THIS IS A CLOSED HOGWARTS EXPRESS THREAD. THE RP IS OVER.
I crouch, pushing my trunks under the seat. I run my thumb across the fabric tag Mum made for it, feeling the embroidered text; " Property Of Parker A. Crowe. " I smile and stretch as I stand up.
I'd manage to snag one of the carriages in the back area of the train-One completely empty if you ignored the rubbish and dirt littered on the floor-Since most people were eager to meet new people and sit with old friends. I settle into a seat in the corner, watching the platform on the other side of the window.
I search for Mum, giving her a small wave of reassurance. She had that weird Mum-only look they get anytime you do something without them. Last time I had gotten the look, Mum was sending me off to camp for the summer. Once I successfully comfort her I'll be fine on my own, she waves, blows me a kiss, and disappears back through the wall onto the normal, non-magic platform.
I sigh softly as I settle back into my seat. I close my eyes and fall into a light sleep.
Please please please feel free to come in and wake Parker!! I specified light sleep so your character would have an entrance:]

I had gotten a bit lost on the train well really I wasn't lost I just wasn't sure where to go or what compartment to sit in, so my nerves having jumbled and not sure what to do with myself I duck into a seemingly empty compartment dragging my trunk with me as my hair flared into an odd sort of crimson color.
As soon as the train pulled into the station, all of the excitement I had for going to Hogwarts disappeared and was replaced with anxiety that I may not be liked or perhaps worse bullied. But my dad said that it would be just fine and that he would write to me as often as he could. However, my dad wasn't able to see me off on the train, but at least my grandma and her fat black cat were able to.
This was my first time truly away from my grandparents' farm. I was gonna miss helping them take care of the animals.
Upon entering the cart, I found that apparently I was wrong about it being empty. I didn't know if whether or not I should leave this guy alone. I wasn't quite sure if I should even say anything cause it seemed like he was asleep.

I yawn and stretch as the train's movement pulls me out of my dozing. I'm slow to wake-I run my hand through my hair and readjust my seating.
I notice the other person in the cabin. I pause, pulling my legs to my chest and off of the seat across from me. I wave politely but remain silent. My eyes travel over their luggage, trying to gauge what kind of person this kid was. "Are they from a normal place like me? Well, their hair is dyed, so maybe. I haven't seen any magic folks with dyed hair, have I?" I muse internally.
I reach into the bag I put under me, grabbing a pencil and my sketchbook. I doodle silently. I don't mind speaking to strangers, but I'd prefer they make the initial contact.
"I don't think they have a pet. Or any magic stuff, besides what we were told to buy. I wonder what part of England they're from. Are they from England? Does Hogwarts even accept students who aren't from somewhere in the UK?" As I get lost in my thoughts, I forget about my drawing, and instead just stare with a concerning glare-y expression at my blank page, twirling my pencil swiftly between my fingers.

"oh um sorry if I um woke you."
I had shoved my dad’s old trunk under the seat that I had sat in across from him. My trunk as it was my dad's old one and it still very much had "Property of Edward Lively" embroidered in shiny silver on the front of the lid from when my dad was just a boy at Hogwarts and if anyone had a sense of mind to have not asked my name they would have called me by my father's name which I probably would not have minded much. I most likely wouldn't even bother correcting them as far to much in the moment has made me nervous about a lot.
"I didn't mean to bother you. I--i can take my trunk an--and leave if you'd like."
I couldn't help but internally curse my nervous stutter it was just one of those things that I just couldn't help.
I tried to calm my nerves so that the odd crimson that it was would return to the purple that I normally had kept.
I was a Metamorphmagus yes but I never actually had to explain that to anyone considering that I lived with my dad and grandparents and they knew what it was as my dad's sister was one too.

I was on the train. Looking for some place where I could sit. It was loud, the compartments were filled with children full of life and joy in their eyes. All of the compartments were full. I have been on a train, however it had been in a much worse state than this. And how long ago it was... I looked around, my blue eyes scanning the area with a hint of caution in them, they always had in them. My hand clenched tighter on the handle of my suitcase, which was old and worn out.
My mind wandered to various questions I had. I was curious to see Hogwarts. Would I be treated differently than back there in the boarding school, which served almost as my home, even though I could never view it that way. Which house would I get in? What would I learn? How is magic like? As my mind travelled to various scenarios of the future and various questions that were yet to be answered, I suddenly bumped into a student. I said sorry multiple times. They walked away, minding their own business. I exhaled in relief.
As I continued walking, I found an empty compartment. I opened the door with a shaky hand. I saw two boys sitting there. I spoke up, my voice quiet and trembling...
"H-Hi... M-May I sit? A-All of the compartments are full..."
Gods, I hated talking to strangers. I expected the worst, I expected them to act like all the other children back in my boarding school. Betitle me for my facial scars and call me weird of completely ignore me. My trembling hand tightened around a book I was holding in my hand. I was planning to read it on the train. "Modern Physics" it was titled. However I noticed the gazes of the two boys. They were different from what I was used to. Kinder.

I don't even notice the other new student, as I am currently freaking out over the fact that Lotus' hair had changed colors. I've learned closer, as if trying to find wires or some form of practical effects to explain away the change.
After giving up and deciding it was just a small dosage of the magic I was yet to see, I run my hands through my hair to keep a steady head. I notice the new girl as she speaks.
"Hm? Oh. yeah. I don't mind. I don't think Periwinkle here does either."
I let a huff of laughter slip from my lips as I gauge how Lotus reacts to the teasing. I double take as I realize the new student is a girl. The only girls who've ever willingly spoken to me kindly have been Mum, Amity, and a few teachers throughout my childhood.
"Uhm. You're...Pretty."
I murmur. "'Pretty' is the word, right? Yeah. Ralph said girls like being called pretty. He said it's a good way to make new lady friends-Wait, did he mean flirting when he said that? Oh, feck. I didn't want to flirt with her." I think. I hesitate, making a few hand gestures absentmindedly as I try to backtrack without insulting her.
"Well, not like that. I just-Uhm. I-Sorry, I don't usually talk to girls. You're not ugly, is what I mean, I guess. Ralph said it's good to compliment girls, but I'm just now realizing he meant it for when you're..like..trying to get a girlfriend. Am I rambling? I think I'm rambling. Sorry."

I figured that the boy wouldn't mind me staying much especially after the girl had walked in.
I looked a mix of flustered and embarrassed when the boy called me Periwinkle. I couldn't tell if he was being rude or not but I figured that he wasn't trying to be mean.
I then blurt out "My name is Lotus not Periwinkle!" I then felt stupid so I just looked at my lap as my hair turned the oddest shade of gold yellowy brown I was so sure that I was going to be made fun of for my outburst that I had completely forgotten about how my hair changes color with what ever strong emotion I was feeling.
I then decide to look at the girl and I realized that she was in fact a girl I had never really talked to much of anyone so i didn't really know what to say to her other than "I--i don't mind. I then look to the other boy Who's Ralph?" having some how completely forgotten that other people weren't an only child like I was. I didn't know what to do with myself at this point considering that I wasn't the best with people as I never really hung out with people outside of my family.
I'd fidget with something I kept in the inside pocket of my robes.

A deep blush appeared on my face. I haven't been called pretty often, due to my scars. I didn't think I was pretty. Even though I inherited the appearance of my mother, who used to a beautiful woman. The redness was clearly visible on my pale face, even though I tried to hide the blush.
"T-Thank you..."
I said quietly and sat down. I observed the coloured hair of Lotus.
"I like your hair. Did you dye it? How did it change colours?"
I questioned with genuine curiosity and amazement. I didn't even notice what impact my questions would make, I was simply impressed. I have never seen something like that before.
I ran a hand trough my raven hair, still trying to hide my blush and my scars. My hand clenched around my book. I observed the boys with calculating eyes. I didn't even know that it might look scary or unnerving, then I looked away, looking at the landscape trough the window. It looked beautiful. The forests mysterious forests, the mountain far away, but close enough for me to see them. The rivers, their water sparkling blue. I looked back at the boys. I had so many questions, so many things I was exited about, however it would be a challenge for me to open up and make friends. I had my fears.

I continue to fidget with what I had in the inner pocket of my robe.
"ah um n--no I--I didn't. My hair just does that sometimes."
I wasn't even sure how to explain how my hair changes color. I try to calm down and my hair slowly turns back to the dark purple it normally was.
I still felt a little bit embarrassed. Well of course I still felt embarrassed considering I had thought that I had control over my emotions although I could occasionally control the color of my hair I guess that I did not have as much control over it as I had thought originally. I was also a bit embarrassed that at the age I was I should have grown out of having plushies but I genuinely couldn't help but keep my little black German Shepherd plushie in the inner pocket of my robes. I just supposed that I was just struggling some as I had never been this far from home before I also was sure that I had never had to go off and sleep in a bed that was not mine.
I'd look at the boy and then at the girl realizing that I didn't know either of their names.
"S--so um yall are?"

Fawkes entered the compartment in an almost sprint. She panted before turning around and noticing that the compartment was very much not empty. Oh uhhh I didn't know this compartment wasn't empty I'm so sorry! She said frantically as she attempted to smoothen her dark brown hair as it was sticking up slightly from her haste. I hope I'm not bothering you all but is it cool if I stay here a bit? Someone I know is trying to get me to eat bad jelly beans from a bertie's packet. She chuckled awkwardly as she pulled her trunk into the compartment so that it didn't block the way.
Her trunk had a nice blue patch with her name embroidered on it in a brighter blue. The brighter Fawkes Chaos stood out amongst the embroidered stars. She kept looking outside the door to make sure whoever it was she was running from didn't find her. When she figured she was safe she turned to face the other in the compartment as well. I guess it's a bit rude if i just barge in here and don't introduce myself. Im Fawkes . She said cheerfully. She hoped she wasn't intruding as her socially anxious self caught up to her words. She wasn't normally so forward but there were times it so happened she was more social.
If you feel lost look up at the night sky. The stars will light your path!
