Dear Grandmother
Dear Grandmother,
How have you been doing? I cannot even begin to explain how much I miss you. I may have to keep this letter brief, as I haven't much time to spare at the moment. However, I promise to write you a longer letter next week. I have something rather brilliant to tell you: the stairs move. Can you believe it? I can barely believe it myself, but I suppose you never can account for all the spells one might learn—even for enchanting stairs, of all things. I still think it's quite incredible, though. Oh! I nearly forgot to mention, I've been sorted into Gryffindor! I am absolutely delighted to be here at Hogwarts. Everything feels so different from home. Anyway, I have to go. I'll send another letter next week when I have a bit more time, so I can fill you in properly. Do write back soon. All my love, and I hope you are doing well.
