Study Room Informational

Second only to the Library, the Study Room on the second floor of the castle was an ideal location for any seeking a bit of peace and quiet. Tables can be found arranged in haphazard orientation, with chairs pulled up to them to serve as surfaces for study and quiet discussion. Lining one wall, moderately sized bookshelves contain a variety of books for casual reading, although only a minuscule fraction of that which could be found within the library. Oddly, several copies of "Alice in Wonderland" can be found, and no amount of their removal from the classroom seems to dwindle their supply. The only resource books to speak of, however, are the odd school book for one class or another, likely left by students long-since graduated.

In addition to these, one may find any supplies that students might require to complete their assignments, such as spare quills, ink, and parchment. These are regularly replenished as their stocks dwindle. Aside from these details, the room is relatively unremarkable. A collection of plain rugs of various muted colours overlap, stone floor peeking up through small lapses only infrequently, in order to muffle the sound of steps and moving furniture. The walls are bare of any portraits, paintings, or even windows, so as not to distract from studies and assignments. Instead, a perusal of the stonework reveals framed hangings of motivational quotes. Inspiration to keep students on track and take their education seriously.

Really, it is hardly different from any other empty and unused classroom. Or would be, if it weren't for the fact that this room, unlike the others, had been enchanted to possess certain characteristics under specific circumstances. Circumstances known only to a select few who would find themselves the recipient of detention within these four walls. The clock hanging at what would be the front of any other classroom, for example, while generally eerily silent, begins to strike each second like the tolling of a bell. Any who attempt to leave by the closed door during the duration of their required tenure will find themselves blown back as though by a formidable wind pressure. Even objects that come into contact with the portal will be torn from the hand of their wielder to be thrown across the room. And when the time is up.. Well.. Something rather curious happens then.
