Maria walked into the ice cream shop. It was late at night and she knew that she wasn’t supposed to be there. But she had promised her friend and roommate Flame that they would sneak out and go get some ice cream. Maria had left before Flame so that she could be there early to fix her hair and lipgloss in the bathroom if needed beforehand. Maria walked into the dingy smelly bathroom and she walked towards the mirror. As she walked her heels clicked click click. She had reached the mirror and reached for her mini backpack that contained all of her needed personal items. She rummaged through the bag ”Eh, tío” she said under her breath. She has just remembered that she left her brush in her dorm room. But at least she had her lipgloss. She puckered her lips and put on four layers of lipgloss evenly without one mistake. Now she was ready to go even if her hair wasn’t perfect. She ran out of the dingy smelly bathroom into the area with the seats and found a booth that was just in the perfect spot. She sat down in the booth. Back at home she would have her phone and would be scrolling until the person she was waiting for showed up. But this time she had time to think What if she ditches me and never shows up. Oh man that would be terrible.. Then she looked up the door opened.

Flame walked into the shop to find Maria sitting there. “Hey!” She said greeting her. “Sorry if I’m late I kinda thought you were going to ditch me.” Flame was starving! She had eaten dinner a couple of hours ago. “Have you already ordered?” She asked. “If not let’s go order if yes then I’m just going to order quickly then I’ll be back.” Flame walked up to the ice cream counter. “Hi,” she said cheerfully charming the server so that they wouldn’t notice that they were hogwarts students and it worked!
“I will have a triple scoop cone with chocolate in the bottom, chocolate mousse in the middle and chocolate peanut butter on the top please!” Once she had gotten her ice cream she walked back over to Maria and sat down. “So how are you?” when Maria gave her a questioning glance at her Ice cream she explained. “I am a chocolate girl! I absouloutly adore it and this is a classic combo that me and my Mom used to get all the time! It reminds me of home.” Flame looked out the window and the looked back at Maria waiting for her to respond. She knew that Maria would deal with this in her own way.

Maria warmly smiled. She stood up and walked towards the mirror the counter and saw that the worker was a cute boy. She put on her flirty face and walked towards the counter. She charmed him with her flirtation.”May I have cookies and cream ice cream with vanilla too and sprinkles.. She grabbed her ice cream and their hands touched. She winked at the guy and then proceeded to sashay to her seat. She sat down and told Flame what just happened and how magical it was. She felt like she was in love but the problem was he was older and thought that she was just a town person. “Flame this could be my future husband and the love of my life!” she exclaimed excitedly. Her mind started racing with thoughts of them together forever. Then it hit her ; this was her first crush ever like ever. She noticed how her stomach churned which felt like little butterflies fluttering in her stomach. She looked at Flame and asked her “Does my hair look okay I left my brush in the room? OMG do you think he noticed how bad my hair looks”. She wanted to walk up to him and ask for his number like her brothers would do back home but she didn’t have access to any digital devices at Hogwarts. She stared at Flame a little sad and disappointed.

“Flame this could be my future husband and the love of my life!” Maria told Flame excitedly after telling her about her exchange with the server boy. “Does my hair look okay I left my brush in the room? OMG do you think he noticed how bad my hair looks” she asked Flame as she started to mess with it. Flame smiled at Maria it was probably her first crush judging by the way she was acting.
Flame smiled at Maria. “What none of the boys at Hogwarts are good enough for you?” she laughed jokingly. “Kidding! But I’m actually supeiswd you aren’t crushing on anybody from school.” Flame told Maria laughing. Then she remembered that Maria had asked her a question about her hair. “Your hair looks amazing as always!” she said confidently.
Flame had had crushes and boyfriends in the past so she was kinda used to stuff like this. “I’ve had crushes and boyfriends before.” she told Maria encouragingly “Just go talk to him. Ask him what he likes and make some connections. As for the part about him being older just act super mature and no one will give you a second glance.” Flame told Maria knowing that Maria would probably listen to her because they were friends.

Maria took Flame’s advice and internalized it. She stood up and sashayed to the counter. ”Hi my name is Maria and I think that you are really cute”. She bit her lip and stared at the guy wait for a bit. Then she realized what she did and quickly sashayed to her seat. She plopped down on her seat in front of Flame. She covered her face with shame and embarrassment. “He will never want to date me why would I say that; I’m so ready to leave and go back to the dorm.”. She then realized that she was there to hang out with Flame and not flirt with some boy. She apologized to Flame over and over again for about 5 minutes straight. Then she looked back and saw the cute worker writing something down on a paper. Maria fantasized that it would be his number and that they would fall mad in love and get married and have kids. Then she remembered that he was on the job and was probably just writing something down for his work. “Do you think he likes me?” she asked Flame hurriedly. She wanted one answer only but she also kinda wanted the truth also. She looked back again and saw the cute worker walking towards their table.

Flame smiled as she watched Maria apologize over and over because they were supposed to be hanging out but she was busy with the boy. Flame looked over Maria’s shoulder and watched as the guy started writing something down. “It is fine!” she told Maria laughing. “I know what it is like to have a crush on a boy!” Flame watched as the worker started walking towards their table. “As for if he likes you I think our answer is walking towards our table!” Flame told Maria smirking.
She watched as the guy introduced himself and because Maria was speechless Flame introduced herself and her friend. “Hi!” she told the worker smiling brightly. “My name is Flame! Flame Afterglow.” she smiled again turning up the charm level for Maria. “This here beside me is my good friend Maria Jones.”. Flame elbowed Maria hoping that she could talk soon because Flame was NOT going to do all the talking for her. “Could you please get me another scoop of chocolate?”
As soon as the worker left Flame turned to Maria. “When he comes back you better start talking.” she warned her. The server came back and Flame smiled at him and thanked him for getting her another scoop. “Now what did you come over here to talk to us about?” she asked him.
