Flame sat down by the water and pulled her shoes and socks off. It was the middle of winter and the water was freezing, but she didn't care. Where she had grown up, the winters were freezing cold and the summers were burning hot, so the winter here at Hogwarts felt like nothing but slightly colder hoodie weather to her. She tossed over what had happened with her friend today in her mind and then shook it off. She would take a break and then after she had calmed down, she would go back inside and talk to her.
Flame looked around her surrounding's. There were groups of people wrapped in thick coats and jackets, huddling with their friends. Some of them had given Flame looks like she was crazy when she had com outside in nothing but a sweatshirt and shorts, but Flame didn't mind. She pulled her feet out of the water and cleared a small patch of leftover snow so she could put her feet there. She did a quick heat spell so that the patch was warm and put them there.
A minute later, Flame put her feet back in the water. All of a sudden, she heard someone come up behind her and sit down beside her. It was a Hufflepuff girl her age. Flame looked at her and waited for her to speak, hoping that she didn't have her annoyed face showing. The problem was that she did.
Someone told me I run like a girl. I said that if they ran faster they could to.
Cold Friends?
Isabella was ready to do something else. She hadn't finished all of her homework yet, but she needed a break. She wanted to go outside. Bella put down her quill and picked it up, along with the rest of her homework and her bag. She walked up the steps to the dorm room, being cautious so that she would not accidentally run into people.
Bella set all of her things down and looked around the room. She saw that not a single one of the three friends/acquaintances she had made were there. She had hoped they were, so she could invite them to the Great Lake with her, but it seemed that she would have to go into the biting cold alone.
Bella quickly put on a blue t - shirt, a coat that was fluffy on the inside, cargo pants, and converse shoes. "Okay! I'm ready to face the day! Let's do this!" Bella walked out of the dorm and looked around the common room. The Huffle room.
There were some people in here, and Bella had to guess the reason that most of her house was not there was because it was VERY cold outside.
Isabella skipped all the way to the front doors, where she paused to breathe in cold, fresh air. Winter was nice at Hogwarts. The winter light hit the trees nicely, and the Great Lake looked beautiful, rippling every now and then.
Bella walked around the grounds for a bit. She was about to head inside, but she saw a single person sitting by the Great Lake. Did they want company? Isabella walked over to sit by the lake, near the person, but also not too close. Isabella turned toward the person, "Hi. I'm Isabella. I noticed you were sitting over here, alone. Do you want company?"

"Hi. I'm Isabella. I noticed you were sitting over here, alone. Do you want company?" The girl Isabella. Whi had sat down beside her said. “Do whatever you want.” Flame said gruffly. She sighed. She didn’t mean for her voice to come out gruff. It just did that sometimes when she was angry or frustrated.
Flame looked at the girl sitting beside her and tried again. “Hi! My name is Flame! Sorry about my voice before or my face they do that sometimes.” There, Flame smiled contentedly. That was more friendly. Then she looked at the Isabella sitting beside her all wrapped up in a big coat and then looked down at herself in her hoodie and shorts.
“Are you cold?” Flame asked Isabella questioningly. Flame wasn’t cold so it was kinda weird when other people were. She tried to think about things she could talk to this girl about. She also decided that the girl probably thought she was weird with her feet in the water so she took them out. Fries them with a quick spell and the. Started putting her socks and shoes back on. “Do you like to read?” Flame decided to ask her. Wondering.

"Okay! It's okay, you know, sometimes our faces betray us." Isabella smiled.
"So, what are you doing out here ?" She wondered what Flame was doing out here alone. Just relaxing, or was there a reason?
In Bella's case, there was a reason. She was escaping homework. Bella brought herself back to the conversation at hand.
"I'm not cold, not with these layers!" Bella laughed out loud. A cold breeze slammed into her out of nowhere. She shivered. "Well, maybe a little."
Then she thought about Flame's other question. "I love to read! Do you? And if so, what genres do you like to read?"
Bella smiled brightly. She loved talking to people about books she had read, and hopefully, if Flame also liked to read, they would be able to talk about books they had both read!
"Do you want to go inside?" Bella asked.
