Unreleased PV Group Hio Band – Auditions

Laasya waited as everybody else was approaching the location of the auditions. Most of the kids were first or second years but there were some older kids as well. There were a lot of people at the site, much more than Laasya expected. "Will I be able to make the auditions?" Laasya thought to herself as even more people arrived. Most of the peole were practicing with their instruments but unfortunatley, she did not have her own piano to practice with. Luckily, Julia Evans had found some instruments in the room of requirement and she was using that instead, since the piano she did have at home was way too big to carry all the way to Hogwarts. Eventually at 5:10, Julia Evans had an announcement to make after everyone had finally arrived and were sitting down. She announced that the winning song was Viva La Vida, a muggle song by the band Coldplay. Laasya had not heard about either the band or the song but she hoped that it started nice. She really needed to improve her music knowledge as even some pureblood children who did not have much popular song knowledge in the beginning knew much better than Laasya did. She was hoping she would get to listen to the song before the actual show started.



After the announcement, Julia handed everyone small slips of paper. The slips of paper, as she said were used for the director voting. Laasya was surprised when Julia revealed the candidates, there were only two; Julia Evans the founder and Ada Hawkins, someone which Laasya did not know as well. Julia wrote both names on the blackboard and Laasya stared at her slip, trying to decide who to vote for. After what seemed like a million hours, she finally made her decision. She wrote the name lightly with a ballpen she had somewhere which she got from her home in London, as back then she did not know wizards used quills to write. 'Julia Evans' she wrote while examining it. She knew her a bit better than she knew Ada and thought she would be a great director. The name was blue, like the color of Julia's hair, and a tad bit lopsided but who cared? After all it was just a vote for a director, not a handwriting competition. She scanned the area for the ballot box and the line. After noticing it she waliked over to it, put her slip in it and walked back to her spot. She was very excited for what would happen next.

Lily didn't seem to notice the letter sitting on top of her trunk, as she moved about the room. The contents of the letter were:

Hi ______!

I hope you're well. This is to inform you that the auditions for the Hio Band will happen on 27th January, from 5-6 pm at the outdoor club area.

And ofcourse she was still in bed at 4:55. Then, her friend entered the dorm and seemed surprised seeing Lily there. She couldn't quite place the confusion when suddenly her friend said, "Aren't you supposed to be in a club meeting somewhere?" Club meeting? Lily sat up on her bed and her thoughts began racing in her mind. And then it hit her. The music club. Meeting in the Outdoor Club Area.

She stumbled out the bed, hurrying to put her cloak on and grabbed her wand. And mumbling a thanks to her friend, she rushed out of the dorm and the house. She stepped outside in the corridors and rushed towards the Club Area. Oh, why was she always late to meetings like these?

She stumbled into the open air in a few minutes. The cold air stung her lungs a bit, even though it was just evening. She rushed towards the Area, where a small crowd had already gathered. As always, she would arrive the last......

"Hey!! Sorry I am late.... What are we doing right now?" She scanned her surroundings. She knew several people around, which was either a good thing or a bad one, considering she had entered the last....

Suddenly, she was handed a slip. It looked that they were choosing the directors. Oh okay, working fast.

She looked down at the chit in her fingers. There were two names: Julia Evans and Ada Hawkins. Both of them were good friends of Lily. Who to choose?

Julia was a kind Ravenclaw, smart and confident. Lily had met her on the train ride to Hogwarts. Ada was a friendly Gryffindor, loyal and courageous. Lily had bumped into her in the Great Hall.

She decided to go with her instincts, which told her to choose Julia. Julia looked like she could handle a tough crowd. Although she doubted that Ada couldn't do it either. But she went with her instincts and arrived at her decision.

She folded the piece of paper and went to put it in the ballot box. The line was thinning out, as the people were sitting back on the places. She just hoped that her decision would be right......
