Pure Bloods are obviously better

Fawkes enjoyed taking a walk in the courtyard especially at this time of year. It wasn't too cold and it wasn't too hot. The weather was perfect to be outside right now. There were people everywhere conversing with one another. It was quite windy today and due to that Fawkes was able to hear conversations despite being a distance away from a lot of people. Most were talking about their classes or their crushes or general gossip about people. But there was one conversation that caught her off guard.

She looked over to see two Slytherins having a conversation with each other. They were talking about blood purity. Being a half-blood, Fawkes never understood the hype of blood purity some purebloods pushed. Her father was a half-blood descended from a pureblood line while her mother had a muggle parent. To her, there was no difference in the ability of a witch or wizard based on their blood purity. There were highly exceptional muggle borns and there were purebloods who were awful at magic. It simply depended on the ability of the user themselves.

Fawkes decided to confront them. While she normally preferred not to get involved in conversations such as these in order to avoid conflict, she couldn't let this go. She approched them with a determined look on her face. I happened to overhear your conversation and I can't help but disagree with you. Muggle borns can do anything purebloods can. Many of them surpass purebloods easily as well! There are many muggle borns who do exceptional things everyday. She said determined to make a point.

Jada had been talking with Tes in the school's courtyard when the conversation turned towards magical inventions. More specifically, things pure-blooded wizards had invented.

“Only Pure-bloods could do something as great as this. It’s just the truth. You won't see mud.. muggle born wizards do somethign as elaborated these days- or ever.” Tes commented casually. Although both her own parents were wizards, her grandparents weren't and, as much as she loved them, she couldn't help but resent it. She decided it was best just not to mention it. What did it matter anyway?

A Ravenclaw girl walked up to them, her stride fast and purposeful. "I happened to overhear your conversation and I can't help but disagree with you...." Blah blah blah she thought to herself, sighing loudly. The girl's voice itself annoyed her and only got worse as she droned on about how blood-status doesn't play a role in ones magical ability.

"Look, "she said, her voice laid thick with annoyance at being interrupted, "I get it, you don't agree, but there's really no need to comment on it, especially since you shouldn't have been listening eavesdropping anyway."

She wasn't usually this mean but that voice just pissed her off so much she couldn't bring herself to hold back. Besides, this was kinda fun... "I know, you Ravenclaws are used to being all factual and right all the time, but we can be right sometimes too."

Fawkes was kind of stunned at the sudden appearance of the other Ravenclaw. She recognised her as one of the girls who tended to hang out in the common room a lot. She owlishly looked at the girl as she spoke, trying to organise her thoughts. She snapped out of her state and nodded when the girl spoke.

She's right you know. The wind is strong today conversations can easily be heard. For example She pointed to a group on the otherside of the courtyard. Their voices were easily heard despite the fact they weren't speaking loudly. If you don't want your conversation to be overheard maybe a] don't talk so loudly and b] maybe don't speak on such a controversial topic out in the open? You can't speak about blood purity so loudly and expect no one to interrupt you. She said with a clear hint of annoyance in her voice.

She heard the Slytherin girl mention the fact they can be right. She recognised her as Jada Blake, one of the players of the Slytherin Quidditch team. She turned to face her. I'm not saying that Ravenclaws are always right and no one else is. I'm saying that you both are clearly in the wrong. People can be exceptional regardless of blood status so saying purebloods are better because they are purebloods is just factually wrong.

<sub>She stumbled upon a group of girls arguing, not wanting to intrude she walked up and wanted to see what was going on. Angel did hear "Pureblood" and it did peaked her interest as well.
Once she was able to see all of them she stopped walking and listened in.

She was shocked to hear that one of the girls said "Pure bloods are obviously better!" Angel then scanned the girls since the two of them probably were close.

"Of course Slytherins, why does it have to be people in the same house!" Angel let out a groan. She too was also Slytherin, but she was not pleased to know she now met the bad apples of the very house.

Angel also noticed Ravenclaws. They too were displeased by that statement. At least someone else had the same opinion as her. Knowing that those type of Slytherins hate muggles they probably didn't like half breeds too.

Angel brisked walked towards them and crossed her arms.

"I'm very sorry to interrupt but I do believe what you just said reached my ears" she said with a condescending tone

"I hope you know that anyone no matter their heritage or blood can do anything!" Angel added defensively.

The atmosphere changed it was more tense and very quiet.

The others probably thought she was crazy for interrupting randomly but it was very obvious that the statement on which the two girls made, struck a nerve to Angel. She made it clear she didn't let that slide.

<sub>It was only them now, no one was probably going in anyway. Angel cocked her head she shot back.

"You think pure bloods are better do you?" she raised her voice a bit for everyone to hear

The atmosphere only got thicker and got more tight. Angel thought she will probably do what she does best guess the person.

Angel scoffed

"Your Tes Cadell aren't you?" she said with disgust

She leaned back a bit and tilted her head upward

Silence was still there Angel really wasn't going to let this slide.

"The Cadells are very rich, I bet you had the "good life" did you? With servants for you to boss around, and being pampered." she snarled

"I bet you were also taught that am I right?" she continued

"Great! Thanks for your input!" she said with sarcasm

Angel replied back

"Oh right, your welcome for my input it was needed especially towards you." she said with a stern voice she returned the energy

Angel was almost done with being with this group anyway. She decided since she has much better things to pay her attention towards.

Angel walked forward towards Tes and leaned

"Sorry not sorry for interrupting! Also one more thing before I go!" Angel said with a sharp tone

"Your not special just because you're a pure blood" she said with each word articulated

Angel turned and was about to walk away.</sub>

Jada was vaguely aware of the other girls presence as she had approached them during the course of their argument. She'd spaced out during one of the other girls' rants. Honestly, who do they think they are? she thought to herself, they barely even knew the context and had absolutely no reason to be involved in this conversation at all.

Her attention snapped back to the happenings at hand when a further girl approached them. A Slytherin, she thought, perhaps she would back them up.

How wrong she had been. The girl began arguing against them claiming, "I hope you know that anyone no matter their heritage or blood can do anything!" Seriously, it wasn't that deep. Why couldn't they all just take a deep breath and mind their own business? They could have just kept walking and everyone would have been happy, but no, they had to intervene because of their stupid sense of "moral justice".

"Sorry not sorry for interrupting! Also one more thing before I go!", Jada rolled her eyes, "Your not special just because you're a pure blood"

Jada smiled patronisingly at the girl, standing with her back turned towards them but not walking away. What are you waiting for huh? Was that all you have to say? she knew it was a little petty but the girl deserved it. The nosy little thing. She could feel her head pounding as she got progressively more and more worked up. Run along then, back to the shameful hole you came from. A disgrace to their house, thats what it was.

There were still two Ravenclaw girls present, the one from earlier and another who looked a little like herself. Honestly, the Ravenclaws arguing didn't really surprise her, she was just pissed that someone from their own house would have the nerve to do that...
