Nothing was more exciting than learning a new spell. Maybe opening a chocolate frog is very fun, but you only get a card. And if you learn to cast a spell with your wand, you can use it for different reasons.
Chaewon was jumping on her right leg and then on her left leg while going to the class. She expected to learn a useful spell that she could use in the future. Even though she didn’t want to be a duelist, spells were always important.
But then, when she finally went into the classroom, the excitement was even stronger. There were many broken skeletons, and the professor seemed to be really good at casting spells. The skeletons were most likely to be a Halloween decoration, but Chaewon was not sure. Maybe they are going to do something with the bones?
The girl sat near the desk when the lesson finally started. At first, the professor was talking about some boring things, and Chaewon yawned. She expected to learn a new spell right at the beginning of the lesson, but this wouldn't happen as the professor kept talking nonsense. For others, the Townsend seemed to be the coolest professor, but not for Chaewon. The wooden skeletons couldn't get off of her mind, so she tried to wait patiently.

Sorry it took me a while to get around to this!

Charms was one of his favorite classes. Professor Townsend was always so encouraging. No matter how many times he messed up, he always left the classroom with a feeling that the professor believed in him. That did wonders for his motivation.

This was not just any charms lesson though. It was the first one after IMOG, and he had been in a foul mood since then. The event was fun in itself. He met new people, and had a great deal of fun. The problem was the ice hockey game. His team had lost. It wasn’t really that surprising, with little experience and half of the opposing team being older. Still, it stung his pride.

He had flown very much under the radar since returning to Hogwarts, not wanting others to suffer from his mood. Today he entered the classroom right behind a dark haired girl he knew the look of too well. Lee. One of the first years among the competition. He scowled as he followed her to find a seat. The things spread across the desks he paid precious little attention.

Finding a seat behind the girl, he was quick to pull out a bit of parchment. Efficiently he ripped into long strips and began scrunching them into throwing balls. The lesson started, but he did not pay a lick of attention. Being happy with the first ball, he leaned over his desk. «Hey Lee» He waited just about long enough for her to have the opportunity to turn towards him. «I have a present for you. Here!» With that statement he threw the ball at her head with a snicker.

He did not throw it hard, but he made sure to aim well. As soon as it left his hand he picked up a new strip of paper. Maybe he could get a bit of petty revenge after all? He was more than sure the whole team had cheated. He decidedly pushed away the little voice in his head telling him what he was doing was mean. It was not the time for guilt.
