The last Quidditch game Gabriele had played in, Hufflepuff had swiped the pitch with the Gryffindor team. He'd even got to play and make some essential moves for their team, despite being benched beater, first and foremost. Safe to say, the Italian arrived to the pitch that day more cocky than usual. Anyone from the Slytherin team who dared even look in his direction would have gotten a shiteating grin in response. Probably a finger slicing against his own throat too, a warning that they were gonna get their asses kicked.

Taking his spot on the bench, Gabriele looked out at the other team as Ashton introduced them. They had a young as fuck captain, only a first year. Ma che cazzo. He squinted at the red-head called Cecilia. How could these kids make it on to the team, and he was still stuck on the fucking bench? Unfortunately she was pretty hot too. Whatever. Gabriele shook his head. They'd win this match too.

Pam should've probably eaten less.

Her stomach flipped as she stared up at the pitch, and then at the crowd that had gathered. She tried to regulate her breathing as they were introduced, trying not to look like she was five seconds from passing out.

Which she wasn't. Definitely not.

It got better as she mounted her broom and took off with the others. The cold wind brushed her face, calming her down slightly even as it chilled her to her bones. Thankfully, the broom felt familiar under her hands, a reminder of the amount of effort and practice she'd put into the game. It was fine. She could do this. Even if she was dying of nervousness, she could definitely still do her best.

Percival glanced up toward the cloudy skies, brows furrowing as he felt the cold wind rush through his uniform. His fingers were already aching for the cold weather. Whoever had decided that Quidditch games should take place in the winter must have taken one too many bludgers to the head. However, he didn't complain about the fact that he would be able to play one last time before graduating. His broom was held tightly in his left hand as he watched the other team with a thoughtful smirk. Slinging the bat he clutched in his right hand over his shoulder. This would be an interesting game. An interesting game indeed. Percival would climb onto his broom, taking to the skies as he heard the crowd roar.

1. In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).

2. In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.

3. In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

Was Sage more confident in this Quidditch round? Absolutely. Did she still feel a sinking dread in her nerves? Well, she'd be foolish not to. Sure, they'd won the last game, but Slytherin was a tough team. She'd never won against the snakes. But then again, she hadn't been able to say that about Gryffindor until a few months ago. As she made her way onto the field, Sage tightly held her bat, swinging it for practice a few times, eyes glinting around the stadium.

Despite the hectic nature of the year so far, stepping onto the pitch for a match was just as exhilarating as ever. She paid little heed to the chill in the air as she mounted her broom and grabbed her bat, rising to join her team in the air. Despite their victory in the last match, she was all that much more determined to contribute more this time around. A smile is spared for her teammates before she looks forward once more, tensing in preparation for the whistle and the call to action it would bring.

Clean break. That was the word that best described Cashis current situation. Not because they were new to Quidditch. No. In terms of Quidditch, Cash had been a tenured player for the inter-house matches. But more so of being back to square one. Back to being the second-string player of the team. The green eyes felt like they were back to their second year all over again.

Perhaps this situation could be a blessing in disguise. Cash could observe and see what the other team does during the match and learn from it for their house team for the next matches to come. After both the Captain and the Co-Captain of the team gave the team member a pep talk and gave what each of them had to do, the first-stringer took flight and entered the pitch.

Cash and the rest of the second-stringers took their places on the team's bench. Cash looked envious at the first-stringer who had flown above the ground and parked their broom according to their respective positions. From all the players that were on the pitch, none of them that Cash knew. Well, the only familiar faces that the young Ironwoods knew were Percival Rainwood and Violeta Roux.

The rest? Foreign to them. Today's weather was cloudy and cold, with intermittent freezing rain. And it already hit noon. But then again, for as long as the young socialite had played Quidditch for their house, Cash could count on one hand when the weather was at least friendly and forgiving. With the changes of their teammates and only two of them that Cash was familiar with, Cash never knew what the team dynamics would be.

And that? What makes this match more interesting to watch. ¡Que comience el juego! Let the game begin!

The captain position had somehow fallen into Mamori lap mere days before winter season kicked off, and he had that single dubious line on his resume — "Led International Quidditch Team at Age 12" — to thank for it. Initially, there was all the expected fanfare: pride, ego inflation, and an overwhelming itch to broadcast this earth-shattering news to every living soul he encountered. He was captain now! Captain! The sweetness of the title lasted 24 hours before the reality of day two caught up when the heavy workload hit. Turns out being captain came with slightly more responsibilities than extra income and bragging rights. Like forcing yourself out of bed and into your gear at 5:30 AM not because you want to but to make sure everyone else is equally miserable at 6 AM practice. Like creating individual practice plans and giving players lectures on personalized broomstick maintenance as if each player were delicate flowers that needed their own specific amount of sunshine & water. Like running through all of it a second time in the evening, because one round of torture in the morning just isn't enough if winning was supposed to be on the table. And somewhere between explaining why you can't just throw your expensive Silver Arrow into a broom closet and keeping track of who needs what special accommodation on which day, homework exists — theoretically. Less than a week in the role, Mamori was already thinking about the pros of handing in resignation. ──────────✦─✦─✦────────── Standing in the bitter cold after emerging from the locker room, the pink-haired badger cast an envious, mildly resentful glance at their now blissfully unemployed and free former captain, @Avery McCall. He then took in the sprawling Quidditch field, drew in a lung-full of freezing air then watched the white mist escape as he exhaled before addressing his teammates. "Guys! Stick to the plan! Violence is the only answer. Show no mercy!"

While the last match had seemed an easy win for the Hufflepuff team, Landon wasn't quite as sure about this one. He knew that Slytherin had some heavy hitters, but he was still hopeful that they would at least manage to score some points. Maybe they would even see the Snitch before the other team. But Landon wasn't going to focus on the negatives. The weather was also kind of miserable, and Landon shivered as the intermittent freezing rain kept the temperature chilly for the match.

Taking his place on the bench as usual, Landon wrapped his arms around himself to try and hold onto some of the warmth. He knew there were probably spells to help keep him warm, but Landon wasn't as good with magic as he was with history, so he just shivered a little. He watched his team take their places and smiled. Despite the weather, Landon was always excited for a Quidditch match, and today was no exception.
