Meta-modding: As a writer and reader, your posts are written from the perspective of your character. Your character can't know information that was only revealed or disclosed to you as a reader of your RP partners’ posts (out of character). Your character would only know information that they obtained/discovered whilst in-character (eg, through IC conversations). To find out more, click here and read Section 8.

Lore: Please keep in mind the lore of Hogwarts.io and the Harry Potter Universe on this site when role-playing. As a student character, for instance, your ability to cast magic would be limited to the spells learnt during lessons/obtained through homework, or bought at the fifth floor study corners. Translate foreign languages: Hogwarts.io is an English-speaking site. All foreign languages used in RP posts must be accompanied by an accurate translation in English (in Revelio) to ensure communication on the site between members is clear. Thread Necromancy: Players are not allowed to post in threads that are: (i) A thread that has already been completed (all original participants have left), or (ii) a thread that has been inactive for more than 3 months unless you were an original participant. Plagiarism: As per the site rules, plagiarism is “defined as the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.” All forms of media (eg, photographs), written text, and works that you use in RPG that do not belong to you should be credited to the rightful creators/owners.
