September 1st, 2025, Hogwarts Express
With @Nick Jameson

The smoke from the imposing train already filled the platform, signaling that departure was imminent. Dakota’s heart raced with excitement. She had waited so long for this moment. Finally, she would set off on new adventures with her older brothers, whom she had watched leave for Hogwarts one by one. Lucian’s departure had been especially hard on her. For an entire year, the lessons with Milo, their tutor, had dragged on endlessly. The whispers she once shared with Lucian, her closest brother in age, were sorely missed.

For the occasion, their parents had even come to see them off—a most unusual event, which had happened only once before, on the very first journey to Hogwarts of Weston, the eldest of the siblings; no doubt one of the privileges of being the only girl in the family.

The whistle of the Hogwarts Express rang out, signaling to the students that it was time to board. The little blonde threw her arms around her mother; the latter offered a wistful smile before turning to Weston.
« - Take good care of her.
- Of course, Mother. You have my word. »

Dakota kissed her father, who advised her not to get herself into trouble, knowing perfectly well she wouldn’t. Then she ruffled the hair of her two younger brothers. Alistair broke into deep sobs. She hugged him tightly, whispering reassurances that she would be back for the holidays before he even realized she had gone.

She followed her four older brothers and settled with them in an empty compartment. Naturally, she took her place between Weston and Lucian; she always felt safe beside the wiser of them. Benedict could not resist teasing her, a mischievous smile playing at the corner of his lips. « So, Dakota—feeling the pressure yet? Which House do you think you’ll end up in? Hufflepuff, perhaps? ». She shot him a dark look.
« - You know perfectly well I’ll be in Gryffindor, like all of you.
- That’s far from certain, you know. The Sorting Hat may have other plans for you—who can say?
- Benedict, leave her be, Weston intervened calmly.
Do you think she hasn’t already asked herself those very questions?
It’s stressful enough as it is.
»
As always, the eldest had found just the right words to give voice to his little sister’s feelings. She said nothing more, and simply tossed her cloak at Benedict’s head in protest.

Hope the Thestrals attack you
His Brother was being his usual annoying and rude self Nick turned cautiously towards him to see him with his arms crossed smirking
John don’t be rude
His mother said to his brother she then said to him
Don’t listen to your sibling and have fun and remember to keep in touch I will nag you if you don’t owl at least twice a month now remember just run at the barrier if your nervous if not lean against it and fall through it but no injuries or your coming straight home
Nick started to go red as he lent on the barrier and went through as soon as he was on the platform he noticed a direct change in atmosphere. After a few seconds his brother appeared and said to him
If your in Slytherin we’ll disinherit you or Hufflepuff or Gryffindor just make sure you are in Ravenclaw
With that he ran away to talk to some of his friends.
His Mother spoke again
Be safe and do not do anything stupid
I won’t Mum
As he said this steam bellowed and he got on the train and when’s to a carriage and asked the people in there
Can I sit here

The cloak hit Benedict squarely in the face. He bent quickly, snatched it up, a defiant gleam in his eyes. « Oh, so you want to play like that? » He made his way to the train window, opened it, and hung his sister’s cloak out into the open air.
« Seems like you don’t care much about it, I suppose it won’t be of any use to you. »
« Benedict, stop that right now! »
Dakota rushed at her brother, determined to reclaim what was hers. Weston raised his wand, preparing to cast two Full Body-Bind Curses to calm his younger siblings.

Just then, a young boy, about her age, entered the compartment and asked if he could sit. The effect was immediate. If there was one thing you could say about the Goldhavens, it was that they knew how to behave in public. Benedict pulled the cloak back in, closed the window, and laid it gently on Dakota’s suitcase. She turned around and gave the newcomer a wide smile.
« Of course, sit down, there’s plenty of space! Are you starting your first year at Hogwarts too? »
He was rather tall, with brown hair. At first glance, he didn’t seem very approachable, but the little blonde never relied on her first impression and preferred to really get to know someone before forming an opinion.
