Ravenclaw if not Slytherin but he had decided to sort into Hufflepuff, the one house her father really did not want her in. She tried not to think about it, knowing he would get upset and have these rushes of anger overwhelm him, it showed in his eyes.
OUGH... Lauren blinked and held her head as she fell towards the floor. She blinked a couple of times looking at her bookd and papers on the floor
"Oh mer.. c'est pas possible, encore?! J'en ai marre de tomber!Translation (for people who don't speak french): Oh bloody..  Its not possible, again?! I'm sick of falling!"   Lauren muttered and complained in her native language not paying attention to the person she had bumped into, or cared to know whether they were ok.

Klaus was engrossed in the book he was reading as he ambled down the small hall, making his way out of the library; not really watching in front of him, focused on the words that sprawled itself across the pages.

He was doing his daily reading in the library, today’s book had been “A History of Magic” by Bathilda Bagshot. He had only skimmed through the first couple of chapters when he had first bought it, but hadn’t really stuck his nose into it until today. But the library had begun to get too crowded for his liking, it was still quiet, but just the presence of people and the smallest of noises piled up to even bring the boy the biggest irritation. So, he grabbed his things and just opted to find another spot to do his reading - debating whether he should just retreat into his dorm room until the next class.

But he could barely think of anything else now - so engrossed to not even notice the girl who had been rushing towards him, causing the two to fall heavily onto the floor.

Klaus was rather dazed by the impact, and it took him a brief moment to recover. Once he did, he looked up to see who he had just bumped into so carelessly; papers still flying from the impact around them.

It was a girl, not much older than he is who was quick to scramble and gather her fallen things. He rubbed his chest gently, to aid the soreness of his book hitting him from the impact. Scrambling to start helping the girl in collecting all the papers, stacking them in his arms neatly. “I’m sorry, I didn’t see where I was looking. Are you okay-”

"Oh mer.. c'est pas possible, encore?! J'en ai marre de tomber!"

He halted in his movements, a little shocked from what he had just heard. Brows furrowed as he tried to wrap his head around the words that came from the girl’s small mouth - he was certain those words weren’t English, yet he could understand them.

It’s been a while since he heard anyone speak French around him since he arrived at Hogwarts.

Klaus finished up his part on picking up most of the papers and books, grabbing his own book as well, before standing up before the girl with a small smile, “Je suis désolé.” He uttered as he held out the items to the other. “Ce n'est pas correctement organisé.”

Lauren held her head as if she could stop the ache by just touching it. As a reflex, she took the back of her hand and placed it under her nose, checking for any blood. Even though the girl knew there wouldn't be any, it never hurt to check. She looked up to the person she had bumped into. From what she could see, he wasn't very old, maybe a second year Slytherin. His blond hair fell freely above deep chocolate eyes who looked just as disoriented as her. The hufflepuff started gathering her things on the ground, not wanting to loose any of her homework or books she had.
The girl didn't pay much attention to the boy once she had gotten her papers and stood up, brushing off the dirt and dust on her black robe.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine..." The first year replied to his question, though it seemed he had cut himself off, having his eyes now suspicious from her outburst of french. She shook her head and was about to explain when he smiled casually to her, handing the papers back to her.
“Je suis désolé. Ce n'est pas correctement organisé.”
Stopping in her tracks, she froze, her mind shocked that another student yet again could speak a little french. Slowly replying herself in her father's native language, she took a step back, now a bit mistrusting of the boy.
"Ce n'est rien. Merci. Je devrait y aller. Au revoir, excusez moi pour ma maladresse." With that, she backed up and dodged the boy again, not wanting any trouble with him if he understood french. She would often say random things when talking to herself and was used to having no one understand what she was saying. Having someone who could understand her would be a negative influence. It was bad enough she had trouble talking in english, she couldn't have another one of her languages taken away from her.
"Have a good day." She finished to the boy, clenching her books against her chest and hurrying to the library.

Klaus could immediately sense the hesitation in her movements and expressions as soon as she heard him speak in French. For a brief moment, he had thought that he might’ve said something offensive, but he knew that it wasn’t possible that he did - he knew that he was trained with his use of words; knew how a gentleman should speak to a lady.

He tilted his head to the side, a brow raised as he watched the girl take a step back; as if the threat had appeared out of nowhere right in front of her. “Est-ce que ça va?” He asked, stepping forward only for the girl to dodge him by responding back in a clutter of words, formed in a messy sentence of sheer panic. And before he could even have a say, the highly strung Hufflepuff brushed past him and was gone in a flash, heading towards the library.

And Klaus just stared, mouth pursed but slightly open and loose as his eyes were fixed at the girl. He blinks, refocuses as he scratched the back of his head in pure confusion. “Bizzare…” He whispered to himself until he looked down at his “The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection”... textbook?

Opening the front cover, he noticed the handwritten name scribbled right above the title page. “Lauren Wildhawk.”

The realization came as he snapped his head towards the library doors to which the girl had disappeared off to. “Maudit.” He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He needed to finish reading what he started - a habit - and he was sure that the girl needed this book to do whatever she needed to do to be in such a hurry. With a deep sigh, he began to jog his way back into the library.
