OOC Information
This thread takes place during the afternoon of April 5th. The first post of each person would be getting ready etc, once I post for the second time, the game is on! There are two actions one can choose from every round: DODGING and CASTING. Dodging will give you a +6 to your evasion roll, whereas casting a spell is... well, casting a spell.
If you choose to cast a spell, the success of the casting will be determined by a dice roll with a DC of 12. There is a blanket for the people who lost already, so that they can sit down and watch the others play. After you are hit by a spell, please post one more time stating whether you leave or stay one the blanket to watch the other students play.
How is a dodge's/spell's success determined?
ReducioWISDOM
This is the most important roll at first, because it will determine whether you can even cast the spell. I will roll a d20 and add the wisdom stat to it. If you reach a DC of 12 with this, this means your OC successfully launched the spell.ACCURACY
This determines whether you actually hit your target. To hit your target you need this roll to be higher than your targets roll. This will be rolled by using a d20 and adding your accuracy stat.
against
EVASION
This determines whether you are hit or are missed by the spell. To be missed by the spell this roll needs to be higher than the casters accuracy. The default roll would be a d20 and adding your evasion stats. If you have chosen the dodge action instead of actually casting a spell, the roll stays the same but a +6 will be added to the result of the dice, giving you a roll advantage.

The third year was sitting on the grounds on a blanket and the place was quite busy at the moment with students. It was a warm day after all and what was better to do on a warm day than to actually play a game? He had no idea what had given him this burst of extroversion, but in the heat of the moment he jumped up from the blanket he was sitting on just moments before and waved to no one in particular. ”H-Hey anyone up for a g-game of t-t-tag?!”, he would asked with his voice raised. It was nearly a shout even, but not even close to a scream, but he hoped that he could gather a good amount of attention with this.
Once a smaller crowd gathered, he would glance around a bit nervously, yet excited about it. ”S-So uh- it is g-gonna be with magic! In or-order to tag s-someone you need t-to hit th-them with the Dancing F-Feet Spell! I-If you a-are hit, you l-lose!”, he explained carefully, hoping that it made sense to everyone. ”O-Obviously that means th-that you cannot u-use physical attacks a-at all or you are out!”, he warned the students that had gathered, so that they would not even try to cheat. He would proceed to point out an area, by making a vague motion with his arm, ”W-We can't l-leave this area unl-less we want to be out and uh.. the l-last person left will uh...”, he hummed in thought, checking his pocked he could feel a few plastic wrappers and his eyes lit up as he pulled out one of the wrapped chocolate frogs. ”The w-winner will get f-five of these!”, he exclaimed cheerfully, holding up the chocolate frog to the group of students, before he put it back into the pocket of his school robe.
”I'm Alan by the way, f-for those who don't know me!”, he introduced himself, as he took off his school robe and placed it onto the blanket he had been sitting on moments ago, before he had gotten all that confidence. ”I-If you got any questions, a-ask away and get i-into position”, he explained, a big grin on his face.

The afternoon began simply enough, nothing outside the norm for young Pericles. He concluded Herbology, packed his things, and headed towards the castle. There was something satisfying about keeping to a tidy little schedule. With all the chaos teeming under Hogwarts' surface, the mystery and uncertainty and potential doom, it was nice to know he could come back to a warm meal and a (probably) safe bed. With his leather book bag slung over a shoulder, the Ravenclaw drifted in what looked like a state of deep daydreaming. His stare was soft and wandering. The boy walked with an untroubled gait, in no hurry, focusing on nothing in particular. Alan's voice drifted through his fog of contemplation.
Slowing his step and turning his head, he fixed that pale gaze on the other boy. Did he want to play tag? It sounded like good fun, but he could hardly remember the last time (or any time) he'd played. The internal struggle was thankfully brief. As soon as he overhead that magic would be involved, Pericles deviated from the path and curiously came closer. A tentative smile started to curl one corner of his mouth. "Hello Alan! That sounds like fun." He crossed the yard and offered out his hand. "My name's Pericles, and I'll play!"

It wasn’t a secret that Willow often walked the grounds and courtyards whenever she had free time during the day and when the weather allowed. It was often how she came upon fun activities run by students, most recently the April Fool’s day pool party that she had immensely enjoyed besides the minor breakdown hiccup in the middle. Today was no exception as she heard a familiar Gryffindor’s voice that filled her with glee.
Quickly she was able to spot him and ran to join him and another boy, a Ravenclaw named Pericles. Willow pulled Alan into a quick hug before Pericles offered his hand for a handshake. She stepped back and figured she should probably introduce herself. “Its nice to meet you Pericles, I’m Willow. Alan, this is a lovely idea you’ve come up with. I haven’t been able to practice Tarantellegra for awhile, I’ve been itching for some extra practice.”
Willow had felt lacking in the continual practice department of actually learning and retaining spells with how much information was continually packed into her brain. This would be the perfect time to not only have some fun, but practice casting. She was practically bouncing like a bunny in excitement.

Desperate for a change of scenery, Lydia had set up her own blanket not too far away. The Ravenclaw common room was always much too distracting when she tried to work, and the library had books that were much more interesting than Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk.
She couldn't say it was working too well - she was reading over a sentence on the origin of the Wingardium Leviosa charm for the fifth time now - but at least the scenery was nice.
With a dramatic sigh, Hughes looked up. Only moments later, she heard someone not too far away announcing... a game? The Ravenclaw was interested, but it wasn't until two others joined in that she was really interested. She looked back down at her scattered homework and sad-looking charms textbook - surely such a game would count as practice? It couldn't hurt anyway, right?
A small smile pricked at her lips and she didn't hesitate much longer, jumping to her feet. Lydia jammed the bits of parchment between the pages of her Book of Spells, slamming the book shut and tucking it under her arm before scooping her blanket up and making her way, rather ungracefully, to the group.
"I'd love to play, if there's room for another," she managed with a wide smile, slightly out of breath. The Ravenclaw dropped the bundled up picnic blanket to the ground and placed her book ontop (in only a slightly more dignified manner).
"Lydia Hughes, by the way. Nice to meet you guys!"
but to feel nothing as to not feel anything - what a waste

It was a warm day- sure. But for whatever reason the radiating warmth, made the day feel like a gross one. For the metamorph at least. She had been sprawled in the grass near the lake, for the past hour and a half. The only thing keeping her comfortable was the shade of a nearby tree, and an expensive folding fan. "This day is rather droll. Don't you think, Schrödinger?" She rolled over to look at the lob of grey fur, that was resting near her head. The cat gave his mistress a lazy blink, with his sleepy, orange eyes. "Don't look at me like that." She rolled back to her original position. She observed the slow clouds, with her hazy, yellow hues. Her petite hand lazily waved the fan to and fro, as if trying to blow her boredom away.
And for a second, she was quite convinced that it did. Off in the distance she heard a small voice- it could have very well been one that she summoned from her head. In fact thats what she initially thought it was, until she realized that the voice had an odd way of speaking. Its sounded...well, broken. Sitting up, she would search for the source of the voice. She would watch a few kids flock over to another boy. He was vaguely familiar- he was probably in S.W.A.G, or even in one of her classes, but she wasn't sure.
Curious about the commotion, she too would begin to flock over to the familiar face, cat in arms. The sight of a mop, of slicked white hair, would catch her attention. "Pericles! Hallo." She bounded over to the group, arriving just in time to hear the rules. Her greeting quickly came to a halt however, when she took notice of some unfamiliar faces. Her little black daggers cautiously bounced from face to face, two of which, belonged to strangers. "Hallo." Her tone was quieter, more authoritative this time, when addressing the overall group. She would plop Schrödinger down on the grass next to her. "Can I play?" She asked, eyeing the chestnut-haired third year. Tag was one of the few games she actually new how to play- well, kind of. In her first year- those were much simpler times; she had played a game of Rictusempra Tag. That was fun. Well, she remembered it being fun.

Ever since the charms class where Donald learned the dancing legs charm, he had been hoping to use it on a person. That day out on the grounds there was surprising not much to do. Going for a walk seemed relaxing for moment. All of the school work for the particular moment had been finished and it was a nice day to head out. The kid who stood up to announce the game seemed to be the definition of shy, but at least he was organizing a game. Tarantallegra was one of the few spells he actually had memorized so hopefully he wouldn't be totally shamed here. Play time and practice time combined would be good.
"Well, here goes," Donald said quietly to himself as he approached the small group at the blanket slowly.
Luckily, the only thing the Hufflepuff boy had on hand was his wand. No books or anything to awkwardly set to the side before playing. A quick entrance and a quick escape would be possible without fussing. Not that Donnie wanted to avoid other kids. He just was worried if he did poorly they'd tease him.
"I'll play, if there's room." Donald said firmly, not revealing the tinge of anxiety inside.

Alan did not have to wait long until a few students gathered who seemed like they were planning to join in on the small game. He was glad that it attracted at least some attention, because it would have been weird if it didn't, which is why he smiled brightly at the boy who introduced himself as Pericles. Alan nodded in excitement, when he mentioned that he would join the game, before he was pulled into a hug by none other than Willow. He was focused on Pericles, which is why the hug caught him by surprise and made him stagger a little. But then he just glanced down to Willow and smiled warmly at his friend. "G-Glad you c-could join!", he announced softly but glanced over to the white haired boy to vaguely let him know he was included in this statement.
A girl with soft ginger curls joined them and Alan was surprised at the group he has been able to gather, smiling brightly at the girl, even though his eyes were shifting over to Willow nervously; the only familiar face so far. Well of course he had only seen Pericles the day before, but he would not really call him familiar. He needed yet to have the chance to actually talk to the boy, but he assumed that was an action for another day, since he wanted to keep the game going. "Glad t-to have you, L-Lydia", he said with a nod before repeating the nonverbal gesture to another person he knew from the S.W.A.G club. He only now realized how many people he had met through that club without actually having gotten a chance to truly interact with them!
One last kid arrived [Donald] before Alan was sure that they could start the game. It seemed like they had gathered enough people to make this game fun. "Th-There is, there is!", he mentioned, before quickly repeating the rules for those that arrived late to the scene and then watched as the people spread out, if they decided to do so. He took a few feet distant at least to all the other kids and hoped the other kids would get the hint. "Th-The game st-starts now!", he announced and prepared himself to dodge, if needed.

Pericles' enthusiasm mounted when they were joined by an energetic Hufflepuff. A group was gathering quickly, a sign they wouldn't be waiting long at all." A pleasure to meet you too, Willow," the Ravenclaw returned with a toothy smile, and to Alan he added, "Glad you thought of it. It's an excellent idea really." Tarantallegra was a harmless enough spell on its own, amusing even, and a little game of casting would make for practical practice. The Ravenclaw which joined them was a vaguely familiar face. Peri supposed he may have seen the girl in passing, perhaps in their common room. He greeted the fellow bird with a subtle nod of camaraderie before chirping back "Hullo, Lydia! The more the merrier, yes?" That questioning note was paired with a glance towards Alan, seeking affirmation.Interacting with @Alan Vanes @Willow Anderson, @Lydia Hughes, @Xailah Alptraum, @Donald Fish.
Focus diverted when he heard his name called out, the enthusiasm behind that familiar voice causing an instant spike of vicarious joy, and the boy brightened considerably as he called back: "Xailah! And Sir Schrödinger! You'll play with us, won't you?" Naturally, the boy bee-lined for the cat, meaning to give him a chummy scritch behind an ear in greetings to him and his mistress. The eagerness expressed to play with a friend suited his age, watering down the serious tone Pericles tried (and failed) to invoke next. "I'll warn you though: I won't be picking a partner this time." His pale brows arched to emphasize his "seriousness". "I'll see you dance if you aren't careful!" It was hardly a threat. The lad was beaming too brightly, adrenaline visibly on the rise, the innocent promise of play mingling with a dangerous allure for slinging spells. The last to join them, an unfamiliar Hufflepuff (Donald), was welcomed with a wave and a softer, nigh reassuring smile meant to counter the nervousness he heard in the other boy's voice.
Before he could get all too friendly with any of them, the game began. Peri lurched a pace away, the abrupt motion transitioning into a swift trot, trying to put some distance between himself and the others. He whipped his elegant aspen wand from a robe pocket while seeking cover, behind which he could form a plan or analyze a target.

It seemed the game was starting with Donald slipping in at the last moment. He had not really had time to introduce himself at first. The game was starting and soon he'd be targeting people as a stranger. Now that would seem rude from what his parents would say. Just as everyone was starting to disperse from the blanket, he spoke up again to the group.Interacting with @Alan Vanes @Willow Anderson @Lydia Hughes @Xailah Alptraum @Pericles Dralt
"My name is Donald by the way," he said more confidently now that he was hardly acknowledged by the group. "Good luck!"
The time for introductions had come to end though as Alan started the game. Don's wand flew into his hand to get ready to throw down. He did not expect to win, but he wanted to make friends at least. He wasn't knowledgeable in dueling or avoiding spells but he did know how to point and yell a spell out. At first a couple of the players seemed too far away to target so he picked the girl nearby. Her name was unknown to him but she would hopefully be taken off guard by the quick spell.
Tarantallegra!" Donald spouted out as he pointed the wand at her legs, making the little table motion he remembered from class.
Here's hoping no one gets me and I hit her... He thought as the spell was in motion.
