What's my house? Solo

Natasha knew her mother would want to know what house she was in. Her mother probably wouldn't care but Natasha did! Telling her mother meant making it official. Making it real. A part of her wasn't ready to accept it, the fact that she was a Gryffindor.

Whenever somebody asked what her house was, her mind immediately slipped to Slytherin. Because she was. She had to be.

A part of her wanted to lie in the letter. Keeping up her act of not believing. But her mother was bound to find out someday and it would be even harder when her mother knew she had lied to her.

She had to do it. She had to accept the fact. That she was... a Gryffindor. Saying it made her head hurt. It gave her a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. What kind of failure was she? One that was sorted into Gryffindor or one that couldn't cope with it?

No. She was stronger than that. She had to accept her fate. Even if it hurt. Even if she didn't want it. Sometimes life just isn't fair. This was an important life lesson; she tried to tell herself. It was just an obstacle she had to overcome. So, she wrote her letter -
Dear mother and father,
I am having a good time here at Hogwarts. The food is really good and the people are nice. I got pretty good marks on my latest assignments, just one or two Es. But don't worry, they're mostly Os.

You will probably want to know what house I was sorted in. Well, I was sorted in
She hesitated for a second. She was still thinking about lying. About avoiding it. But she had to.
Well, I was sorted in Gryffindor. And I'm fine with it. I just wish I was in Slytherin, but it's not all that bad. I even have a few friends! The common room is nice and so is the head of house.

I hope I have just about as much of a magical adventure you had here!

Miss you loads,
Your daughter,
Natasha
There it was done. It wasn't as bad as she had been expecting. She sent the letter off in a school owl and retreated back to her common room. She was a Gryffindor now.
