Cupid's Cookies

Skylar walks into the courtyard and cannot help but let out a little ‘woah’ at the breathtaking sight. There were elegant rose petals scattered around the ground and lit candles that offer a warm, inviting glow. The sweet smelling atmosphere and the light music playing in the background gives Skylar a warm feeling inside. Many students, and even staff, were already roaming around the courtyard. Some were enjoying the time with their friends, some were shyly holding hands, and some were dancing together to a tune only they could hear.
But Skylar, despite her desire for a fantasy-like love story, is not here for the romantic atmosphere. People come and go, relationships start and end. One thing that always stays constant in Skylar’s life is — food. That’s right. Skylar makes a beeline straight towards the plates and plates of delicious pastries on the various tables.
The sweet smelling aroma of sugar and tea fill the air as Skylar nears the tables. Several people were decorating cookies and many looked like they were having the time of their lives. Skylar weaves around the crowds and even steals a little bit of frosting to taste. Cookies, cookies, and even more cookies. Sugar cookies, heart-shaped cookies, and chocolate chip cookies. Skylar grabs a plate and loads up on the sweets. She wonders if she could bring some to her dorm. Probably not. She does not want any visits from ants or rats anytime soon.
With her assortment of cookies, Skylar makes her way to the decorating table. Deciding to unleash her creative talent, Skylar begins to decorate. She does not know how long she has been decorating, but she made at least eight incredibly detailed cookies. Most likely even more, given that she ate as she went. Skylar feels very proud of one that was this beautiful sunset over the courtyard. Despite being limited to only frosting and sugar, she was still able to make a pretty convincing sunset and a few dollops of red frosting for the roses.
For the rest of the night, Skylar enjoys her pastries and cookies with a side of tea. It was really nice, especially with the music playing in the background. Skylar watches as people dance around each other, enjoying the happy atmosphere despite not dancing herself. Seeing others so joyful was enough to make her smile. She cleans up her plates and heads back to the castle. She hums to herself as she goes back to her dorms. She thinks of all the happy couples and the fun they were having. Maybe, just maybe, that could be her someday, too.

The boy paused as he heard the question, belatedly realizing she was still sitting by him. Glancing up to her, his silvery eyes certainly held no welcoming gleam, but he didn't seem mad either. Really it was a tad hard to tell what the boy was feeling, he seemed to have a rather limited range of facial expressions. He didn't seem to bother trying to hid his sketch even after being reminded that she was there though. "I'm sketching... eagle-lion, those creatures, with too many different spellings of its name," he attempted to explain, probably failing miserably while doing so. Not that he really cared.==========
The fact that he had even decided to answer was enough progress to satisfy him for the day. Having his train of thought distracted by... social niceties, wasn't really something he was fond of. Glancing over at his cookies he huffed lightly, they suddenly looked rather unappetizing. "I mostly draw magical creatures," he added on belatedly, leaning to the side as he rested his cheek on his fist and crossed his other leg. After having scrawled more frustrated commentary on the drawing rather then actually finishing it, he decided to give up on the endeavor for now, flipping instead to an unfinished sketch of a sea serpent and deciding to continue the grueling task of drawing scales instead.

Sora was told by a girl that he was a stalker. He replied, "Yea, for sure I'm a stalker, hehehehehe, hihihihi, while rubbing his hands, and said just kidding" in a mischievous way. The girl was confused and made a disgusting face. Sora was intrigued by her. Sora sat up straight and tapped to her right shoulder. The girl said "What's up?". Sora then greeted her and said "Yo, What's up", in a cool and nonchalant way. The air was awkward. 3 minutes passed by, and he introduced her with incomplete information. Sora learned her name is Cash. Sora heard that Cash speaking Spanish and Sora saw Cash with somebody else. Sora was amazed that there were people all over the world that attended this event. Sora saw that Cash was decorating some cookies. Sora asked her, "May I help you decorate some cookies?" Cash went silent. Sora then got another cookie and decorated them, then Sora got some fresh batched tea, poured the tea in the cup, sipped the tea, dipped the cookie that was decorated in the cup, and eating it while sipping the tea. Sora has 2 decorated cookies left. He is confused on whether to give it to someone or just eat it. Sora gave the 2 decorated cookies to Cash.

Cupid's Cookies
Laasya looked up while placing her cookie aside. There was a girl, her age, with long, blue hair, standing nearby her table. She had asked Laasya whether she knew her or not. Laasya tried to recall all her moments where she had seen a girl with blue hair. In the History of Magic classroom? In the Hogwarts Express? Laasya thought as she grabbed another cookie and invited the girl to sit with her, whoever she may be. And then it finally occurred to her, the girl was Julia Evans, a first year like Laasya and the host of the band auditions that took place nearly a month ago, on the 27th of January. "I know you, you're Julia Evans right?" Replied Laasya as she grabbed so more decorations for her next cookie, she was determined to make at least another one before the tea party ended. "I'll make you a cookie."
●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●❤︎●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●
She examined the plain, heart-shaped cookie and then examined the supplies. What could she make for Julia? Then it occurred to her. Julia's hair was dyed a really pretty shade of blue that would make Laasya's nosy aunt complain about how trends these days were ruining kids, while letting her own daughter scroll on social media 24/7. So, Laasya decided to make her a blue themed cookie. First, she took a sip of her tea, which had luckily cooled down a bit, making it nice and warm. Then she took a bit of light-blue frosting and spread it over the cookie while being careful now to spill any on the tablecloth. After that was done, she took some white sprinkles and added them on to the cookie a little at a time. Then she put the sprinkles down and admired her cookies. One of them was pink with a white flower on it, while the other was blue. She gave the blue cookie while saying, "Hope you have a great Valentine's Day!"

━━━━━━━ ♔ ━━━━━━━━
Valentine’s Day was one of the holidays either vilely loathed or simply tolerated by her demographic; single, mid-teenage girls. Guinevere fell into the latter. She enjoyed how the occasion incited cute and dainty decorations around the school, as well as the pink and red themed treats. As for the “season of love,” she didn’t find that the month of February made her any more boy-crazy or romantic.
It was the evening of the festivity, and while passing through her house’s common room, she had heard mutterings about a certain tea party out in front of the lake:
“Are you going with anybody to the tea party?” one voice asked. Guinevere couldn’t make out the face, as the dark green light from the lake washed out every color in the Slytherin dungeon. Recently, the reds and pinks of Valentines were especially dull, which she didn't mind either.
“Oh, I started talking with this boy a couple weeks ago, I’ll see if he’s going,” the second disembodied voice replied. “What about you?”
The first girl responded something about coming along.
At this point, Guinevere was already debating going, and decided to make an appearance (this is where everyone gasps; as of late, she had been a creature of solitude).
Guinevere made her way across the common room to her dorm, and unlocked the door, pushing it open with her foot. Making her way to the mirror, she saw that she looked quite disheveled and resolved to put on a new outfit to go to the party, as it would be quite uncouth to show up in the school robes. The only changes to her attire consisted of a clean looking forest green sweater over her usual white blouse, and kicking off her walking shoes, she put on a pair of black heels. Despite going just to get food, she preferred looking as much not alike a scavenger as she could. She took a paper bag from her trunk and put it in her bag. This would be for collecting dinner, and maybe if she was lucky, her midnight snack as well.
Her heels clacked on her way to the main hall. Seeing nothing too abnormal there, she supposed all the festivities were solely outdoors. Thankfully, the shoes weren’t too tall, and could be safely walked around in.
The grounds were already packed when she arrived. There were so many students that at once, she feared that all the better foods were already finished. Thankfully, as she stepped closer to the cluster of tables, she could see that the refreshments were as complete as ever, likely due to a charm of some sort. Quaint little teacups and teapots sat scattered across the tables, but Guin walked past them, since the caffeine at this time of evening would make her unable to sleep. Anyways, the assortment of foods before her interested her much more than the tea.
She picked up a decorated plate, taking a pastry from one tray and a cookie from the next. She continued until her plate was piled two layers high, ignoring the looks, either real or imagined, from the others present. Taking it, she found a quieter, secluded-ish area where she sat down, though not planning to stay for long. She sampled some desserts, taking small nibbles so that she had plenty to save. She noticed that some students were decorating their own cookies, which only seemed fun to her in theory, or perhaps if she had company. Either way, it had been a nice evening. She collected her things and went on with her way back to the castle.

| CV | Frosting still unused in hand, Camille sighed, tilting his head towards the blonde who was quickly engrossed with her own cookies and blue frosting. The two of them seemed to have different ideas of what a date was supposed to be; in Camille’s mind—granted, he had never been on a date before—decorating cookies was not the problem per se, but the fact that they were seated among other students when he’d expected privacy. Her words and grin said one thing, that this was in fact a date, while her actions were contradictory. It was still considerate of her to ask him at all, he supposed. Or more accurate: drag him out on false pretences before he could reject the idea. If given the chance to move tables, Camille would have eagerly changed seats, if someone hadn’t wrapped their arms around his date just then. Likely as inconvenient as the sudden intrusion was to both Elena and him, judging by her tense body, his gaze traced the arms up to the girl they belonged to, bewilderment crossing his face. A flamboyant, over-excited sort had joined them, one Camille did not recognize and he would have requested to leave, if Elena hadn’t lit up in a familiar smile and greeted her as a friend. The redhead bore gifts in the shape of a heart covered in navy frosting with white stars and a stick figure in the middle. The French boy gave the design a subtle, unimpressed side-glance. Sweet, he supposed, but not the most ambitious of projects. Given their relationship, he kept his mouth shut, nor was he addressed, but mentally reminded himself that this was the reason he disliked the concept. The girl turned her attention to him, for a moment startling him, wondering if he was caught passing judgement. It would not have been the first time, though he rather not cause an awkward scene on their presumed date. Another cookie in the same color was extended to him. Eyebrows raised, Camille reluctantly accepted it, gaze lowering to evaluate the design. He had obviously not expected masterpieces, yet the drawing that supposedly resembled him was bordering on insulting; not only a far cry from his visuals, but seemingly an elaborate attempt at mockery. His eyes narrowed at the cookie. The hair was messy, though he could give her grace considering the difficult medium they had to work with. What really grated on him was the cross-eyed expression on the stick figure's face. Not to mention the tongue sticking out, an infantilized expression that he’d never practised, and would never cross his face at this age. Glancing at Elena's own cookie, normal-eyed, the difference was unmistakable. Was this stranger trying to infuriate him, and for what reason? Skeptical, Camille glanced at the redhead. There seemed to be no thoughts behind those eyes and affectionate expression, yet he would not allow himself to be fooled just because she seemed innocent. He was not grateful for the cookie, but the only polite thing was to say thank you. Reluctantly he gave her a strained smile as he put the heart and the awful depiction down on the table next to him. “... Thank you. How thoughtful of you… Nova?” He’d snapped up the name from Elena, a name he’d now add to the never-ending list of people to avoid. “A friend of Elena, I presume.” Camille glanced at Elena with an expectant look on his face, hoping she’d tell her “friend” to leave them alone. Alone with his thoughts, he felt a sudden surge of inspiration to decorate a few, unflattering cookies of his own. |
