Hufflepuff vs. Gryffindor 2nd Game Finished

Donnovan was not ready. But he saw that it was his time. He looked around awkwardly for a minuet, a buzzing sound filling his ears. Then he was rushed onto the field and he took off, his fingers crossed. He then saw the red quaffle in the air, coming right towards him. He shot in that direction almost instinctively, his eye on the ball. It was then that he realized there were three more chasers going after it at the same time, they were all in red, and he was the only Huffle.

He knew he would probably not come out victorious, but he did this for his team, right? He made his best grab, and winced his eyes as he collided with the group of chasers. There was pushing and shoving from both sides, and he almost came out victorious, but there were two Gryffindors that stood in his path, the one with the long brown locks come out victorious, making a stiff-armed grab for the Quaffle, and shooting off to the hoops. That was it. Donny was doomed, and he knew he'd failed his team. But wait-

"Flutter, flutter..."

He heard the familiar sound again, the second time this game. It was the snitch, and Julie was the game changer. Donny stopped midair, a childlike joy across his face. "You got it Julie!" he said, slowly clapping. And then, almost in slow motion he saw her outstretched hand grasp the snitch. There was a moments silence, and then the crowd erupted in cheers, the Hufflepuff stand overflowing onto the field. They were on a winning streak they were! Maybe not Donny, but he did his best for a first game. He was living on his fathers legacy, hopefully. He rushed over to Julie as people surrounded her.

"You did great out there on the field! Good job!" he said awkwardly, knowing he probably wasn't being heard, but he tried. "GO HUFFLEPUFF!"

Piérre kicked his feet beneath the bench excitedly as he watched the quaffle once again fall into the hands of Gryffindor. In a heartbeat, it once again went into the hoops. Piérre gave a sigh of relief. It seemed that he would not be needed on the field, as long as Gryffindor kept the points on their side.

More bludger action, most of which Piérre watched with indifference. Boudgers and people falling off brooms were typical in the game, but one of them hit an extremely powerful boy and yet, he was still flying strong. Piérre was only able to admire it for a second before a triumphant cheer rose form the Hufflepuff stands. Their Seeker had caught the snitch.

”Awww...” Piérre muttered, squeezing Pringle to his chest in disappointment. Man. He couldn’t believe it. The game had hardly lasted for what seemed two minutes, and it was already over.

He didn’t want to dwell on it for too long, though. There would be other games. Other occasions for him to prove his place on the team.

Piérre woodland wait for Lamik, their Seeker, to land before walking up to him and offering Pringle back. ”Hey, great flying, Lam.” he smiled genuinely. ”You were awesome out there, you gotta teach me some moves!” Even though he knew team morale would generally be low, Piérre knew that he had to support someone, especially if that someone was the person who just stepped up to a first sting position.

From what Piérre knew from practice and sparse time as a team, Lamik was generally a happy individual like himself. Perhaps he would like the encouragement?

• Adding +1 HP per player to the House before the end of the month, a few points closer to the House Cup.
