Aftermath of being Sassed

LOVELY LOVELY banned by Ara Villa
24-25 April
Sako hasn't done much since the dratted lavender robed student sassed him, refused his advice, and stormed out of his office with as much subtly as a pouting child in a time out. They wouldn't make much noise, but they had shown how dissatisfied they were with the situation.
He merely only moved the sketchbook of torn up sketches to the edge of his desk.
Give it a few hours. They might come.
Despite the sudden wrench in his plans today, Sako was quick to get back on track with his other work. Documents upon documents, owls to write, all that good stuff that somewhat managed to distract himself from rethinking his interaction with Fujimoto. Of course during his few coffee breaks, his mind drifted back to the earlier scene in his office.
He knew that he did the right thing. Sako was the elder of 9 siblings, he knew a determined pout when he saw one. Hardly a stranger to children using all sorts of excuses their mind could conjure to blame their outcomes. He had been that sort of kid himself, after all. But had he been too harsh? After much thought: yes. What was it that ticked him off? From when did Fujimoto's words starts to irk Sako to the point of ruining someone clearly dear to Fujimoto?
Had it been the lack of reaction? The reluctance to acknowledge the toxic dependency? The entitlement?
Sako admitted to himself that he was rash, but he had his own reasons as well. He didn't mind becoming disliked if it meant a student would wake up from lofty land and realise the daunting future that was waiting for them after graduation? Was it those particular words ' even if I already knew the content."
He had meant it when he said Fujimoto was a capable student. He had meant it when he said the other had the privilege to choose both.
The man recalled his own childhood, where unlike Fujimoto - he had none of his privileged. He didn't have the gift of memory. He couldn't afford having the arrogance of knowing the material - therefore he could do what he pleased. Art was an entirely different thing. With his parents major concern to ensure everyone in their family wouldn't go hungry, it wasn't an option to request art supplies ' just to try'. Not that it mattered when he was too busy studying anyway. It was perhaps too foreign of a concept for Sako to understand that Hikari relied so much on art to keep a sane state of mind.
Still, not that it mattered. The reality was, he had responsibility of ensure his students knew what they were doing. And the consequences of their actions. If not him, then surely someone else will remind them - perhaps in much harsher ways. But regardless, Fujimoto implied he would prove himself, so Sako wanted to believe him.
Why else would he be waiting in his office until 2 am. While it was unlikely the student would risk detention by being out of curfew, Sako learned Hikari at the moment had an unpredictable schedule. He half hoped to see them storm in a few hours later, calling him out, proving he was capable of fixing his own problems, without the need of a busybody headmaster. Yet with his 3rd cup of coffee - Hikari had not shown up.
Great. So much for knowing your material.
Sako waved his wand over the torn pages of Hikari's sketchbook. " Papyrus Reparo". Just by that, the pages begun mending itself, good as new. Did the other felt like Sako was a bigger barrier than he intended to be? Was he too angry that he forgot the sketchbook was still fixable? This is what happens when you let emotions cloud your judgement too much, Hikari. Not that Sako was any better.
With tired eyes, he placed the sketchbook carefully back in the trunk. Gawd- he was too tired for this.
Like he said, he didn't care what method Hikari used. He only wanted to see results. And he hoped however it may be, Hikari wouldn't jeopardize his grades further than he already had.
