"Perhaps try celebrating with a cake next time. The house elves are accommodating if you're polite." But then the culprit apologized again, and when he saw those tears welling up, the Ravenclaw was struck with a pang of sympathy. "It'll be alright, Piérre," Pericles pressed gently, "really it will." His voice remained a hushed whisper, rising only enough to express an empathetic tune, trying to keep the conversation between himself and the next bunk over. "This will pass. It was one silly thing, which I know you won't do again, and I believe you when you say you didn't mean any harm." As much as he wished to maintain some semblance of peace in the recovery room, Peri- who was especially attached to that cat- would have understood Xailah's desire for vengeance. It was hard to turn one's eye when a loved one was harmed. He called out to that distinctive voice (and recognizable Woaw), perked and peered at the curtain come the confirmation, but blinked back an expression of surprise for what followed. Peri's perception was better suited for puzzles and mysteries. The inner-workings of his peers often eluded him, though that wasn't to say he was a little machine. A flicker of worry wove through his thoughts. Why would the lioness hide from him...? The same soft tune carried through the curtain as the fledgling eagle assured, "Well... if it were them, I would hope they're alright." He tried to discard his confusion, to stay focused on what was unfolding.
August explained the cause for the Gryffindor's candy-craze, something Pericles cataloged for later, now eyeing that candy with an amalgamation of wonder and wariness. But somehow, the nurse had been set off, and the outburst caused the lad to look away. He had an aversion to certain brands of conflict, one which encompassed adults arguing. It was such a foreign spectacle. His parents never fought, so seeing school staff argue with a government official wasn't much easier to tolerate. However, while Peri's stare averted awkwardly down to the ground, his ears remained open. The boy's eyes dulled in a way which may imply he was tuning out, but what was really going on behind that freckled face was anyone's guess. The sweet skittered into sight.
Pericles fished his spectacles from a coat pocket, but after a particularly turbulent bout of coughing, the things slipped from his hand and clattered to the floor. He wasn't about to interrupt the quarreling brothers for help, so he summoned his strength and swung his legs over the edge of the bed, shakily sinking to the floor. His thumb swept over a crack in the lens. Though the boy tutted in disappointment, he supposed it would be the perfect excuse to practice the mending spell. He crammed the spectacles and the misplaced candy back into his robes. That ought to have been the end of it. He could leave: say he wanted the sentimental comforts of his own dorm, that he was well enough to make the trip, that the arguing had frightened his "delicate sensibilities" and caused him to "anxiously skitter out". While Finnlay wouldn't oblige the renown auror, he had access to a truly skilled potioneer right here on school grounds.
It was a quick clean strategy. But the boy wasn't an auror himself, he was a boy, and he couldn't shake lingering wonders and worries. A last uneasy frown in Supposedly Not Xailah's direction convinced him to stay. The clashing brothers were suspects on his Liberation list, and he wasn't about to leave someone he considered a friend alone with them. Just before he could climb back into bed, Piérre was leaving his. He saw the wand, had nearly thought to take cover in case sparks flew, saw it sail through the air.... Peri's pale hand darted out, trying to catch the boy as he went by. He didn't utter a sound, but his stare was uncharacteristically, unflinchingly stern. Had he known the other student would have gone so far as to fight, he would have tried harder to stop him, but with any luck a grab and look would work.
Summary
Trying to comfort and quiet Piérre, worrying about Xailah and Schrödinger, surveying the VanCleafs, dropping his glasses and getting out of bed to retrieve them and the candy, trying to stop Piérre from crossing the infirmary during the argument, and returning to bed.

Pericles concern for the little metamorph- be it genuine or not, was enough to draw a confused expression to her face. The whole situation- the sick cat, the two crazy students, the bickering, it was all very overwhelming for the child. And at this point all she wanted to do was let some of those bottled emotions out. The lioness let out a tired little groan, which was followed by an distracted, inaudible thanks- it was no louder than a whisper. She watched with a glossy-eyed glare, as one of the scrawny Gryffindor boys that had been brought in, tried to pull his delusional friend out of the room while the arguing commenced.
This was a first. Never in her thirteen years of existing, had Xailah actually witnessed two grown adults engage in such a heated verbal dispute. It was an odd thing for a child to never see, but somehow she seemed to avoid the verbal fights between "grown ups". Her parents never fought- not in front of her anyways- and even if they did, the disputes were usually very non-aggressive; so this was a rather scary thing to witness, to say the least. She couldn't help but flinch when she saw the little laced candy go flying over, to Pericles side of the room. This was very different from how children fought, here the rising tension could be felt, here one knew that deep down somebody was going to get hurt. You just didn't know who though.
The prefect would finally realize why she did not like the nurse. Why she did not feel safe around him. He was crazy- disturbingly so. And crazy, was something that she was all too familiar with. This man payed no heed to the fact that he was in a room full of children- children the he was supposed to be caring for. He did not care. That made him dangerous. There was one thing he evidently did care about though, and that was attention. The need to be noticed. He was getting noticed alright, because as soon as that wand left his open hand, the Gryffindors eyes were locked onto him.
Xailah was on the ground before that polished splinter of wood, even hit the stone. She was a creature of impulse, and she liked to take things. If she saw something that she wanted, she was going to take it. The relevance of the wand hardly mattered to her, but she understood that she needed to get it before the Auror did. She understood that she did not want him to have it. Schrödinger would be left on the cot by himself, as his mistress proceeded to scuttle across the dirtied tile on all fours, her primitive mind taking the reigns in that moment. It was right there. It was too perfect.
She would come to a halt, but only for a mere second, as she caught some movement out of the corner of her eye. Piérre. God, it seemed like this kid was literally everywhere. She couldn't get a break. Why, was he coming across the room in the middle of an argument, that looked as if it was about to get violent? It would appear that whoever was in the cot next to him- Pericles, presumably, was thinking the same thing. She would watch a small, pale hand dart out to grab her fellow Gryffindor. Her own dainty, gloved hand rested on the wand, ready to pluck it from the ground. Whoever was to confront her first- if anyone was to confront her, would be met with a low, hostile growl. A warning. She wasn't going to make it easy for anyone to take that wand. There were a lot of ways this could go badly. Someone was going to get hurt.

He had screamed, he had shouted, he had called out for his true love, and then it went black. Much like the last time he was assaulted in his candy kingdom, the world went dark. His sweets-filled existence was over. There was nothing to look at, or smell, just the dark, sugarless void. The perfect day, one you wait your life for, all ruined by them. Those and them, they took his true love and replaced it with murderous gingerbread people, just like last time. A shame. Being king was fun.
The dark slowly began tho shake, and slither. Like a slug leaving a corn syrup trail, Galton the Glorious's head slowly drifted forward. Until his eyes opened to realty. It was bright, and loud. But, it ambrosial. He could just smell the sugar pouring out of every crevice and corner in the room.He was back to room filled with delicious smelling gingerbread. This wouldn't end like the last time, he had someone waiting for him.
He watched the figures in their blurry state, a large one yelling at another large one. It even went so far as to throw things. They looked good. And Galton was growing oh so hungry. Hunger would soon fill his mind if he wasn't careful, and push the thoughts of his sweet prince out. He shook awake, trying to free himself from whoever bound him. The voice sounded familiar, like one of his courtiers, or advisers, but he wasn't sure. "Please! Rid your hands!" He shouted as he stood.
Standing, the world was a new kind of chaos. The sweet, sweet, little ginger children scurried and fumbled, where to? Were they playing a game, or were they hunting for the delicious treats thrown by their larger look-alike? It made no matter. They had a pungent, biting sweetness that Galton's nose would be hard-pressed to ignore. He would find them, and he would has fill.
A step forward towards the epicenter and his nose bit on something even sweater, with a wiggle and a waggle. There were buckets of corn syrup, or maple syrup, or maybe it was sugar water, might have even been all of them mixed together, everywhere. Prime basting for his soon to be snacks.
His mouth watered, his tongue crept out of his mouth, a eye twitch as he licked his lips in anticipation. He would pick one of the full buckets up and arc its content up, letting the sweet (totally not acidic) liquid rain down on those headed for the wand (Xailah's bed area roughly). Let the second feast begin.

Thank you for trying to save me.
Yeah buddy, let's get out of here.
That is what Jürgen expected but that was not what he got. Like a distraction. Like a peasant in the presence of a lord, Galton ordered Jürgen to remove his hands. Had Jürgen been the aggressive type, he would have re-rendered Galton unconscious so that he could be taken away quietly. Alas, Jürgen was a foolish boy and he was unprepared for Galton's reaction.
He was not chewing on nonsense this time as he rushed a pair of Gryffindors. He did not expect Galton to do what he did next...
"Gross Galton!" Jürgen cried, capable of alliteration apparently as he saw the mad 'king' lift the emesis basin and attempt to rain down the vile contents onto Xailah and Pierre. Jürgen held his hands over his face, partially covering his eyes in horror. It was one of those scenes, like a NASCAR crash where you tried to cover your eyes, avert your gaze but you could not pull your eyes from the carnage. There was no stopping him, Jürgen was near the door standing there slack-jawed and useless.
Partially blinded, Xailah suffered more than Pierre [-3 to grab attempt from crit] she would attempt to possess what was presumed to be Potter's rod of power. This chaos, the mad dash, the vile fluid that sloshed over them. It was enough to draw the attention of the bickering brothers. They would both view the pitiful scene - Galton the glutinous Gryffindor and the disgusting duo.

His eyes widened as his brother brandished his wand. No, it was not an impromptu duel fueled by passion, he flung the wand away. "Are you insane!" He hissed. He would level his wand at the nurse. With a glower he would mutter, "you should not have done that Finny-boy." There was no sorrow, just a stern gaze. The children in this hospital room would be witnesses to more than a brotherly spat it would seem. A wand that might be significant on the floor. "Come with me quietly and..." the rest of the threat would remain unspoken but it was likely along the lines of nobody/you will get hurt.

@Solomon Lear, @Xailah Alptraum, @Galton Lansdale, & @Pericles Dralt
Piérre had certainly expected for there to be chaos, especially since the wand had been thrown in a different direction than his own cot; specifically that of Xailah's. If the little Britalian knew anything about the girl from their previous experience in the Caretaker's Office, he should have known that she was rather a klepto and eager to take anything that was of some sort of value like the boy himself. However, his eagerness had trumped caution, and so he went flying just as Xailah had begun to dive for the length of wood.
Peri had grabbed his wrist, but Piérre, having watched more than a few documentaries about self defense, twisted his wrist towards the boy's thumb, which would in turn twist the Ravenclaw's wrist and force him to let go of the jumping Italian. As he parted from his bedmate, Piérre turned his gaze almost mournfully towards the Ravenclaw before smiling cheekily. It was a look as if to say. 'I'm sorry, but I have to do this.'
As Piérre went skittering across the ground, he saw Xailah crouch on all fours, her back arched like her pet cat's had the potential to do, growling with a low voice deep in her throat. Piérre very nearly froze, but a different, a more... feral part of him made him drop and hit the ground as well, his back arching, his pointed ears flattening in a primal instinct to protect tender flesh, and his head tipping as his eyes lit with green fire. Even Piérre had no idea what was happening. All he knew, and all his eyes were fixed on, were the golden, slit eyes of the catwoman in front of him, and the length of wood that she was protecting with her whole, menacing form.
He WANTED that wand.
Piérre may have been smaller, lighter, and perhaps even less constitutional that the older girl, but he was light and fast. He doubted that she would be able to touch him if he kept dodging her, cornering her until he could get what he wanted. He was infinitely more determined, and he was fierce enough to not stand down, even if it could kill him. He saw two ways in. Either he could pounce directly at her, or he could feint, and try to get around and attack an exposed side. Both were viable, and both could get him hurt, but what were a few bruises when compared to the prize?
Muscles bunching, prepared for a pounce, green eyes widening as a spark of something erupted in the center of his pin-sized black pupil...
"Please! Rid your hands!"
Piérre hardly heard Galton, but he did spot out of the corner of his eye the boy lifting up a chamber-pot and beginning to retract it over his head, ready to throw it...
Pupils regained their size as Piérre gasped in shock of what was happening. Why in the world was he on all fours fighting for a wand? What in the world going on?!
"Waitwaitwait!" Piérre waved his hands before him, spinning to the crisis, but it was too late, the pot was spinning in the air, the bile, stomach acid, and whatever foul concoction was within flying through the air...
To land directly on Xailah's back.
Immediately the world became a haze of green, for not only did the pot land on her back, but the backspin of the pot also managed to hit Piérre head on as well, and with his mouth open in a cry of shock, well...
It wasn't a pretty picture. He had been far too distracted with the Prefect than he had been in noticing his surroundings. In fact, Piérre didn't think he had been in his surroundings at all. He had been in a dark room, his sights narrowed only on the girl. She had been his only point of focus. Why in the world would that have been?
The acid stung his eyes, but with a firm, small hand, he managed to wipe away most of the green yuck. The stuff that had gotten in his clothes he could clean with a little help from upperclassmen, and truth be told, he was due for a shower already. This would just be a bit of shame, that's all. Yeah, just a little shameful.
So engrossed in the gross, Piérre had hardly noticed that Xailah was already far ahead of him, snatching the wand firmly. Piérre had made a weak swipe towards it, but he had miserably missed, even with the misfortune that the older classmate had endured. Well, it wasn't like it mattered all that much now. Xailah had snatched that wand fair and square, and far be it from Piérre to try and wrench it back. Maybe a talk was in order, to explain the meaning and the whole importance of the wand itself.
And then there were the brothers again. The auror had taken the outraged nurse and was calling him a fool, chiding him and giving him a look as if to cause the man to burst into immediate flame. Piérre looked between the two of them, becoming more and more confused. Was someone about to get even more hurt?
"PLEASE STOP!" Finally, some words parted his lips, his throat tight and filled with tears, which were also beginning to sparkle in his large green eyes. Why was this world so hateful? What in the world was wrong with everyone and everything? "Why are you doing this?!" The boy, miserably covered in slime and gross was almost pitifully shaking, his hands making circles in the mess. His words were directed towards the two twins fighting with one another. As much as Piérre wanted to get closer to the two fighting men, he saw the half-crazed Galton still in the way, and Piérre had the distinct feeling that things would not go well if he attempted to approach.
Finally, a thought hit Piérre. It hit him hard and it hit him fast. "Nobody move." It was the first time anyone who knew the kid up to this point purposefully cause his voice to drop into an assertive tenor, unlike his usual male alto. Legs shaking, the boy brought himself to his feet, pointing at the twins. "I want to know exactly what's going on. I think we more than deserve answers." Piérre indicated to himself, Xailah, and Peri. "Nobody leaves until we know what's going on."
Of course Piérre knew that he was NO MATCH for two adult wizards and probably a candy-crazed boy. In fact, the first year had EVERYTHING to lose. But hopefully the auror was at least respectable enough to explain why he was taking their nurse aside, and why they were being so venomous to one another. Inside, Piérre was also hoping that at least Peri would back him up, whether in spellcasting or in some sort of verbal agreement, and if Xailah was in with him as well, that was a bonus. Piérre had never seen her in action, but if he knew anything about the girl's nature from what he knew, she was dedicated. Nothing would escape her gaze or her ambition.
She was almost like him in a way.
"Here," Piérre smiled at Xailah, holding out a hand to help her up. If she wanted to take it was up to her, but whatever she did, she would see a stark contrast from the boy who was about to pounce on her from all fours and the something near gentleman who was offering a hand to get her to her feet and clear off the muck.
Then, keeping an eye on Galton, Piérre tentatively took a step towards the brothers, ready to dodge if things went south. He wanted answers.
And a vow by Piérre was a vow that was kept.
There were no exceptions.

Piérre's glance back was met with a pinched forehead, pressed lips, and discouraging shake of Peri's head. But it was to no avail. Many things were set into motion all at once: Xailah making a move for the holly wand, Piérre crossing the tense room, Galton scrambling by like some kind of creature and- most mortifying of all- the auror August pulling a wand on the nurse. The latter held his attention, at least until the candy-cursed Galton was dousing the lad's peers in substance most foul. Peri cast a last desperate look towards the door. His head was humming with possibilities, with options and obstacles, and it was imperative that he make his choice in the next several seconds. He worried about unintentionally provoking the apparently insane brothers by making for the door, but from what August had said, Galton- under the influence- was also a threat. He hardly doubted that the boy would be satisfied with simply making a mess. Peri's own wand was out, pale fingers curled tight around aspen.
He could grab his bag from the nightstand and make a break for the door.
He could hope the current students combined might be enough to fend off an Auror (though a quick calculation made him suppose that their chances were very, very poor).
Lapsing again into empathy and sentiment, he settled for the third route: trying to haul Xailah out of this sticky situation with him. Tentatively, keeping arms at his sides to seem like less of a threat, he had inched away from his bed. The Ravenclaw reluctantly looked away from the brothers and on towards Galton. As much as he too desired an explanation from Finn, he highly doubted August was interested in negotiations or villainesque monologues about the dastardly schemes set aside for the nurse. He kept to the sideline, making no move to run or attack, attention flickering frantically between the VanCleafs and Landsdale. If the boy made a move to further attack Xailah or the impassioned Piérre, he would make a decisive attempt to intercept it.
If Galton attempts to attack Xailah or Piérre, casting Flipendo at him.

The gloves stay on. Always. Well, not always. They were removed when necessary- she wasn't that crazy. But the fabric of the gloves provided some grip on the now slick floor. She never saw the wave of literal 'acid rain'- if you will, fly through the air. Everything just happened a little too fast. She was watching that bothersome Gryffindor lad, when it happened. She was watching to make sure he didn't move- didn't try to grab the wand; making sure that he didn't get that chance. The two were just mere animals, fighting after a polished twig. Thats how it looked anyways.
Her lips curled back to reveal inhuman teeth. Her rib cage, shifted, and flexed beneath pale, taut skin. She was trying puff herself out. She was trying to make herself look bigger. That was something that animals did, not sane human beings. Her predatory gaze was unwavering, as she gave her fellow Gryffindor a final warning. A snarl this time. Not a growl. But it wasn't enough. It wasn't enough to stop the events that took place next. There was a sudden shift in the Gryffindor boy- like the mother ship had called him back home. His pupils, the size of pinpricks returned to something more human- something more civil.
Hers, however, did not. Her little daggers shrank, revealing more of the molten gold, that encased them. The boy turned to plead, she grabbed for the wand. Her dainty fingers wrapped around the wood, just as soon as she felt something cold hit her back. Good King Galton had blessed her with a gift most foul. A gift that did not make her happy. And upon remembering who else was in the room, she couldn't help but feel humiliated. And angry. The foul liquid splashed on the floor, making droplets leap up, and splatter across her pale face. Some got in her mouth, while most of it got past her black frames, and found its way into her eyes.
She had pair of very sensitive peepers, so it was a wonder how she even managed to grab that wand in the first place; but as soon as she did, it went where no sensible person would dare venture. Down her shirt. She blinked furiously trying to get the foul sludge out of her eyes, slipping and backing herself into a space between her bed, and her nightstand as she did so. Her dark locks squirmed as if they too, were in pain. The prefects porcelain skin, began to crawl, her bones popped and shifted. Two, small, horn-like things, pushed through the tender skin on top of her head.
Metamorphmagus, had always been known to be very emotional creatures. That much was evident now. The bloody, bone-like structures cracked, and split themselves down the middle to form a pair of tiny antlers. She let out a slew of several colorful phrases, as she smacked Piérres hand away. She didn't want his help. Nor did she need it. What she wanted, was to get out of here. She felt trapped. But Piérre wasn't going to let her out. Not her, not Schrödinger, not Pericles, and certainly not the brothers. He was playing a dangerous game. He, and everyone else in the room were obstacles, that put a block between herself and freedom.
Someone was going to get hurt. Maybe she would be that person. She was willing to make that sacrifice, if it meant she could leave with her cat. She rose from the puddle of spittle, and bile, on the floor. She swayed, looking as if she were a foal that had just come out of the womb. The lioness stood a bit taller than usual, maybe by an inch or two, but the added weight of the tiny antlers made her slouch forward slightly. The metamorph looked like less of a nightmare, and more like something that had crawled straight out of the bayou- or some distant relative of the Jersey Devil. She didn't care about answers, or explanations. She wanted out.
She used the time she took to stand up; to quickly assess the situation. It would have been a straight shot to the door if Galton and that other dark-haired twerp wasn't in the way. She grimaced, shooting a glare at the calmer of the two twins. August was a problem- they were both problems, but August was hiding something. Finlay however, presumably had nothing to hide anymore. As soon as Piérre turned his back on the metamorph, she made her choice. Her own wand, would find its way into her slimy grasp, quickly.
Physically and mentally, she was no match for an adult wizard, but if attacking him meant that she could leave; then that was a chance that she would take- she was crazy enough to try anyways. She took one good blink, in an attempt to reduce the lingering sting in her eyes; before pointing the length of Chestnut wood at the Auror. "Serpensortia!" The Snake Summons spell. She couldn't care less, if the spell hit the man or not. It was mostly a distraction anyways.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

"Gross Galton!" A familiar voice called out to the child king as his sugary bile hit it's mark, drenching two delectable looking ginger-kids. It was odd. A clear insult to someone of Galton's prestige, but there was a twinging in his head that made him think he knew the voice. The ginger person it came from being seemingly helpful through this whole ordeal, even if it wasn't too helpful. He wanted to find the voice and try to pinpoint the familiarity, but there was too much chaos.
The front runner seemed to have climbed back up, and was making demands. To Galton. The King of this whole castle. And, on his wedding day. What a fine treat that was. One that would need to be savoured. But Galton would answer the fools questions. If he had forgotten where he was, and what day it was Galton would remind him. A copious amount of sugary rage coursed through his mind as words shot forward. He screamed them, as if the words had been trapped insde, only held back by his pearly whites. "'LL CROWN MY BELOVED TODAY AND I WILL LICK WHATEVER I NEED TO DO SO!" That would show the fool.
King Galton's eyes were fixed on the defiant little ginger, but the other sugar basted candy-lass drew much more attention. This wasn't a normal ginger-person, this one was special. It had two, pure, glorious lollipops coming out of its head. It was beautiful. They gleamed with a spiral of purple, black and white running down. He could smell them. Soaked in sugar water, the purple rods where too good to ignore.
Nothing else mattered. The candy wand it had, the candy wands others had, the rude boy, nothing mattered but those lollipops. Those would give him the power to take his kingdom and groom back.

Galton would attempt to lick the ginger-thing's (Xailah's) right head lollipop (antler)

Chaos was erupting in the hospital wing as the identical twins appeared to be starting a fight while the delusional boy was running around trying to lick something from another student. As the two men brandished their wands every part of her wanted to help but she was only a first-year and her knowledge of spells was still extremely limited but still she had never backed down and she wouldn't today.
Slowing standing up next to her bed, Atlas reached down in her boot and pulled out her wand gripping it in her palm as she took a deep breath. She hadn't done all that much since she had been encumbered by the results of the prank but her stomach was feeling okay for the time being and she wasn't about to let this Auror come in here like he owned the place, even if her father heard word of it from the other Aurors.
Staring at August, she decided to go with the spell she knew best as she drew a fire symbol in the air, aiming at his pant leg as she recited, "Incendio." Attacking an Auror was nothing she had ever expected to do at Hogwarts but this man seemed dangerous or unhinged and she needed to stand up and be strong.
