| xxxxxx | xxxx xxxxxx"𝔉ather, Mother, I have made the decision to not return to Hogwarts this year," Hana sternly ascertained, dramatically turning to face her family. Her skirt twisted with the movement, accompanying the declaration with a flare of the bouncy garment. Gloved hands clasped in front of her as her parents seemed to carefully consider her declaration; it was no secret that her time away from the manor was proving to be more of a stressor to the young girl. She ignored the muted snickers coming from her left side—meek attempts from the Youngest and the twins in withholding their laughter. Such bold words evoked a bold reaction from Father dearest, the man collapsing onto his knees in front of his daughter, entrapping her spindly body in a tight embrace. "Oh, my bitter flower," he practically sobbed, tucking his snout into her soft curls, "Your Father will miss you too, so, so much." It seemed her brothers could no longer maintain their composure in public; the hyena pack she was forced to claim relation to suddenly bursting out into fits of laughter—each brother characteristically making fun of her emboldened declaration. Hana merely sniffed haughtily in response, choosing to indulge herself in Father's embrace then fall for their childish antics. "Please allow me to remain homeschooled," she persisted, wrapping her arms around her father's neck, squeezing his body tight against hers, "I would like to remain home." Out of her two parents, her father was always the softest for his children, surely he would concede to her desperate cries for help. Father finally pulled away after a deep inhale into her hair, lips pouted, "But you must think of your education! Your mother and I wouldn't want anything but the best for our beautiful girl." His eyes twinkled, "And that tall castle there provides nothing but the best." Mother soon appeared at her side, her lifeless, bony fingers gently dragging down her head, "You are much more resillient than you believe to be, توتة¹." "But امه-" "Come along sister, always one for the dramatics, this one." It seemed her brother had taken matter into his own hands; the Youngest grabbing her by her collar—as if she were some sort of defiant kitten—dragging her her to ascending steps of the Hogwarts Express. He called for the twins to grab her luggage as she was inelegantly plopped onto the trian. A sadistic grin was plastered on his smug face as her trunk manifested beside her and the door closed behind him. She blinked at him angrily—to which he mouthed a loud good luck accompanied by raised thumbs she longed to cut off. A gloved hand was placed on the small glass panel of the door, witnessing her brothers making the idiotic decision to chase after the train, muffled farewells somehow permeating the steel walls. She lingered for a moment longer, long past when her family had faded into nothing but small specks as the train sped towards Hogwarts. Face remaining in its usual placate position, Hana began to walk down the clamorous halls of the train. Her black, frilly skirt bouncing excitedly as the young girl searched for a compartment to rest her tired feet. Dulled eyes followed the various schoolchildren that sped past her, blinking slowly if she ever made eye contact with any. Finally, the young Bakir would come across a compartment, occupied but one boy by his lonesome. She knocked twice before a gloved hand slide open the door, "Hello. My name is Hana Bakir. You seem like decent company. Would you mind if I accompanied you in this compartment? The others seem full and it's unfortunate you're by your lonesome." Insincerely, Hana Bakir ────────────────────────────────── ¹ Translation: Little Berry in Arabic (often a term of endearment among Egyptians for small children)² Translation: Mother @Fire Davies | xxxxxx |

The clouds seemed to dance across the sky at rapid pacing, dropping small glittery specks of themselves towards the earth, surrounding and encasing the boy's feet, so that everything felt 10 pounds heavier. The snow had mostly begun to subside with the coming end of the winter season, Fire huffed out an annoyed breath, watching his breath freeze into little puffy particles in-front of him. Honestly he was curious how or why that happened, what caused your breath to be seen within dropping temperatures, obviously it had to be the thermal heat against the freezing one that caused it. But really was it on a molecular level, he had made the mistake of being curious before with his father, asking him silly questions like what causes allergies?
He scrunched his nose at the memory that followed, never the most pleasant interactions, he had learn to take his questions elsewhere, he had to learn the independence himself. But now he could be the one to answer all the silly or useless questions for his younger siblings. Fire had smiled fondly, giving his siblings the largest hugs, embracing them warmly when he had returned and left the home without second thought. He had split his gathered galleons he had received from his little um... endeavors and missions between his siblings, pulling their ears afterwards, he couldn't let them think he was soft or anything. That's how it was, he would hide his small endearments to them with a bit of bullying, but if someone else did it. You can only imagine how much trouble they would be in when the big brother caught wind that somebody was mistreating his little siblings.
He felt a heavy bittersweet feeling hanging in his chest as he once again was faced with the gold furnished express of Hogwarts, he clutched the bag within his hands a little tighter as he furrowed his eyebrows. This time around, his mother had given him a quick drop off at the station, not much words were exchanged between the two of them except for a small goodbye, it had been awkward since last night. So at least farewells were quick and simple, as his siblings were at daytime school, and his father doing whatever with that grumpy expression of his.
Fire brushed and pushed his way through the crowd, watching family's hug each other in his peripheral with a tinge of jealousy flickering within him like a burning green flame. The boy was one of the first to board the train, having been dropped off pretty early without much delay. But he wasn't one to complain, first pick right? He chose a compartment that was close enough to one of the exits, had to be prepared and plus that meant less traffic for him and better access to the snack cubby. Or uh... cart. It was a bad habit he had picked up from his little sister Cloudy, who at her young age insisted EVERYTHING was a cubby after coming home from daycare. The cart at the grocery, cubby, the cabinets in the kitchen, cubby, the ladder in the basement, cubby... Thinking about that made him laugh to himself, as he threw his luggage on the upper compartment, collapsing onto one of the seats and resting his dirty converses up on one of the arm rests.
He really needed to get some new shoes, these ones were now barely holding on, even with the addition of duct tape he had wrapped around the center. That was too bad, these were his favorites. He sighed, rubbing the top of his head, which felt like short prickly straw against his hand, he had bleached it over break with some box bleach he got from the nearby drug store. Fire had been too scared to place it against the roots as he had seen too many videos online of people giving themselves a gnarly burn, so the roots were still it's natural color of dark brown, and of course his father had cut his hair again. So the literal tips were only blonde... He had frosted tips, maybe he pulled it off? Or he could just be trying to convince himself, but whatever he looked good in anything he knew at least that much.
A knock, and another, pulled Fire immediately from the thoughts of his good looks, but not quick enough as the door slid open revealing a student around his age. He narrowed his eyes as he sat up slightly, the girl looked like some gothic Victorian doll, he tapped his chin for a moment as he thought some more. "You look like someone...." He racked his brain for the answer before finally getting his epiphany. "Aha! Figured it out, you look like Osaragi from Sakamoto days." He grinned to himself before pointing to his bag and standing up, already reaching for it. "I brought a few volumes if you wanna read during the train ride there if you want."
"Also nice ta meet'ya Hana, the name's Fire, don't wear it out," The boy said crouched over his duffel bag, unzipping and pulling out a few mangas with a cheeky grin. "Go on ahead and take a seat, I don't care if you do or not, really."
He stood up handing her, more like shoving, the stack of books, his eyes glaring slightly despite there was a smile plastered on his face. Fire was slightly offended by her earlier comment about him being alone, he knew she probably didn't know or whatever, but it rubbed him off the wrong way. "I already read all of these so go ahead and take them, been meanin to get them off my hands. So anyways, what's up with the whole getup? Or are you like those old purebloods who like suck people's blood and stuff?"
Fire resumed his posture of sitting on the couch, glowering with a grin as he waited for her answer expectantly.

───────────────────────────────────────xxxx"You look like someone...." Hana watched curiously as he mentally sought for the continuation of his statement, "Aha! Figured it out, you look like Osaragi from Sakamoto days."
An odd slew of words—ones that were unfamiliar to the Bakir daughter. From the way it was spoken, she could only assume it were some sort of fictional character from a source she was unaware of. "Osaragi from Sakamoto Days," the girl parroted curiously, the words foreign on her tongue. "I suppose this is a novel of some sort, unless..." she tilted her head curiously, her black bob springing with the movement, "it is a fictitious character from that muggle invention with the moving pictures. I believe is it called the television..." The idea had her giddy, body leaning forward as she anticipated the answer from the spikey-haired boy.
Hana found the name to be quite eccentric, but she supposed that it suited the strange boy. Wide eyes lingered at the top of his head—perhaps that why he decided to color his hair in such a manner, the pattern reminiscent of flames. "Fire? You bear such an odd name for a boy. I am inclined to assume that it is a pseudonym of some kind, unless your parents believed it to suitable to name their child 'Fire.' Then, I would be further obliged to inquire as to what inspired such a moniker to be imposed upon you?"
At the not-so enthusiastic welcome to join the compartment, Hana walked further into the room; she set her luggage on the vacant seats opposite of the boy, before turning around and promptly slamming the door shut. She continued to move about the room with swiftness—skirt complimenting the movements with a water-like fluidity, despite the thick petticoat that kept her skirt structured.
She took a seat beside the boy—too close for anyone's comfort. The thin stack of books were placed in her lap, creating a small divot in her billowy garment. A gloved hand reached out to grab the book at the top of the stack, bringing it to her face to observe more closely. They were beautifully crafted books, albeit more flimsy than the books she was more accustomed to handling; they were covered in a film, giving them a glossy texture. Opening the book itself, Hana was gifted more cartoons—the characters aggressively engaged in an action sequence. "I already read all of these so go ahead and take them, been meanin' to get them off my hands. So anyways, what's up with the whole getup? Or are you like those old purebloods who like suck people's blood and stuff?"
Hana spoke as she continued to scrutinize the picture books in her lap, "While I am of pureblood heritage, my appearance is of my own accord. I believe it fashionable to dress in such a manner everyday, as you deem it fashionable to dress as you are. However, if I were to come across any purebloods who consume blood, I believe the most appropriate course of action would be extermination. I cannot, in good conscious, continue to let the creature live."
Her pupils dilated at the thought, the idea of exterminating such a creature bringing her nothing but a sense of joy. She glanced over at her new companion, taking a moment to scrutinize his appearance now, as he did her. The graphic on his garment was reminiscent of her muggle friend, Aodhan Shaw. Hm. Wide eyes traveled to his face, where she curiously made note of his own sharp eyes. Reaching out with her unoccupied hand, she lightly pressed her pointer finger against the boy's eyelid before dragging it upward. Such an action revealed the most striking eye she'd ever come across—the iris an ornate maroon; she intensely observed the maroon eye before releasing, "you have very beautiful eyes, yet I don't believe I've ever seen such a color on a human before. For someone who equates purebloods to vampires, you seem to come from a peculiar bloodline as well. Are you that of muggle descent, or perhaps," she paused, eyeing the boy warily, "that is non-human descent?"

Oh that's right... Fire thought to himself as he listened to the words that spilled from the living ghoul's lips. Pureblood and Muggle-born living styles don't mix much. It was kinda sad in the boy's eyes how much disparity there was between the two races, one not even knowing the other existed. But being born a half-blood, the boy had been able to learn the best of both worlds, as well as unfortunately the worst parts as well. But that's how it was, life was all pros and cons, but he wasnt as optimistic as that. Being more of a glass half empty guy, but not just because he was greedy.
The girl mimiced his words, her face and aura full of mystery, as they tried to figure one another out. "I suppose this is a novel of some sort, unless..." the girl tilted her head, in what Fire would think similar to an analog horror, but... Pretty in some way ?
That's what really got him, she had exotic features and characteristics that shouldn't go together yet... It worked perfectly, creating a strange gorgeous speciman. It seemed her conversing and personality were even more outlandish than her dress. It intrigued him oddly as he grinned in response.
"it is a fictitious character from that muggle invention with the moving pictures. I believe is it called the television..." The girl leaned forward looming over his current sitting position, an excitement prominent in her eyes. As she got close in proximity, too close for his own comfort. But he didn't say anything about it, his nose scrunching a half of fraction being the only give away.
He placed a finger on her forehead to stop her, in response that she would get closer, shrinking back into his seat. Dang he felt useless in this current position, what if she decided to fight ? How would he get out of it ? The boy usually found himself with the upper hand in stance, but this time it appeared not so.
Hopefully she wouldn't decide to randomly tackle him, it wouldn't be the best for him, especially after sizing her up.It was a weird habit he had, always preparing for a fight, making sure he was in position or strategizing if the situation ever raised, which never really did.
"Hmm RING RING, wrong kid," Fire said keeping his cool despite holding his breath, doing his best to push her forehead away, appreciating her enthusiasm with a smile. "Well... Maybe actually yes, their is a technically a television show version of Sakamoto days but it's originally a manga series."
Fire repositioning, regained his confident sitting stance pulling a single knee up to his chest as his dark maroon eyes looked over to her. "Osaragi is pretty much this bad-ass character who's like an assassin prodigy, but she has a similar vibe and style to ya albiet, alot less frilly."
The boy grabbed one of the mangas, quickly riffling through the pages until he found a illustration of Osaragi holding it up to show the girl. "Here she is."
The girl made her way fully into the compartment closing the sliding door behind her as he ruffling skirts danced around her with every moment. he culsnt help but think how fun it probably was to wear such attire, and how she seemingly was so unapologetically herself.
"Fire? You bear such an odd name for a boy. I am inclined to assume that it is a pseudonym of some kind, unless your parents believed it to suitable to name their child 'Fire.' Then, I would be further obliged to inquire as to what inspired such a moniker to be imposed upon you?"
He had briefly introduced himself, not expecting her to actually question his name. That ahd been the first time he had gotten actual question on it, people usually would quickly accept it and move on. Fire frowned slightly at that, resting his chin impatiently in the palm of his hand.
"What's it to ya 'bout what my name is kid?" The boy said a small sneer pulling at the corner of his lips, exposing the rather crooked sharp canines that lay within the cavity of his gaping mouth.
It had struck a nerve, it wasn't the girls fault, it was a perfectly fine questions, and valid one at that. But it was a sensitive topic in his own eyes, as he had been directly named after his father, a now disgraced boxer, and the man who he somewhat despised. His eyes flashed towards her, narrow as he spoke.
"The name's a nickname, I got it after I exploded something when I was little. Originally it was Fireball, but I shortened it. My name technically is Samuel, but ya have to call me Fire. No exceptions or excuses, that's what I go by kid. If you have a problem with that, then I'll MAKE a problem punk," Fire said well.. not nicely as he gestured toward the girl, before crossing his arms. "What's ya name anyways?"
The girls hair shifted foward bounding with move she made, as with gloved hands she opened and studied the books that lay open in her lap filled with plush ruffles of her skirt.
"While I am of pureblood heritage, my appearance is of my own accord. I believe it fashionable to dress in such a manner everyday, as you deem it fashionable to dress as you are. However, if I were to come across any purebloods who consume blood, I believe the most appropriate course of action would be extermination. I cannot, in good conscious, continue to let the creature live."
Her voice tone change just a tinge at extermination, the words making his own ears perked up as a bit of adrenaline started to course through his veins, his eyes widening just a fraction. Was she gonna kill him? Would this be actually the time he'd finally get jumped ? Extermination. He calmed himself slightly, feeling as if she agreed with her sentiment.
"Well that's cool," fire said in response to her ideals for her own aesthetic and clothing choices. If anything he noted that it seemed extremely expensive, so he had to respect it some, even though she looked like a haunted doll. "Can't argue with that, what penalty or er.. extermination should they face ya think?"
He was curious to see the way she thought, what would she say ? To be honest, despite the low-key aggression between the two, he was actually enjoying this interaction. She wasn't like the edgy kids he had met who were 'weird' and somber, no this girl was different... She seemed to actually have a few screws loose, if not all of them.
The raven haired girl sized him up once more, as if taking mental notes of his appearance before she locked her dark stoic eyes onto his, wide and unblinking without warning reaching out abruptly. Fire flinched immediately bringing his hands into balled fists as she grabbed his eyelid pulling it up against it's flickering will, stoping it from blinking.
"What the hell?!" Fire said hoarsely, his voce breaking from his throat with difficulty from the shock of the action. His hands faltered after realizing he wasn't being attacked, his heart spike relieving itself, but the beat was still prevelant within his ears as she let go. Giving him the blessing to blink his eyes which were now slightly watery.
"What was that for man—"
"you have very beautiful eyes, yet I don't believe I've ever seen such a color on a human before. For someone who equates purebloods to vampires, you seem to come from a peculiar bloodline as well. Are you that of muggle descent, or perhaps," The girl questioned tying her head slighlty, causing her bob to shift, the silly strands all in perfect place. "that is non-human descent?"
For the first time in what felt like Fire's whole life, he had flushed, his face, neck, and ears immediately tinging a red, almost exact color matching to his short red hair. Was this embarrassment ? He wasn't used to compliments like this, as often he had been marked intimidating or unapproachable. The boy stuck out his tongue in protest.
"BLEGH!" This had to be embarrassment, he reassured himself. Like when his mom pinched his cheeks, or told embarrassing stories to his family. Even though usually his heart didn't beat this fast...
"My eyes are normal, Im just a human guy or whatever, not a half-breed or nothin like that, and ya Im a fom muggle descent. What about ya ? Ya could either be a dhampir or maybe veela?" He said scratching his chin as he looked at her, contemplating the idea. He thought dhampir because of well.. the obvious, and veela because of that uncanny beauty that was so captivating.
The girl mimiced his words, her face and aura full of mystery, as they tried to figure one another out. "I suppose this is a novel of some sort, unless..." the girl tilted her head, in what Fire would think similar to an analog horror, but... Pretty in some way ?
