Misty was relieved that Brooke hadn't noticed she didn't call herself a pureblood, but at the same time felt a crippling sense of guilt for tricking her. Brooke had been so honest with her. Many would have hid their less popular opinions, but Brooke had come right out and said what she thought, and how had Misty responded? By lying, or as good as lying anyway. Perhaps this was why she had been put into slytherin. Was she the kind of person who would trick others for her own benefit? She couldn't stop now, not with how happy Brooke looked to have found a friend, so she continued smiling, even as her guilt grew. It came as no surprise to Misty that Brooke had been raised with the opinions she held now. Her mother had once told her, "Children are always innocent." While they were talking about why some people had hated her father when he went to school. She had said that no child comes to the decision that some people are not equal to others independent from their parent's influence. Misty had disagreed with her then. If children were innocent, when did they stop being innocent? The moment they became adults? But now Misty thought she understood some of what her mother had been trying to say. Brooke wasn't a bad person. She just believed some bad things. Perhaps she would grow and change, and then Misty wouldn't have to keep any secrets. Brooke was still talking,
"I'm so sorry. I would stop talking about Muggleborns like that if you mind. And sorry for what I told you earlier. If you are in Slytherin you deserve it. Apparently more than me."
Misty responded, Thank you for apoligizing, but don't worry, we all say things we don't mean sometimes. I would appreciate it if you didn't use the M-word around me though. You shouldn't beat yourself up about not being in Slytherin. You've been really kind to me and I think we both want people to be happy, we just have different opinions on what would make people the happiest." Though she didn't admit it out loud yet, Misty did think something about the relationship between muggles and wizards needed to change. "I hope we can be friends." Even as she said this, Misty knew she was still walking a fine line. After all, a secret can only stay hidden for so long.

Misty was way too nice for Brooke, it made her uncomfortable. Just a few minutes earlier, she had insulted him, and she was adorable. She admired it. Brooklyn was different, and she had shown it. No one except Anthony and Alyson had ever shown like this before. He missed his sister. She saw her brother every day, so it suited her, but her sister was like a ray of sunshine for her. His father, and his stepmother, of course, and, surprisingly, his mother too. It was hard at Hogwarts. It was hard without friends, without parents, just with her brother, and herself. She was right, but the only problem was that she meant what she said earlier. For her, the word "Muggle-born" did not exist. She always said "Mudblood". Changed for someone was something Brooklyn did not agree to do. But Misty had accepted the fact that she doesn't like Muggles, she had to do the same and accept to change, even a little bit. That was what friendship was all about.

- I want the same thing as you, said Brooklyn. I also hope that we can be friends.

She did not doubt it. To date, she was the only person in this school whom she saw as a friend. In any case, he was the person she valued the most here, after her brother.

Long life to Pure-Blood <3 !

Misty was filled with nervous energy. Throughout her life she hadn't made many friends. At Hogwarts she finally felt like she fit in a bit more. Even though she felt bad for having entered the friendship on false pretenses, she felt excited. Brooke had accepted her, even though they held opposite beliefs. Misty also felt like she was distancing herself from her parents. So far, she had written to her parents about almost everyone she had met, as they had instructed her. There was no way she would tell them about Brooke. Not only would they be disappointed in her for not telling the whole truth about her blood status, they would have wanted her to stand up for muggleborns and muggles. Her parents at told her a situation like this could happen, and they had clearly told her to leave as quickly as possible. Her parents weren't strict, but that was because Misty hadn't really given them a reason to be. Despite her record at her muggle schools, Misty tended to listen to adults and respect their rules. Her parents would tell her that she was foolish for thinking Brooke liked her for more than her presumed blood status, but her parents weren't here now. Misty needed to start making her own decisions. It was then that Misty realized she only had a bit more time before she had to pick up her books and head to her next classes, but she didn't want to seem like she was rushing away.
"I'm glad to hear that. I'm glad we've met and I'm glad to be your friend. I've got classes soon and I have to get my bag. We should meet up and talk again sometime soon."
