Dear Lark,
I was so glad to receive your letter. I miss you too!! It's so weird not being at school, even if it's only for a bit. At least I hope it's only for a little bit. My mum might not let me go back. My parents, I heard them arguing at night about it. Mum thinks it's too dangerous after the Ball. That's why she got me Darby (who will be arriving with this note!) as a companion, but I dunno. She still seems scared. Maybe there were no half-giants when she attended? Dad seems to be okay with it though, from what I can tell. I'll keep you posted of course.
Sounds like your mum has her own preoccupations as well. Is it weird having a baby around? I mean, they don't do much, do they? I get annoyed at Kirsty when she doesn't want to come out to Skye with me, but at least she could if she wanted to. It'll be so weird when she's at Hogwarts with us in a couple years.
I can't believe we're nearly at Christmas! We'll get a tree and Kirsty and I will make gingerbread houses to put in the windows. The muggles do much the same things so that's cool, not that there are that many of them in our little fishing village. But what I look most forward to is Dad always takes us out on the boat Christmas morning before we open gifts. The early starts are commonplace, but there's something special about Christmas. What does your family do?
You're getting a camera? I've seen muggles with those on Skye. I think the tourists use them. Dad would probably know, but we likely can't afford one in any case.
Anyway, I'll look for your owl. Miss your face.
