Quidditch Training Pitch

A weathered dirt footpath, its once vibrant hue now faded by the passage of time, wanders away from the glamour of the Quidditch Stadium. It winds down a gentle slope, weaving its way past a cluster of trees until it unveils a small but mighty location in the realm of broom sports—the quidditch training pitch.

This secluded sanctuary is embraced by crumbling stone walls, creating a protective barrier that shields it from prying eyes and safeguards passers-by from unpredictable rogue bludgers. The weather-beaten stones bear the scars of countless Scottish winters, their surfaces stained and cracked, the weight of their age collapsing down on them. In the warmer seasons, ivy and moss ascend the walls, reaching toward the parapets and shrouding the aged stones in a creeping embrace.

Within the stone walls, rickety wooden goalposts stand on either side of the pitch. Although noticeably smaller and far from meeting official regulations, they serve their purpose well for impromptu scrimmages and practice. Positioned closer to the ground, these goalposts, almost half the height of their larger counterparts, seem designed to mitigate height-induced injuries.

A distinctive draw of the training pitch was its deliberate lack of spectator seating. Instead, a handful of weathered wooden benches dot the perimeter, allowing little more than seating for benched team members, or perhaps quidditch hopefuls waiting for their turn to try out for the team. This intentional absence made the pitch into a haven for secret practice sessions, safe from the prying eyes of rival house teams attempting to glean insights into strategies or formations.
