Hufflepuff v Ravenclaw 3rd Game Finished

Serena had her eye on the Snitch. Merlin, she was good. This wasn't the first time she caught sight of the Snitch within the first few rounds, and now she was at it again. It was wonderful, really. The Hufflepuff captain was proud of her. She was proud of all her team members, but Serena really was the MVP of this game. It was a blessing she was on their side. She didn't know what the team would do without her.

But that made her a big target for the Eagles. They knew she was on the hunt for the Snitch, and they weren't going to let them give her the chance to take it. Quinn was busy elsewhere, and that left Saskia to do one thing. And that was to be a glorified meat shield for Serena. That was putting it in a more crude way, really. As a captain, she had to take sacrifices, and if that meant making sure they won, she would have a personal meeting with the grassy fields themselves. There were worse things she went through anyway. Crashing towards the ground and breaking various bones was just part of the Quidditch experience. It was still an unpleasant experience, and certainly something she wouldn't want to impose on the Seeker. She had already taken a bludger, and surely she didn't need anything else.

The first attack was from the one and only captain of the Ravenclaw team. Her aim was true, and all the Hufflepuff could do was rush in front of Serena before taking the blow for her. It hurt, and she could have sworn she could have heard a rib crack, but she was still standing. That would have been enough.

But that wasn't all they would have to offer. They would have one of their chasers blatch the third year as well. It wasn't just an ordinary blatch, but it was what she would recognize as the Parkin's Pincer. The chaser would be surrounded by two other players in order to trap Serena and take her out of the game. But Saskia wouldn't allow that. Her body still ached and the pain was dulling by now, but that wouldn't stop her.

And so she flew forward, ready to take the second blow. But she couldn't take any more, could she? The pain was too much. No matter how hard she tried to push it aside, it hung over her like a blaring alarm. There was no way she could ignore it now. The Beater felt her grip loosen on her broom and she found herself falling towards the ground.

It was worth it, wasn't it? The Seeker was left unharmed, or at least she hoped she was. She only hoped Serena caught the Snitch on time. She couldn't be there to defend her anymore, but maybe Quinn or Reid could do it in her stead. Saskia closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable impact. It was a shame she wasn't strong enough...

But it seemed that there were other plans in store. Willow had managed to save her before she met her demise. The Hufflepuff captain blinked, trying to grasp at what happened. The crowd was roaring. A lot louder than usual. What-

Oh.

At the Keeper's words, she glanced at Serena and the tiny glimmer of gold that was in her hands. Merlin, it hurt to move, and all Saskia could do was manage a huge grin on her face. They actually did it. They won. It wasn't beginner's luck, contrary to what many people might think. It was sheer talent, hard work, and teamwork.

Once she got off Willow's broom, she made sure to steady herself. It was still hard to walk on her two feet, and she was surely going to need a visit to the Hospital Wing. But before that, she would turn towards her fellow Huffles. "You guys were great out there. All three games, you did all amazing, and I couldn't be any prouder of you." Was that too awkward for a final speech. Oh well. She could live with it. And so, she gave a salute and the grin remained. "Anyway, keep up the good work."

And with that, she took her leave with the rest of her teammates.

The Match was over before Alan even had a chance to fly, the young expecting to be on the bench had at least wanted to fly his broom, the first game jitters still lingered. Watching the snitch gets grabbed almost immediately by the other team despite Ravenclaws best efforts felt anti-climatic to the new team member as he said to himself "Oh well better luck next season I suppose" Looking over towards River his fellow teammate he extended his hand of a shake the boy let out a deep sigh "May as well hit the showers or just go back" With a nervous smile "T-Thanks for uh chatting it h-helped w-w-with the nerves" Taking his school broom he marched off watching the Hufflepuffs celebrating if he passed any by he offered them a wave. Looking around for his friend Ruthie Greer hoping to see her before he leaves, catching a glimpse hoping she'd notice Alan offered a wave"

Action: Benched, Leaving the Pitch, talking to River Dewlight and Waving to Ruthie Greer. Is Leaving unless stopped but regardless is out of the thread!

Quinn was still determined to make a difference and as he flew around. He was spotted by Serena who he saw nearly get creamed. Thankfully cappy, Saskia, came in clutch to take one for the team. She was going to feel that however when Serena came up to him and asked him such a simple request. A massive grin that could only spell trouble got plastered across his large face.

"Well o'course I can! Come on!" He exclaimed grabbing the back of her broom. He spun her around using every ounce of strength he could muster. Tossing her the added force sent her shooting towards the snitch at breakneck pace. He was terrified his aim might be off but thankfully it was spot on. Because when she caught that bloody snitch. Quinn started howling as he flew over to greet and celebrate with the rest of his team.

They did it, they bloody won!! He got so excited that when everyone landed he picked up Serena hoisting her up on his shoulders. "We did it, we bloody did it!!" He exclaimed.

Action: Celebrating with the whole team and leaving the thread afterwards!
