@Ruka Tân
Fortunately Opeila had paid attention to the boy's reation, so she immediately pulled her arms back, when he lifted a hand to his eyes, what she interpreted as a sign of discomfort in this situation, polite defense. Regretting that she had even tried, she removed a strand of hair from her face, but Ruka didn't seem angry with her or anything, he sent her a little smile.
He said that letting go was alway hard and placed Jack's fedora on his head. Opeila looked at it. She wished it wasn't here. It gave her the silly feeling, that he was here, almost laughing at both of their stupidity to trust him. Jack was a dirty bastard, hurting everyone, who was stupid enough to trust him on his way to then leave them behind. Should he go his way. Right now Opeila would just love to see him fall on his stupid face, feel the same pain he caused Ruka and herself.
Irritated about that sudden anger, Opeila nodded at Ruka's words. "It is." One good thing came wi this. The tears were gone. She wouldn't cry anymore. But instead she couldn't say a lot anymore either, because it would definitely include a few not so nice things about Burnett.
She didn't have to say anything, Ruka started to speak again. He said that they could just try and make it work somehow. Everything would be alright again.
Opeila looked at Ruka's profile. "Do you believe that?" As fast as this sudden anger had appeared, it disappeared again, leaving behind a little girl. A little girl, that wanted to be told that she would be fine. That didn't want to be alone. "You think it is gonna be alright?" It was no ironic question, or sarcasm. Opeila wanted to hear it again, be told not to worry, that things would be sorted out.
Deep inside she knew, that they would not. Not in a long time. Sniffing quietly, she pulled her legs closer to herself and wrapped her arms around her knees.

@Opeila Seilun
Ruka felt a wave of gratitude flood his body as Opeila let go of him, clearly having felt his discomfort at the physical affection. It wasn't that he didn't want or even long for an embrace, but the mere association to the only two people he'd ever thought genuinely important to him, the two people who had left his life like it was nothing, made him cringe away from it anyway.
As Opeila pulled back from the hug she moved some hair from her face, a sheepish gesture, maybe something born from fear that he was somehow mad at her for having attempted to comfort her, so he reached over for a moment to take her hand and give it a reassuring squeeze, just to make sure that he didn't feel any resentment towards her.
There were so many emotions to be found in the other girl's eyes that for a second Ruka got lost in trying to get a hold on all of them. Hurt, anger, fear - He knew all of it far too well even if right now they had all blended together in a deep pit of emptiness. Where Ruka's emotions seemed to be eating away at him on the inside, Opeila's were visible on her face like she could barely contain them.
She looked so young like this, even younger than she actually was, fragile and scared and just waiting for a friend to envelop her and help her carry her burdens. Ruka wished so hard he'd be able to be that kind of friend. He wanted to offer his shoulder to cry on, wanted to wrap his arms around her and tell her that she was okay, but all he could bring himself to do in that moment was to rasp out an "I do" when she questioned if he really believed that things were going to be alright.
He could hear a quiet sniffle from her, and he looked the other direction for a moment as if to give her some privacy.
"Opeila," he said quietly as he reached up to pull the fedora further into his face. With a little sigh he stood up, brushing his hands over his trousers before turning to look at the girl on the floor again. "You'll be okay. I believe that. You're a fighter, so don't give up. Especially not on yourself." He smiled gently before turning to walk towards the door.
Before exiting, he turned around one more time. "I really loved your playing. You're very talented." With that last compliment, Ruka put a hand on top of the fedora as if to make sure it wasn't going to fall off.
With one push against the door he left.
