The eagles' situation seemed to be smiling upwards for now, albeit slightly. @Winnie Athanatos' cleanly placed goals through the hoops did not evade Ebony's sight this time around, and the lions seemed to be down a Keeper -- by some friendly bludgering, no less. @Aston Beckett was performing phenomenally, having taken down the opposing beater and having carried out a series of spectacularly smooth dodges.
And of course, she spoke too soon. A bludger was hurtling her way -- she saw it, really, and she tried to dodge, and she tried to duck, and she was so close, but -- the Ravenclaw felt the impact of the bludger on her torso, and then the feeling of air, and then the feeling of falling, falling, falling.
Does being a beater encompass being beaten up? Because that was certainly what it felt like. The beater thought that she had signed up for hitting the bludger -- she hadn't expected to only be getting hit so far. Does Aston offer workshops for that evasive manoeuvring that he was doing? Ebony would sign up instantaneously, because getting bludgered was not pleasant.
Just as a wave of black threatened to overcome her consciousness, something -- or rather, someone -- caught her. She blinked, slightly reeling, to see @Quinn Brook. Ah, what a hero. The beater raised a hand to feebly fist bump the third-year.

What was that Ravenclaw Chaser made of? She seemed unstoppable, and Frederick didn’t spare his voice in booing her. “Get out of here! You’re going to miss!” he shouted at the top of his lungs in Winnie’s direction, cupping his hands around his mouth to amplify the sound. His jeers might have reached her, but they certainly didn’t slow her down.
Moments later, other plays unfolded, and Frederick barely registered that Ravenclaw had scored again. Something had gone wrong, Pax had been thrown from their broom, as had Kora. By then, Frederick was already on his feet, heart racing, ready to mount his Comet and launch into the sky. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed two other substitutes being called in as well. That meant it was time for a new strategy, and Fred hoped he was ready for it.

Quinn smiled as another goal was scored. She flinched as people were getting bludgered left and right. Speaking of she noticed a falling body in the air. A teammates body. Quinn maneuvered quickly to catch a she caught @Ebony Vetra on her broom. Returning the first bumb giving by the fallen fifth year Quinn smiled and looked around for Ebony's broom. Avery winced as she watched two of her teammates fall. "Ouch. That didn't look pretty." She muttered to herself. She was strategizing with Alphonse this round. The combined strategizing was helping Avery get her head back into the game. She focused hard on how many points Winnie was scoring. "Wow. She's really good and definitely a threat. Though I don't know what to do against her." Avery commented to Alphonse.

Aston couldn't help but feel some pride and joy at the sight of the fallen Gryffindor beater, it's all just part of the game right? Wonder why they didn't have their bat though... Aston thought, but that question was soon answered by the two bludgers in quick succession, both of them ricocheting at him after hitting someone else. Luckily he did get out of it without a scratch.

Catching the bat that Pax had thrown towards him, Ethan grins in relief. This was going quite well, if he was honest. The beater readies a bludger for his next fling, determined to knock Aly off the field. Ethan's grin soon turns to horror, however, as the bludger whizzes off in the wrong direction and straight into Kora instead. “Shite...” He watches her tumble from their broom and down onto the hard ground. He shakes his head. No use in sulking; there's a game to win after all, Ethan decides as he rubs his nose. His shoulders square as he readies himself for another bludger—hoping he could at least make up for himself this time—and finally, he successfully knocks an opposing team member right out. Though, the beater feels a pair of eyes burning into the back of his skull. He glances over mid-air, and yep, there's Aly just... staring at him. Uh, what? Weird. But that thought doesn't last long, as the referee was calling for her. He frowns, watching as she leaves. Good riddance, he supposes, especially if she was planning to knock him off his broom.Action

Avis was… a bit lost to be honest. After her successful foul previously, she’d built up the confidence to give it another go and yet as she beelined towards Pax, the Ravenclaw screeched to a stop as the player met a Bludger rather harshly mid-air and tumbled off their broom, flipping uncontrollably through air.
Avis swallowed, watching them fall, but managed to snap herself out of it as Winnie scored another goal. She shook her head, clearing it, and shot upwards, ready for the next play.
