The (Un)Sleeper

Carina understood why she might have been tired during fall. It’s alright, the chilly weather and dulling colours demand it, she said to herself. She also understood why she might have been tired during winter. It is the darkest season, who is not tired?

It was a way of lying to herself to avoid the hospital wing, as she had never been this tired in her life. But after noticing that she started to doze off in her favourite classes, she did the unthinkable.

Or rather, the most shameful thing she thought she could do.

Go to the hospital wing.

After all, she quickly learned the bad reputation of Slytherins and, for once in her life, wanted to stay on the dark about something. That also meant she did not kno the Slytherin’s reputation inside of the infirmary, nor she wanted to find out.

But here she was. So, she first casually wandered in front of the entrance of the hospital wing, then turned to look at the relatively empty corridor before entering.

It was… slightly as she had imagined it. Just more welcoming. She did not see the nurse in sight, which ironically relieved her.

Carina did not know what to ask.

I can’t sleep. I know it is not an injury, but can you do something about it? I might be whining and trying to boast about studying all night long.

That is how she (dramatically) sounded in her head as she thought about how it will sound such request.

Incredibly immersed in her thoughts to notice she was pacing quite aggressively beside an occupied hospital bed.

Even if up or down for thou, in the search of all knowledge and power for my soul I thrive.
