General The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018

Bloom tried to believe her own lies that she told the Ravenclaw. It's going to be okay... She kept repeating over and over in her head. As she was trying to mentally calm herself down, her mind kept racing. The amounts of screaming between the other Ravenclaw's and the Slytherin's was not helping her at all. Bloom began to tunnel vision.

As an eleven-year-old who is not able to understand what the living hell was going on, her hands became clammy and her eyes focused on the large pile of hair that was hers on the floor. She bent down to grab it and looked at it and couldn't help but to scream in pure irritation.

"STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" she blurted at the table, her right fist pounding on the table and her brown eyes still staring at the pile of hair in her left hand. Her breathing was heavy from the loud and long scream.

Her mind kept racing. She knew this was only a jinx, but it was not something she was prepared for. She knew there was lots of tension with Slytherin, but couldn't they make their jokes somewhat classy? This was morbid and disgusting. To have all Ravenclaw sitting together losing their hair... That's not funny at all.

"Fix it," she said, looking at the tall Slytherin boy. "please...," Bloom's eyes began to water up and a tear fell down her right cheek.

OC: Figured there has to be someone who cries between all you yellers! :P

Marcus stared at the girl for a few seconds then sighs and shakes his head "Not sure why you are asking me, but I do know a potion that -may- regrow hair and make it silky and shiny" he said softly then smiled a smile that could only mean trouble in the future "But of course, I can't just give this potion away for free now can I?" He asked tapping his chin in thought "So how about this a favor for a favor so to speak, and I will cash in my favor in the future" He said looking toward the girl "Plus I will need time to make the potion if you agree to the deal, plus I'm sure others would agree as well so I would need time most of all to brew the potions in a large enough quantity that it will work for everyone" He said matter-of-factly then looked back to the girl Erin was arguing with earlier "Is that not agreeable?" he asked then glanced to Erin with a nod.

"So..who here wants their hair back instead of waiting for their hair to regrow by itself?" He asked everyone in every table "Just pass me along your names and table and I shall begin working on the potion post haste"

Ravenna sat down next to a tearful girl. She didn't hear the girl however. She didn't notice the cocky boy nearby, either.

Ravenna Guntram the Ravenclaw. How much raven can one take before they explode? She felt defeated.

As she felt herself crashing into the arms of defeat, rising within her was her sense of defiance. The same defiance that had seen this sorting ceremony as her opportunity to throw off her chains of ravenness. God what a horrible color blue is.

She stewed for a couple minutes probably, hating all things raven and all things blue. And then her mind and her body reunited and she remembered where she was. She noticed the girl sitting next to her. She wondered briefly if the girl had tried to speak to her or not. She had no idea. She decided her best course of action was to introduce herself and treat anything that happened before as if it didn't.

"Hi. My name is Ravenn..." she choked on her own name. So much raven. So she cleared her throat and tried again.  "My name is Ravenna. What's your's?"

Bloom's heart began to pound; her breathing racing ever so slightly. She listened to the Slytherin and heard that he knew of a cure. If she was able to calm down, Bloom would rationalize the situation and realize that it was him as most learn both the jinx and cure at the same time. But unfortunately, she was a bit more emotional than she had wanted.

Bloom always wondered why the Sorting Hat placed her in Ravenclaw. If anything, she found herself more of a Hufflepuff. Perhaps there was more to her than she thought. However, this situation did not show her as a Ravenclaw at all. Bloom was not thinking rationally at all, she was emotionally drained from what was happening and couldn't help but to think about what kind of favor the Slytherin needed for the cure.

That slimy Slytherin... I just want the cure, she thought to herself. More tears were cascading down her olive skin. She wiped her eyes dry with her shirt sleeve and took a deep breath. "Deal," she said, feeling defeated. She looked around at other Ravenclaw's with hair loss and looked to the ground. "I'll add on another favor if you cure the rest of the Ravenclaw's too," she added, hoping he would take on the addition.

Bloom's breathing relaxed and her tunnel vision lessened. She was finally able to see what was around her. She saw that there was a girl next to her who did not seem to be affected by the jinx, but caught Bloom's attention because she was introducing herself. Bloom wiped away any wetness around her eyes and face and gave a small smile at the girl. "Hi Raven, I'm Bloom," she said, trying to feel stronger. Bloom tried to reach for her hair, only to feel nothing in its place. Oh right..., she thought and sighed. "Also, I usually have hair," she randomly said, trying to  validate her awkward feelings of what this Ravenclaw might think of her.

Marcus raised an eyebrow while giving the girl a look of slight surprise yet with a calculating gaze in them as well "A favor for each of your housemates." He responded "And I will personally make your house's batch first" he added "And..I will also find a way for you to learn a way to block those kind of spells next time" he adds on to the deal to attempt to sweeten it for her "I mean sure you can use a Protego but that obviously has a large drain on your magic, I was honestly surprised Arya did it so flawlessly, so I will teach you and only you a lesser version of the protego but still effective against most jinxes and hexes." He pauses to let it sink in for her "Deal or no deal?" He asked with a small smile "You will also receive the first vial of the potion, if you want." He continues to sweeten the deal even more

Marcus looks at the girl curiously "Ah since I am giving you so much in this deal..I..would prefer an Oath to not disclose what I teach you as well the ingredients in the potion, a guy has to keep his secrets after all."

Bloom's brown eyes widened. Bloom looked around the Ravenclaw table that was affected and counted about ten Ravenclaw's with their hair falling to the ground, balding. Her one extra favor had magically turned into ten more. Putting together the favors as a whole, it made a total of eleven favors that she owed this slimy Slytherin.

The worst part was that she had no idea what these favors were going to be. Was she going to be doing his homework? Was he going to dare her to do something worthy of a detention, suspension or even worse, an expulsion? What did Bloom get herself into? She didn't even know what to feel-- she was still in shock of the entire situation and she was calming down at the same time.

He began to add more and more to the deal-- most of them were in her favor. He added that he would teach her how to protect herself from most jinxes and hexes and give her the first vial of the cure. That was beyond nice for a Slytherin. She paused every so slightly to sink in all the information and nodded. "Fine," she agreed, "but first, what's your name?" she asked, realizing that all she referred to this boy was a 'slimy Slytherin.' She might as well put a name to the title.

"Ah finally you ask, I was sure you were going to nickname me something like 'filthy snake' or 'slimy snake' or my personal favorite since everyone seems to continue to think Slytherin is fool of dark wizards 'The Next Dark Lord or Future Dark Lord' but alas my name is only Marcus De Wynter" He says with a chuckle and a grin on his face "It is a pleasure to meet you miss, and I will contact you in the future or you can contact me whichever is fine with you" he said with a shrug "I should probably make my way to the dungeon now, will need to find my father's notes" He added with a sigh as he walks away from the table heading to the doors and down to the dungeon with all the grace and sophistication of a Pureblood Heir 'The arrangement doesn't seem so bad in all honestly, plus I was kind enough to help the Ravenclaw table out as well, guess I did my good deed of the day' he nods to himself as he chuckles softly from his thoughts 'I will also need to find Arya and Vera in the future' he added in an afterthought.

Leave it to Marcus to make it all about him even when he should be laying low. "Marcus, I am fine,"  she announced flatly. She was not sure what he was up to but it was not going to be good for anyone. She did not expect Marcus to back her, she would give him a sideways glance when he stated that he would be her second and that he wished to make amends. Well, not in those words exactly.

She was at a loss for words, not because she was grateful but because she was befuddled by his abrupt change of heart and demeanor. Did he actually care or was he trying to make some point? Erin was a tragically flawed young woman that had nothing to do with how she was raised, it was what she was at her core. An insecure and envious creature at her center with a surface of seething anger and hate that she lacked the practice and control to override. Despite that she found clarity in the flames, that was when the world became bright and simple. There was power in her interminable rage. "It is just--" She was going to continue her tirade, goad the girl into striking her again.

Anger often begets anger.

However she was stopped by a bellowing cry. The sound belonged to one Bloom Silverton, a first year Ravenclaw. Her hair had abandoned her like the rest and the distress, the bitter duress was enough to stop her. She would abandon Helle's scorn, she had enough of her own. The girl begged Marcus of all people to cure her of her plight and of course Marcus would oblige if she would accept a Faustian deal. Erin should have warned her, told her that a cure for a jinx was not worth a promise but she did not. She was not a good person, she was not the hero of this story. For time time being, she was not even the antagonist even if her vociferousness suggested otherwise. She was more like the catalyst of things to come, things that none including herself knew.

She agreed to Marcus' price and foolishly added the weight of ten more. It would have been better for them and for her if  she only paid her own fare or better yet sought a cure from a cheaper peddler of such promises and wares. A teacher, an upper classman. She had other options, better options that she never explored but should have. The girl was compromised even if she did not realize it. She was not particularly bright either but that was hardly her problem.

She would wait until after the deal was made, there was no use intervening.

She would look at Bloom, her expression serious. "You should come with me." She was beckoning her away from the Ravenclaw table, in fact away from this room. "I will find you a hat," she added, her thin brows raised. What was she going to do with her or to her? Warn her about Marcus? Maybe. Fix her hair problem? No, she had no idea how to do that. Make a new friend? Sweet, but no. She was going to talk about Marcus, but not over what one would expect.

Just a trick of the lighting they said...

Helle was taken back when someone decided to join in against her. Another snake, she thought in frustration. She bit her bottom lip, angry still. "You dare accuse me of losing everyone's hair? Even you don't seem sure on that statement, snake!" Helle may be bold and throwing herself out there, but she wasn't completely stupid. A ravenclaw is supposed to be known for being intelligent, after all. But even they had a breaking moment, right? She flinched at the female slytherin who brought up her parents.

"Only my father is living, thank you very much. I have no care for a deceased woman who turned to dark magic and ruin my family name!"

When Helle noticed that one of her own house members were being thrown into a loop from a slytherin student, she suddenly had a faint idea, "You're the one who cast the spell?" She questioned him angrily, dropping her family history quickly, hoping nobody would note that she was a family member of the Wynne family, well known for their dark magic and trauma they caused out in the world. "How else would you know the trick to it? Rotten snakes as usual!" She hissed out, pointing fingers at them. "Always causing problems for everyone else then running away when you're pointed out!" It just came to Helle's mind that the slytherin boy was rather tall compared to everyone else of their grade. She taken back a bit some more and moved back, worried for her own safety this time despite just assaulting an innocent person.

"It won't be me that's being thrown out of this school! It'll be one of you instead!" She had little to no comeback against their words, failing as she noted that none of her house members were trying to back her up. A typical ravenclaw thing to occur. Unlike the other houses, the ravenclaw don't bother to back each other. Every man for themselves, Helle thought bitterly to herself.

While Helle turns blind to her doings when she's angry, she does get regretful after the events. She looked away from the two bitterly, realizing her flaw in planning ahead when she was angry. "Perhaps my...assault, was uncalled for,  but it doesn't mean you guys are any better!" She defended herself weakly, feeling herself shaking rather nervously. "I hope that one day karma hits you snakes hard!"

Marcus glanced over to the girl who was arguing with Erin "I do love how you are still continuing to accuse people when you yourself are being accused, especially when your accusations have no merit, sure I know a potion that can regrow hair, it is a future investment, I mean hell we learn how to remove warts and boils with a potion in class, I highly doubt we will ever use that potion but it is still there just encase."

He sighs shaking his head "Now it just seems like you are trying to accuse anyone, shame on you miss, shame..and they say Ravenclaws are smart, I never knew a Ravenclaw could be so devious though..trying to put the blame on a Slytherin who was only trying to help, once again shame on you." he said with a frown "I'm sure your father would be ashamed of how you are going about things, unlike a Ravenclaw" he added with a shrug "But yes continue to accuse people with no evidence, I'm sure your house is loving how you are acting, you are in the house of knowledge, be knowledgeable miss"  he told her with a raised eyebrow then once again shook his head and resumes attempting to leave.
