"エミ！もし外出するなら、誰にも杖を見られないようにすると約束して！"
"Emi! If you go out, promise me that you will not let anyone see your wand!" Emi's mother told her.

"Ugh... You don't have to nag... It's so annoying... Emi muttered under her breath, careful not to let her mother hear her. All Emi wanted to do was just take out her wand, do some magic and stuff like that. But only her mother was nagging her about not letting muggles see her doing magic, don't let them see your wand, stuff like that, blah blah blah.

Emi was on a holiday to a small town in Britain. She took the house keys and opened the door. Instantly she could feel the cold air. The air was sharp and cold, nipping at her cheeks and making her arms prickle with goosebumps. She shivered a little, before wrapping her scarf around her more tightly. Brr... The air in Britain feels colder than in Japan... Egh...

Emi took out her wand, admiring the intricate designs on her wand. She sillily waved it a bit. Nothing happened. She kind of expected something to happen. Kind of.

Suddenly, she could see an outline of a person. Oh no! She quickly stuffed her wand inside her pocket, feeling it on her leg. Oh no! What if she saw my wand?! I would get into big trouble! Nooo... I'm dead if mum finds out!

Emi decided it was best to introuduce herself. After all, her was taught good manners. As the girl (and Emi) approached slowly, she could see the girl clearer. She looked to be around her height. She also looked to be around Emi's height.

"Um… hello. I am Emi~ And you are?"

She held up her hand, offering a handshake.

Then she waited for the girl's response.

Oh no! What if she thinks I'm weird? I mean, I did say hi to a complete random stranger...

But, Emi still waited.

Outfit: Pale pink fuzzy sweater with big pocket, tan fuzzy skirt, Rilakkuma ( Sanrio Character ) stuffed animal on top front corner of skirt, and black glasses.

Kylie looked around, surprised when she spotted a girl holding a wand. Kylie secretly had one too, hidden in her pocket. Kylie turned her glance forward again, towards a bush, instead of the witch that looked Asian.
Many people carry sticks, maybe they carved it to look pretty?
Kylie thought that would be a huge coincidence. Kylie saw that the girl was passing her, but the girl stopped, looked at Kylie and said
"Um… hello. I am Emi~ And you are?".
The girl- Emi held out her hand with a kind, confident smile on her face but her eyes betrayed the confidence that shone in her smile, her eyes were looking nervous.
Kylie was confused, and she looked up the sidewalk at her muggle parents, who were picking flowers ahead of the trail.
Why, why, was Emi talking to her? She wasn't special, she was just a random girl. But I'm not gonna leave her hand out. There's no harm! Kylie thought,Alright, one simple little sentence, with absolute kindness.
"I'm uh, Kylie, Kylie Nguyen." She spoke, with a quiet, polite, voice. Kylie took half a second to think as she shook Emi's hand, thinking hard.
I have to say something else! How old are you? Sure, but if she walks away I will never forgive you, brain.
"How old are you? I'm 12 years old." She took her other hand out of her pocket nervous, but hoping she wasn't showing it.

Emi was relived when the girl replied with a quiet voice,
"I'm uh, Kylie, Kylie Nguyen."
The girl—Kylie—then shook her hand.
Whew, at least she replied! I thought it was awkward when I suddenly went to talk to her! Oh no... what if she thought it was rude to ignore me!
After a few moments of silence, Kylie said,
"How old are you? I'm 12 years old."
Emi opened her mouth, unsure of what to say for a while. After a few seconds, Emi responded,
"O-Oh! I've only just turned 12 about... a while ago ago. So... you're a few months older than me... I guess?"
Emi noticed a bulge in Kylie's pocket. She saw that Kylie was fidgeting with something in her pocket. She could tell it was something long and straight.
Is that... a wand? Is this Kylie... a witch?! Ooh, if she is, maybe we can be friends! But what should I say... so that I can be sure that she is a witch, like me? What would happen if I ask her if she is a witch? What if she was a muggle? Then mum would kill me!
Hmm... I think I am going to ask her if she has a book called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! If she was a muggle, she would think that I am talking about an... what did mum call it again? Oh yeah! An encyclopedia!
Emi looked at Kylie, seeing her look back at her with a curious expression on her face.
After a few moments, Emi said,
"Um... y-you don't happen to have a book called F-Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, right?"
I hope she says yes... If not... she might ask what that is! Ho-What am I going to say then? That it is a book about magical creatures that muggles like you didn’t think existed? No way. Then what should I say?

"O-Oh! I've only just turned 12 about... a while ago ago. So... you're a few months older than me... I guess?" Emi said. After a few silent moments Emi added, "Um... y-you don't happen to have a book called F-Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, right?"
Kylie was still a bit surprised, even though she saw Emi's wand before. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a book from the Wizarding World! It was by Newt Scamander and Kylie couldn't wait to read it!
"Yeah, by N-Newt Sc-Scamander right?" Kylie asked nervously, because Emi could possibly be talking about a muggle book right?
No way, Kylie thought I can't fake it anymore! Emi's a witch like me! We could be friends!
"Emi, do you know 'Magic Tricks'?" Kylie asked quietly hoping she wasn't risking sharing, because if Emi was a muggle she would think of simple muggle card tricks that everyone in the muggle world tried to do.
And on that Kylie thought, wait, is Emi a muggle-born? Maybe we can go to school together if she goes to Hogwarts, I mean, if she doesn't then we can maybe text each other through the Muggle phones? We can just be friends if not. This is amazing! If Emi's a muggle than we can also be friends! You can always have more friends, right?
"I mean! I'm 11. Sorry." Kylie said nervously "I forgot it for a second."
