Hospital Wing Description
Initial descriptions from Evelynn DecipioThe Room
One can find the hospital wing on the third floor corridors, where the large double doors stands. When they would open the doors to reveal the grand interiors, they would find beds on both sides of the walls covered and draped with white linen sheets, with privacy curtains put away. The scenery is admittedly a little drab, the temperature kept cold and the auditory reception of the room would be mixed between muffled whispers and the birds or rain outside the window, as well as a bunsen burner boiling water in the distance. The ceilings are highly vaulted and diamond-pictured windows on both walls allow for the sunlight to come in. However, unlike how the hospital wing has been in the past, it does have a few decors that Nancy has set up for the intent of making it feel like home.
Sitting along the edge of the Hospital Wing sat a rather large desk, plants and picture frames covering most of the available space. Front and center sat a large terracotta pot with the name ‘Fred’ painted messily across the front in black. An older Venus Flytrap resided in this pot, having survived multiple attempts throughout the years at being destroyed, but it was thriving. The picture frames, on the other hand, contained family pictures. Some were pictures of Nancy’s nieces, while others were of her siblings and their families. One picture of Emrys sat beside Fred, while one of her grandparents was on the other side.
Behind the desk was a large chalkboard, firmly hanging from the wall. Important information was written on the board, whether it was a reminder for Nancy or instructions for students assisting in the Hospital Wing, it did not matter. Under the board sat multiple filing cabinets, filled with student files and important books, locked away from the grubby hands of the students.
There would also be a few large pots of ferns lying around the corners of the room, and in the far back is the Relaxation Tent, which meant that beds were set to be closer together but a few were also removed to make space for it. If there comes a time that these extra beds are needed, the relaxation tent will come down and the extra beds are wheeled into place.
Those who vomited or had to have a piece of flesh or content removed from the body will have a bedpan near them, but for those who did not nor are the ones that need it, the bedpans will be completely cleaned, sanitized and put away.
Syringes, scalpels and other tools used that involve touching flesh or in general, the muddled air, will not be in general provision, but will be found in Octavius's desk only for his usage and with permission granted.
The room smells like a mixture of healing ointments and disinfectant. It isn't the most pleasing of scents, but it was not meant to keep people around.
The Medicinal Shelves
The shelves are of large widths but hidden behind the desk of the Nurse. The height reaches to twenty feet, allowing for multiple things to be stored. On Shelf One, there will be all of the balms and potions that can be used for medicinal purposes organized alphabetically from top to bottom, left to right. On Shelf Two, bedpans, needles, syringes, scalpels, blankets, hand sanitizers, and so on can all be found on it. Every student who uses an item from the shelves is expected to go to the clipboard hanging off the wooden plank on the shelf and write down what they took and their name as well as the date. If it comes to using potions and balms or having access to sharp materials like scalpels and syringes and needles, the nurse has to sign the form saying they gave permission and will take responsibility.
Relaxation Tent/Corner/Canopy
A white canopy is established in the back of the hospital wing as it is to give a singular space for students and adults to relax, where no one else can intervene. Different variations of plants could be found inside, along with a lava lamp, Himalayan salt lamp, and gramophone. Anyone who would want to decompress for a minute or two would be more than welcome to, but they had to sign in and sign out via the clipboard outside of the entry to the canopy as only one singular person was allowed in.
The File Cabinet
A simple gray file cabinet with three drawers stacked vertically, sits right besides the Nurse's desk with locks. Now, the Nurse has cast an anti-alohomora charm on the file cabinet, meaning it can only be opened physically via the keys in their possession.
The file cabinet is not seen by anyone other than the nurse themselves for the purpose of patient-nurse confidentiality.
The Care
Whether someone has scraped their knee or have mumblemumps, or well, anything else that isn't considered life-threatening, will be treated by the Nurse with the best of their care. If the condition the patient is in is life threatening and there's not much the Nurse can do, the patient will be sent to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.
The nurses either have to borrow potions and balms from the Potions storeroom or they will brew their own, depending on how much time they are allotted and how busy it is.

Hospital Wing Description
The image used is ai generated. The Relaxation CanopyA round white canopy is set up, all sides of it covered with a white sheet of fabric on each side, to give a feeling as if it were true walls. One wall had a slit in the middle from the bottom up, and it was bound with velcro for the students to open and close at will.
Inside the canopy was a soft bed in the middle but an inch from the back wall. Over the bed was additional white fabric to cloak three sides of the bed, hanging from the ceiling of the canopy where they all came to meet. There were a few circular, but small, tables in the area. Two tables had a salt rock lamp and a lava lamp, tiered where the lava lamp was on the top of the table and the salt rock lamp was right below it. Around the canopy, some hanging up, some on tables, some lying on the floor were some plants of different types.
The plants were the Snake Plant (releases oxygen when the temperature cools, or at night), Lavendar (enhances relaxation, relieve stress and reduce restfulness), Peace Lily (boost energy and optimism, proven by NASA via the 1980s Clean Air Study to remove toxins (Benzene and Trichloroethylene)), Moth Orchid (encourages calm) and the Jade Plant (releases oxygen when the temperature cools, or at night).
The canopy could be accessible in the far back of the hospital wing, where a few beds were removed to make room for the canopy. Octavius did not make a lot of change to the layout of the room, it would still be mostly familiar, the only difference would be that four beds were missing out of the twenty or so still in the room-- as well as the obvious, the sight of the white canopy. On the outside of the Canopy was a gramophone with music picked out by Octavius. There were five laying out in view, but if the student brought their own music, he would still allow them to use it, even if it were not music that he liked.
He did not hang up fairy lights or use the starry sky solution (which would be a repeated use and would take too long to brew.) Instead, the soft lighting the students would get if they elect to use the relaxation room was of a Himalayan salt rock lamp with a lava lamp, something to watch as the bubbles move up and down steadily in the glass vial.
He placed a small wooden table on the outside of the entryway to the canopy with a quill, black ink and a clipboard with paper on it. The paper was a sign in and sign out sheet so that they know if there is a person in the canopy or not. Only one person at a time was allowed in the room, no more. You are allowed to say you are using the Relaxation Canopy in your roleplays, however, keep in mind that only one person is allowed in at a time and if caught, Octavius will step in and intervene as the policy of the usage of the canopy is for decompressing and finding peace and detoxifying, not to chatter away with your friend.
OC Notice: You can mention being in it. It's not a one person can post until they're done like the office thread. Just-- roleplay as if in it in your own thread.
