It was February 14th, Valentine’s Day. The notion of having a Valentine might be a little bit too far from her. Not that Rosaline hadn’t thought of these things before, she didn’t know how she found the right one for her or even how the relationship would work. Everything was a mystery to her, so she decided to leave these questions to another day. Yet there was an event out there at the Great Lake, one of Rosaline’s favorite spots at Hogwarts. Lucille and her had discussed it from the week before, and they decided they could attend the tea party together.

The end of the winter was still chilly. Rosaline chose an outfit that represented the day well and was also capable of keeping warm outdoors. Putting on a bright red cashmere turtleneck and high-waisted indigo jeans, with a boxy, collarless quilted jacket featuring a red and white gingham pattern, she tied a red scarf delicately around her neck. Gladly to see how the look had turned out, she put on her double-strap red Mary Janes. She always adored this pair of shoes. On her hair, the red ribbon replaced the usual baby-blue one. It had tied into a cute fishtail braid. The last touch was her collection of perfumes. She picked Young Rose today, sprayed it on her wrist and neck. The rosy, musky scent felt like home to her.

Happily heading out, she met Lucille in the Gryffindor Common Room. They chatted with excitement on their faces and walked toward the event location. On their way there, they unintentionally bumped into Cecilia at the Corridors, Leo at the Great Hall, and Erast at the Courtyard. The level of coincidence almost made her giggle. Suddenly, they formed a five-person group. A smile spread across Rosaline’s face as she kept walking. She had made quite a few friends, really. All of them chatted and laughed and finally arrived at the event.

The route from the castle to the Great Lake made Rosaline think of the Autumn Ball. She glanced at Leo; face flushed a little. They had dined and danced with each other, even trapped in the underwater escape room together. It was a fond memory. The place near the lake was transformed into a pretty tea party venue. The most notable decoration, in her opinion, was the rosy arches, in line with the event's theme. The roses emitted a fragrance similar to the perfume she wore today.

Rosaline spotted a familiar Ravenclaw, Camille. He was decorating cookies with a pretty girl who looked slightly older than him. She cast a curious glance at them and then her focus quickly shifted to the matter of choosing a table. There was a long table in the corner and several round tables across the green grass. Rosaline inquired, “Maybe we can squeeze in one of those round tables? It looks quite nice to have tea and chat there.” Her eyes lit up as she saw all the desserts and cookies that they could paint frosting on and sprinkle with sugar powder. She suggested in a cheerful tone, “We should definitely try the cake and cookie later.” Chuckling, she felt content that she could spend Valentine’s Day with her dear friends.

"QUOTE OR SONG LYRIC HERE"

Bored. That was the word to describe the current mood Cash was in. The green yes had finished all of their assignment and homework; well, they had finished what Cash had deemed to be worth working on. Now, Cash was lying on their bed, staring into nothing with their beloved dark blue acoustic-electric guitar parked near their head.

Cash then swung their feet off the bed and sat on the mattress. They let out a sigh of boredom, and it was then that the door of their dorm swung open. "Oh, thank Merlin, you're back!"Cash exclaimed to their new dorm mate. The first year blinked her eyes at Cash. The Sixth year then got up and walked straight toward the young girl.

"Well, come on then, don't just stand there like a buffon. Let's explore the castle. It is Saturday for Merlin's sake. Cash then grabbed the first year hand and dragged her all the way to the Great Lake. Cash didn't know why they dragged the first year out so far up to the Great Lake. When Cash saw there was lush greenery and rosy arches at the Great Lake, their curiosity kicked in.

The green eyes then dropped the first year hand as they stepped more forward into the setting and took in their surroundings. It seems another errand had been held by two of the Prefects of their house. Once Cash stood in front of the table that pre-made desserts and tea, Cash had grabbed some of the desserts and had poured out a cup of Chamomile tea.

Then Cash moved to the large tray covered in plain heart-shaped cookies. They grabbed 6 of those alongside red and white frosting to decorate the cookies. Once Cash's hands were full of what they needed, Cash chose the spot tucked near the back. Where pillows are laid out beneath a sheer white canopy.

The green eyes then took off the red overcoat that matched their skirt, then draped it across their thighs to keep out the still-cold winter air of February. "Don't just stand there, grab something and come sit with me. "They address the young first-year girl.

Graci was only there for the cookies. That was it. Not for anything but the sheer delightfulness of being able to decorate heart shaped cookies on what was a relatively useless holiday for most of Hogwarts, herself included. She hoped that far in the future it might not seem so unecessary, but this was not the future. Unfortunately. Though despite the usual disdain for a holiday she couldn't quite celebrate, Graci was excited nonetheless. Who was she to deny a tea party?

The rose petals had seemed a bit extravagant, but she could hardly have expected anything else. Sure, it was rather odd to be walking down to the lake all alone, but it was peaceful. The occasional laugh coming from the shore made Graci all the more eager to reach the excitement. And cookies. The chairs and tables were so grandly set that it was hard to rip her eyes away and continue on. The arches of greenery were yet another thing to make her fall in love with the set up. Who had such things on hand at all times?

She gingerly took a seat at one of the larger tables, eyeing the plain cookies set out. Why, I'm no artist, but cookies are a different story. Graci was, by no means, good at decorating cookies, but she liked to think her enthusiasm quite made up for it. Or something of that sort. With a soft exhale, she grabbed on of the small treats, pondering how she wanted to go about decorating it for its demise. Tea first, perhaps. While tea wasn't Graci's favourite beverage, if it was the right type she found it quite delightful. Bland tasting tea tasted as unappetizing as 'leaf water' sounded.

Sitting there, humming a song under her breath, Graci came to the slight realization that occasionally being alone wasn't that bad. Something she already knew, but had to keep reminding herself. Dependency on others for the will to simply exist isn't a good thing. Ugh. Shaking her head, she went back to her tea and decorating. Dwelling on oddly philosophical thoughts always made her decidedly gloomy. Pink sprinkles or red ones... such silly dilemmas to be faced with. Silly, yes, but justified all the same; sprinkle colors were a matter of serious importance when desicion making still felt like a chore.

The slow evening was a nice distraction. From her mind, and the aching feeling that she should be doing something more. Graci didn't quite know what 'more' was, only that her current state of mind felt utterly disconnected from the world. I just have to make some more friends. That's all. Or find really, really good distractions.

𝓣he morning had started out pretty normal for Leo. He fed and played with Perse for a while and did some studying before deciding to take a walk around. It wasn’t lost on him that today was Valentine’s Day, after all he did intentionally wear a red sweater for the occasion. What he wasn’t prepared for was being surrounded by couples in the halls. It wasn’t that he was annoyed by the couples being lovey dovey around him, more like he was curious. How did you know if you liked someone like that and more importantly how could you tell if they liked you back?

These thoughts and more buzzed in his mind as he walked at a slow pace through the hallways until he reached the Great Hall. He decided to take a break and leaned against the wall, glancing around as people passed by. At some point he closed his eyes and just listened to the sounds around him until he heard some familiar voices coming his way. Opening his eyes slowly he turned and saw Rosaline, Lucille and Cecilia coming by.

After finding out they were going to a Valentine’s Day event he decided to tag along at their request, not that he had much else going on plus they said there would be cookies involved. They picked up Erast on the way, which was a little awkward after their last meeting, and made their way out to the Great Lake where the area set up for the event was. It brought back memories of coming out here for the fall ball a few months ago. It had been such a fun evening so he was glad to get to spend another fun event with her and some of their other friends as well. Although he knew teasing would probably be inevitable for him today with Lu and Cece attending too. Glancing at Rosaline he noticed her cheeks were a little pink and he hoped she wasn’t too cold from being outside in the late winter weather.

Walking up to the event space all Leo could smell was the scent of roses in the air. As Rosa pointed out a table that would fit them all, Leo nodded and gave a small smile in agreement. “That seems good.” His eyes flittered from Rosa to the desserts that she mentioned and immediately wanted to dig in and eat some. Although the point was to decorate them first all he could think about was satisfying his sweet tooth and eating them as they moved to the table to sit. He turned his attention back to Rosa, “Do you know how you want to decorate them?” He asked as he took his seat, specifically trying to take a spot beside her.

Sorry if any errors.. Haven't slept in 35 hours as of right now...
A warm grin spread across Concetta's face as the girl accepted and read between the lines of her offer. Her gloved hands pulled back on the chair to her left and took a seat, placing her hands down in her lap as she looked at the environment from this new angle. They had really put a lot of effort into this tea party and the ambiance that accompanied it, but the blank heart shaped sugar cookies also beckoned her attention until learning the other girl's name.

"That's a pretty one! You name, I mean... I'm Concetta!" She awkwardly laughs, though it was earnest. A silence fell over for a split second before another girl with golden blonde hair approached and asked the same thing, if she could sit down, but she made her own destiny and didn't wait for a yes before plopping into a seat. It was admirable, in a way. The blonde introduced herself as Rosalyn, or Rose, but Concetta wasn't sure if they were quite close enough for nicknames, even if she did mention it. Her blonde curls were quite gorgeous, complimenting very well with the candlelight.

Rosalyn's declaration about the pinkness of the holiday was very on the nose from the pink frosting she was applying, to all the pink decorations. Even with a little red and white mixed in, pink was still very obviously the dominating color, and as she turned her head to Diana to see her response, she had to agree, but for a different reason.

"You'll get icing all over like that, Rosalyn" Concetta claims, looking over her shoulder to one of the side tables with more cookies and supplies on it, standing back up to nip a few napkins that were also pink. "Your cookie'll be no fun if it's all sticky", she says, dividing the napkins between the three of them for whenever they'll need them. The third of them for Rosalyn she put a little closer to her placemat than her own's and Diana's.

A gasp almost escaped from Concetta's lips hearing Diana didn't like socializing. That seemed like the main fun part of things like these. For her at least, the cookies were asinine. They could be cracking eggs into a tub for all she cared. "Not at all, Diana? What if you're watching then you get that feeling like you need to say something real' bad? You won't chime in?" It was a bizarre thing to her, but perhaps she was willing to hear Diana out. Her introspection around the holiday was quite mature, and it made Concetta hum, then look at Rosalyn for her input too before responding, "sure so, yeah? Then it's good to talk to people! Talking's fun! I don't know about her," she says, looking sidelong at Rosalyn dramatically enough the satire was obvious, "but I don't bite, personally."

Emiline loved the season of love. It gave her another opportunity to potentially come out. Would she today? She'd just go with the flow and see. She'd seen the bright pink posters around and knew it would involve some sort of sweet treat for this sweet season.

Her idea of valentines has changed over her three years at Hogwarts. During her first year, it had nothing to do with love only friendships and the sweet treats, her second year she focused on some jokes and sent secret admirer cakes to some of her friends. But this year she felt she had to be serious about it.

There had been the girl she'd seen around, her brown wavy hair, bright blue eyes, such rosy lips. Emiline blinked. She was thinking about her again.

She made her way to the Great Hall and grinned when she saw the set up. A cutesy tea party! On one side, was an area for groups of friends and potentially couples, and her mind instantly thought of Simon and AngelFyre and how they had broken up earlier, this day for them must be sour rather than sweet. On the other side, were tables with cookies and toppings layed out all neatly. It looked like something out of Mr Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

She choose a cookie and three colours, a bright pink, a purple and a darkish blue. She knew she would have to make a bold move or it could been seen as a friendly gesture rather than the ideal, more than friendly gesture.

She grabbed a piping bag and hoped it wouldn't look too tacky. With the bright pink fondant she piped it onto one third of the cookie. Next, she grabbed the purple and piped it next to the pink still covering one third. She then went to grab her blue fondant but couldn't find it. She glanced around her area but couldn't see it. She ducked down to see if it had rolled under the table. Yes. There it was. Sitting there innocently. She added this colour with more care, as if she messed this up it would be harder to cover up as its the darkest colour. Her tongue slipped out in concentration. It had to be perfect for her, her little crush. Soon the final colour was added, Emiline took a small step back just to look.

It was missing something. But what?

The third year glanced around at the pre-set cakes and cookies and the ones with pink sugar coatings looked good. Effortlessly so. It was decided as her arm reached out to grab the pink sugar as her brain was playing catch up. Pinching some grains in her fingers, she sprinkled the pinky sugar in a curve to the left, then a curve to the right, then joining in the middle. A pink sugary heart. Emiline grinned.

It wan't subtle. Not one bit. It was brilliant for what Emiline intended to do. WAIT was she seriously going to give her crush a bisexual themed cookie with a pink sugar heart on it? What was she thinking, she's barely talked to her this year! Only admired from afar.... Would it be weird? Oh god!

Before she knew it, Emiline had made a copy of the one she just did, just in case it broke or got ruined in transport. She needed to confess. And she needed to do it today, with these two confession cookies.

Bringing all the thoughts together she grabbed the box to place her cookies in and walked out the great hall, to the girl with wavy brown hair and deep sea blue eyes.

Zephyr heard about that tea party; in fact, he had been debating whether to participate or skip it altogether. Valentine’s events were not usually his thing because of the decorations, too many flowers, too much pink, too many chances for awkward small talks. But when he saw the red notice on the bulletin board earlier and caught the scent of the perfume, curiosity got the better of him. And besides, decorating cookies sounded harmless enough, and the idea of warm tea by the lake didn’t seem so bad. Why not?

He was making his way down the castle corridor to head toward the courtyard doors that led to the Valentine’s tea party, when he noticed someone familiar, Bree. The girl was standing alone near a window with her arms crossed over her chest. She's got that far look on her face. She didn’t even seem to notice his presence when he stopped beside her. If he would take a good guess, the girl was upset. About what, that is the big question.

Normally, he would have ignored it, as he was not one to mind other people's business, and people often wanted space. It was probably the look on her face that made him stop. "Hey... Is everything okay?" The girl just looked at him and tried to brush him off. That was not the answer he expected. If it really didn’t matter, she wouldn’t have said it like that. She wanted him to leave. That was enough for him to understand that this is something personal to her, and that she didn’t want to share what was wrong with her.

Realising she would never tell him what was wrong, he put the matter in his own hands. He knew she needed someone to be there for her, at least that's what he learned from observing people ever since he arrived here. They sometimes show they can manage, but in reality, they need someone to understand them, be there for them. "You know what, I'm going to the tea party, and you're coming with me."

Without another word, he scooped her up over his shoulder like a sack and continued with his little trek to the event space. As expected, she's screaming expletives, but they all fall on deaf ears. If carrying her like a sack for a few minutes was the fastest way to get her there, then so be it. "You'll thank me later, Bree." She might hate him for this, but he just wanted to help her. “You said it doesn’t matter...” he adjusted his grip to make sure it wasn't too tight so it wouldn't hurt her. “..so we’re going.” Whatever else she was telling him, he would only reply, “Nope.”

He just walked calmly toward the courtyard, as if nothing had happened. The scent of sweets and roses spilled into the air. As soon as they arrived, he set her down and raised both his arms in defense. "Heep! Before you say anything, look around you. Isn't this nice? We can decorate cookies and ignore everything else. I promise it will help.” For a moment at least. This is better than just standing there in the cold corridor and be miserable for the rest of the day while everyone else is having fun.

Cupid's Cookies

Laasya groaned as she realized what the day was. Valentines Day, aka that one day when everyone is acting a tad too cheery and giving hearts and the couples acting all lovey-dovey. To be honest she wasn't a big fan of romance but she could tolerate it. But not too much. She got up and got ready. She wore a black skirt with a dark red sweater that her mom had bought her during Christmas break, when she was at home in London. She was happy that her mom was no longer sick as she had been back in January. She had received the letter from her father that she was alright after sending a return letter, which had been a whole other story. As for the hair, instead of tying it someway, she decided to just brush it a bit and let it down. She then played with her cat for a bit, then left the dorm room. Pearl had fallen back asleep as soon as she left, sleeping was her main hobby.

●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●❤︎●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

She went outside the common room and was about to enter the great hall for some food when she saw several students and a few rose petals near the bulletin board. Curious she decided to check it out. On a red and pink notice was the information that a tea party near the Great Lake, on the occasion of Valentines day was being set up. "Should I go?" Laasya thought to herself. She did not have a date, but it mentioned that there would be cookies. That caused Laasya to make up her mind immediately, as Laasya was a huge fan of sweets, but her mom never let her have too many. And maybe while there, she could meet someone new. And it would be plain boring to be the only one inside the castle while everyone was enjoying outside. So she went in the direction of the rose petals, to the courtyard, to the lower ground and then finally reaching the shore of the great lake where the tea party was held.

●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●❤︎●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

Overlooking the Great Lake was a sight. Surrounded by greenery and pretty arches where tables of different shapes and sizes. There was a long table, a canopy with pillows and plenty of smaller tables. On each of these tables were china teacups and plates with piles of certain sweets. Besides all of this were trays with plain heart shaped cookies along with different colors of frosting, sprinkles and sugar, in order to decorate the cookies. Laasya was delighted. She went over to one of the smaller tables, sat down and picked up a cup of tea. She tried to drink it, unfortunately it was scalding hot, which probably meant it was just made, since it was winter outside. "Ouch!" Laasya exclaimed while putting the cup back down suddenly, being careful not to spill any on the pretty tablecloth, which probably took a great amount to time organizing and she did not want to be the one to ruin everything. She took one of the cookies, along with some light pink, white and dark brown frosting. She first covered the cookie in the light pink frosting. Then with the other two colors, she drew a pretty white flower on it and finished it off with a touch of sugar. "Perfect!" Laasya thought to herself as she put it down. The only thing that would make this day better was if she had somebody to talk to.

Bree sighs as she leans against the wall. Shivering slightly she crosses her arms over her chest and continues to stare out the window. Today happened to be Valentines. Which Bree had now made the one holiday she hated. Her grandmother loved Valentines Day. She found the sweetness in it and tried to bring it to everyone for everyone to enjoy. But now that she's... she's dead, she can bring anyone the joy of today. Thinking about her grandmother, drags her mind to her grandma's funeral.

It was terrible. Completely opposite of what her grandmother would've wanted. She hated when everyone was mourning for something. She would've wanted them to celebrate her death and accepted her death. But no. Her mother threw a open funeral. Bree despised every part of it. All those strangers, faking grief for someone they don't even know. Tears stings her eyes, and her hands curl into fists as she thinks about it. Letting out a loud sigh, she stares out the window and tries to clear her head.

Steady breathing and calming herself down, she hears footsteps behind her. Ignoring them, she stares out the window, watching everyone, hoping that whoever is coming just leaves. As the footsteps comes closer, she squeezes her eyes shut. Finally silence falls over but before she opens them again, she jumps at the familiar voice that addresses her.

Opening her eyes, she sees Zephyr. The first year Hufflepuff who she met in the bathroom and helped her clean up the mess with the jumping beans. Raising her eyes to met his, she says sharply, "Its nothing just... just go. It doesn't really matter."

Turning around, moves to leave. Only accomplishing moving two steps, his voice stops her. He tells her that shes going to go with him. Processing what he just said., she spins around. "Wherever your going, you could go by yourself!" Before she turns, shes suddenly midair. Letting out a surprise yell, she realizes he picked her up. He gently places her over his shoulder as she screams for him to put her down. Pounding on his back, she screams and yells. He ignores her and continues to take her wherever he was originally heading. People turn as they make their way across Hogwarts. Scowling at everyone, demands him to put her down once more.

When they get to where he took her, people stare as he finally puts her down. She spins around angrily with both fists clenched but before she says or does anything he puts his hands up in defense. He tells her to look around and asks if this is nice. Letting out a sarcastic laugh, she spits out no. He continues to talk. When he finishes, she rolls her eyes and murmurs under her breath, "Screw you." Then she looks around. Making a face, she watches as everyone laughs and decorates cookies. "Fine. Then you'll leave me alone after."

Turning, she storms off to an empty table before he says anything more. Pulling out the chair, she drops down into it. Crossing her arms, she leans back in her chair and waits for him to come and sit. "So is this what you wanted? Why the hell do you think I want to decorate a cookie?" She spits this out with venom in her words once he finally sits across from her.

𝕷ike was a strong word. Amused? Entertained? Possibly. Those were her conflicting emotions as she watched the starry-eyed students. It didnt take her too much time getting the scent of cupid, apparently drifting through the long corridors of hogwarts. The day of love and desperation finally arrived in its full glory, seizing students in a performance of ardent passion, though in her opinion, all the passion of a damp napkin. Perhaps her opinion would change over the years, but for now, she clutched the entertainment it offered. There was no greater pleasure than observing the lovestruck students scurrying around the castle, seemingly in a hurry to deliver oppressed confessions and exchanging sweet, tender notes to one another. The castle itself seemed to carry hints of pink, glitters and echoes of affection.

That was when she saw it. The trail of love and odd tables. Odd wasnt the correct word, they were striking. In all shapes and shades, they stood out like a painting on a plain, uncluttered wall. She assessed it was some sort of tea party, those seemed to happen a lot around here. It captured the essence of love perfectly. There was the smallest of a pause, a short mental debate whether she should go or not. Merely scrutinizing would eventually prove to be tedious sooner or later, and she didnt have much to do on this unpleasant day. That decided it, a growing grin on her face as she threw a fitting attire for the merry occasion. Striding without much purpose, knowing she had to know some basic information about it, she walked towards the bulletin board. Surely it would have something. It turned out to be correct, it was indeed a tea party for the Valentine's day. Skimming over the bright notice, she again thought of approaching. Estella wasn't known for preening around tea parties, but there was always a first, she supposed. And a chance to wreak chaos would not be missed. And cookies. Definitely can't be missed. She didnt have too much of a sweet tooth, but cookies was one of her favourites. She didnt miss the irony of going alone to a day of companionship. Better solitude than awkward catastrophes.

Heading towards the great lake, she could already smell the floral scent of roses floating through the air. The tables were arranged in a way that you could've still be in a state of comfort even though surrounded by a small crowd. Some huddled together in a cocoon of intimacy and privacy, some stretched long for lighthearted discussions. Drinking in the details, she glanced at the exquisite setting, the verdant shore, all curated to perfection. Then again, to the tables, for the unfortunate individual who had to suffer through her insufferable company for now. She looked towards the secluded students, not actively in a group. But it seemed most had arrived with a partner. There. She breezed through the crowd and settled into the chair. Merlin bless this poor soul. She took a brief glance to the girl sitting next to her, who seemed to be in some sort of melancholic mood despite the joyous environment. That would change soon. But she had a pleasant demeanour, it reminded her of summer breezes and cherries? Discarding the nonsense spouting from her brain, she looked for something of greater importance. The cookies were bare, left alone for the artist's imagination. There were trays adorned with numerous sweets and teas in extravagant ceramic cups. It was peaceful, too much so. She couldn't help the impish smile growing on her face as she turned towards her neighbour who was completely at ease, so much so that she felt a ping of pity. Not enough to stop her from making an introduction, though. The fragments of a smile broadened, eyes glimmering. “ It looks like everyone has a partner. ” She murmured before realising she missed something, the introduction. Perhaps she should've just decorated the cookies. An apologetic frown creased over delicate brows, fingers worrying with the smooth fabric already. “I'm Estella.” She offered a friendly nod, and would've offered her hand if it wasn't busied with cookies. She didn't have much of an idea for the cookies, and decided to pick spontaneously. The day was already following a path of chaos, and she could only hope it would follow it to the end.
